GB-PVR bluescreen-of-death crashes when I *un-check* the "Show in windowed mode" and load up the viewer (PBPVR). I've searched these forums for a similar problem bug couldn't find one. It works ok in windowed mode.

Specs:
3000+ AGP 64bit
Geforce 6600GT
FusionHDTV DVB-T Dual

I'm guessing it's something to do with the render context being used, is there any related options to this I can try?

It really does suck having to run it in windowed mode. In my case an option for a borderless window would be nice, but I guess I'm in the minority.

As I mentioned elsewhere I have to start all over again because of a hd crash.
An old plugin which I used as a dvd database is not supported anymore.
I plan to use it only as a database for my movies on either dvd's or cd's.
when i browse it, it connects to IMBD with the movie description and picture.
So I don't use it to catalog mediafiles on my HD.
What plugin is suited best for this task (I'm now tapping into a vast amount of experience here ). Myvideos or Videoarchive?

The HD on my HTPC broke down, so I have to start all over again. And that thought triggered a renewed craving for a Dutch theatre listing plugin. Since I'm a complete nerd on programming a started this thread in 2004:

I recorded several shows tonight, and at certain spots if I go to them or just watch from the beginning to them, it ALWAYS skips backward or forward a random amount, then starts doing it at other random spots. I tried all kinds of different codecs, but none alleviated the issue. The best combination (with some of them, the image would block up before it jumped randomly) seems to be the Dscaler MPEG2 Decoder with Intervideo's Audio decoder. This skipping seems really random, it just goes to random spots in the video minutes or seconds around it, sometimes even to the end or beginning. I am on a WinTV PVR-USB2... my system is:

Athlon 64 X2 3800+
eVGA 7800GT videocard
2GB dual-channel RAM
300gb Maxtor MaxLine III SATA-native NCQ 7L300S0-model HDD


Also, sometimes when I use the skip-forward/skip-backward buttons, the video begins to stutter (it never stutters unless I do this, up until it skips). The audio stays perfectly smooth throughout the glitches with the stuttering and jumping, except during the block-up of the screen with certain codec combinations.

I googled as much as I could and fiddled a lot, but nothing seems to be solving this for me... I know it must be something with a setting in my system somewhere, since no one else seems to have had this issue that I can find... hoping it's something quick and easy !


EDIT: It does it in Windows Media Player too... so it's gotta be some sort of codec issue.

First time post here. I've been able to solve many of my problems so far through others posts but this one I can't find a fix for. I need to be able to select a TV series and have all the episodes recorded regardless of which channel it is on. This is my procedure:

1. Using XSearch I find a TV series I want to record.
2. I select an episode and choose "Advanced" for my recording
3. By default the recording type is set to "All" which is what I want.
4. I select save.
5. The series shows up in the "Scheduler" window but none of that series ever shows up in the pending window and as a result nothing from that series gets recorded.

What's going on? Or isn't for that matter.

This is my first crack at my new PVR-150 card. So far I love the options that are available through GBPVR and its plugins. A couple years ago I was trying to work with an ATI TV-Wonder but had to give that up do to A/V sync issues caused from latency problems.

When I select vmr7 mode, playback look great on my tv (via tv-out). However, the previously used aspect ratio value is never used. i.e., I have to reselect the aspect ratio for each video I play.

In vmr9 mode, the aspect ratio value is correctly stored and reused for each subsequent video I play. Sadly, I can't seem to get playback in vmr9 to work for me - I get a lot of tearing during motion scenes (even with low to moderate motion)

Anyway, just thought I raise this - wondering if there is a bug in the gbpvr logic for vmr7 playback. i.e., the stored aspect ratio value is (incorrectly) left unused in vmr7.

Could someone let me know if I have a proper understanding of this device and it ability with gbpvr before I purchase one.

1. this device will work out of the box with GBPVR?
2. I can hook this up to a tv anywhere in the house and as long as i run a network connection to it, i'm good to go (will it work wireless?)?
3. Is the on-screen menu the same menu as gbpvr, or does gbpvr just feed the media to it, and mediamvp has it's on menu and way of working?
4. Do functions like comskip work with it, for example-- I have gbpvr set with comskip so that when I watch the shows on my gbpvr box, the commericals are skipped automatically...does this work through the mediamvp?
5. Will it allow me to control the gbpvr's other functions...such as settings up new recordings? watch live tv? view the tv guide?
6. Is there a limit to how many can connect to gbpvr, and are their limitations if more than one is connected? (obviously it can only transmit one live tv channel at a time, but what about recordings?)

Thanks to whoever can handle these, I just didn't want to go out and spend 80 bucks before I knew if it would handle the functions I absolutely want it for. And if anyone wants to chime in on the best price they have found and where, that would be great also.

So, I've decided to take the plunge into PVR's, and I've decided to go with GB-PVR.

I'm very familiar with software/hardware, but one thing has my mind in a fog.

Will the Hauppauge WinTV-PVR-150 be the only "video card" that I will need? I know that it is essentially a tuner, but do I need another video card along side it? Or will the WinTV-PVR-150 work alone?

Here's my future set-up, feel free to make any recommendations. I plan to be a regular around here!

OK, I got this cool idea.

I have 150+ DVD's, they are numbered and in a case. What I would like to do is use MyVideos to catalog the actual disks.

By creating a shortcut named let's say Men in Black II - 002.lnk and change the target to windvd.exe you can double click the shortcut to launch windvd. If and when a DVD is inserted it will play.

You can also create a *.dvd file and set the association to winDVD or whatever app.

Since MyVideos uses the file name for video information and thumnail lookup MyVid will add the description and thum to the link file.

Normally you play a DVD by using the playDVD button. But it would be better to simply press play from the movie info screen like you would a avi / mpeg.

I use GB's directshow for avi / mpeg and divx. For DVD I configed WinDVD since I like being able to skip chapters and other fetures directshow doesn't have.

MyVid doesn't handle the .dvd extension correctly. I think it trys to play the actual file with directshow, times out, then returns to the menu.

How about few ideas or work arounds here?

I'm getting the following error every time my epg updates, and it's causing the guide to simply not update...although gbpvr continues to run fine.

"Failure in channelfactory:torechannel(); invalid argument."

That's the error exactly as it displays. Anyone?
