is it possible to disable recording job downloads? i have two machines on my network both have tuners and gbpvr. i only want one of these 2 machines to be able download recordings. my idea is like this..... if i go into the guide through my mvp/gbpvr on machine one and setup a recording....machine two will download this and record accordingly. i do not want machine one to download these recording jobs. i thought of removing zap2it from the capture sources on machine one but, this will not as i will also loose guide browsing ability. so how do i do it?
hi all, i am thinking about trying to add a second pvr card currently i have a hauppauge pvr 150 and it is working great with GBPvr but there seems to be more and more shows that conflict and i dont have the option to record both. so i came up with the idea to add a second card but i cant seem to find anything much about running dual/mulitple pvr cards and was wondering if it works good using dual pvr cards and if it is easy to set them up and how you would set it up in GBpvr. in the configuration part of Gbpvr i would assume that in the capture source you would just add a second source there and go from there. but i also wonder if there would be conflicts and how well it would working if your are recording two shows at the same time. if anyone could give me some advice or links that would help answer these questions i have it would be appreciated..
I have a PVR-150 retail with remote now, and am looking to add a tuner. I looked through the archives and have seen that only one Hauppauge remote blaster works at a time, so I figured I'd perhaps get the cheaper 150MCE, and get FM as a bonus. I've seen both success and problems with multiple cards in the archives, but most posts were pretty old. Are there currently any problems running both flavors of the card in one box? I have Windows 2000. It seems like they use the same driver. Is that correct?
Anyone running a Dvico Fusion 5 Lite alongside a PVR-150? That was my other option, since I'll get HDTV someday, and I could live with OTA only for a second tuner. However, for now I'd have to figure out how to get HD recordings to my MVP with conversion, so I'm not sure I want to screw around with that for the time being.

Bonus question if you're generous: It looks like the PVR-500 has only one analog cable input. For the second tuner you have to use a set-top box or other input, unless somehow the FM input can be switched to cable/RF instead. Anyone know for sure?
i'm in the US and looking at picking up an ATSC HDTV tuner card...i was wondering if anyone on here could speak to having a good experience with any particular card.
from the forums i've gathered some problematic usage with a few cards, but perhaps that's just because for those that have it working, it just works and they don't need to post.
so if anybody can recommend a card that works well with gb-pvr, i'd really appreciate it.
Just wondering if anyone had problems recording the last 2 episodes of Lost on C4 in the UK last week. They were broadcast on wednesday and sunday and I saw the same problem both times (4 recordings in total).
Looking in the logs it looked like recording was successful, and the start and end log entries appear at the correct times, but when I actually tried to watch any of the recordings each one was only about 10 minutes long. All slightly different, but all between 10 and 11 minutes. The files were about 200MB, which is what I'd expect for a 10 min recording.
I opened the recordings in windows media player and it shows that they were the correct length, but when it got about 10 minutes in it stopped playing, although I think the sound continued.
I processed the files with videoredoplus's quickstreamfix function and then re-opened them in windows media player, and the length was now showing as the actual length of the recording e.g. about 10 minutes.
Has anyone else seen anything like this, or got any ideas as to why it might be happening? I've never seen this behaviour before or since and I've done a number of recordings since then to try and reproduce it.

This is for non-GB video watching, but this is a fairly knowledgeable group.
I know there's a long streaming to PCs thread, but I'm wondering if there's an easy way to do just buffering. I have a laptop w/ a wireless G card, but it's just quite not enough (and the system isn't just quite fast enough) to make it smooth. It just needs a little help, more than full streaming aid.
I've seen the VLC setup, and in honesty, I've had a hard time w/ it. All I've wanted to do is be able to open a file over the network and have it just buffer/load the file.
I'm new to this, and it may be that buffering is an element of streaming, and it can't be done independantly. I've got a web server on the media sotrage box if that helps do a makeshift setup.
I would like to start this thread for people to share there experience with video cards and software mpeg-2 decoders. I have seen many posts where people ask what is the best decoder.
My first test machine involved a Sapphire Radeon 7000 pci video card using cyberlink sp video decoder. the quality was sub-par for my standards. by that I mean there was a bit of pixelation and relics in the video playback on my TV.
My second test machine used a MSI GeForce FX 5600 AGP video card. I downloaded a trial version of nVidia's PureVideo decoder. this decoder gave me quite a bit more control of my video decoding. with this video card and decoder the picture quality was better than anything else I have tried.
This is not saying that purevideo is the best decoder. I want to share with others what I have learned and hopefully start a good disccussion about what others have used as well.
With the TV guide could we have an option to setup the keys. Personally I'd like to be able to left click-once to select a station for recording, and double click to get a season pass (it bring up the detailed menu), or even use right button for quick record. That would save me so much time (rather then click, move mouse, click).
Also for remotes, it would be nice to have that on the rec button.
