Apologies for bothering you as the chances are that I am about to display my ignorance with computers... ( please be patient and take explanations slowly )
I have used Nextpvr on three computers for about a year. It has been amazingly successful and the setup guide helpful.
About two weeks ago three things happened;
We had major wind and rain.
Freeview on main TV needed retuning.
Windows 10 did yet another update.
At some point in that sequence Nextpvr stopped recording or displaying live TV. There is a black screen for both with no audio. At first this seemed to be on one machine but it is now affecting all three.
The aerial is in the loft. The cabling seems to be in good condition so I suspect the weather is not an issue.
The lounge has a three way splitter leading to a main TV which works fine ( signal strength 59- 61 ) and two computers with TV cards which I use as PVR. The TV card programmes still display live TV ( one is PCTV with signal strength 53, one is WinTV7 but I have not found how to check the signal yet ).
Removing cables and trying a single source rather than the splitter did not change the black screen on either machine.
We have tried retuning the channel list more than once, which did find more channels.
Recording results in a TS file of 0 size.
I previously used Microsoft DTV-DVD decoders but in case it was related to the Windows update I have tried to install LAV ( never too sure of my abilities ). They are now offered as an option on the Nextpvr decoders settings so I may have succeeded .
Hopefully I have managed to attach the logs from this computer ( which has the PCTV card ).
There is probably a very simple explanation or a step that I have missed but I would be very grateful if I could be pointed in the right direction as I am now tying myself in knots trying to think of what to try now.
I started using NextPVR about 2 months ago; initially with Kodi front-end but now on its own.
All went well until about a week ago when I started to find on the TV Guide that programs which should be scheduled to record were not showing as such. I then found that if I tried to create new schedules, only instructions to record a single instance were accepted.
Is it possible to read the following lines in the XMLTV file to flag shows in guide with a Finale tag? This is what's received from the Schedule Direct JSON file.
only got this a couple of days ago...generally very pleased and thanks...(had to finally move to WIN 10,so WMC no more)
All is fine , but a ccouple of comments more than anything, regarding the 'now and next' popup....(which I really like to use)
Every time I access it I can't get rid of it....until....trial and error and eventually found that pressing Esc did the trick....this is not to be found in the keyboard reference.
The only other way was to press enter on the channel I was currently watching (I only wanted to peek at what else was on) but if I do that then it takes the channel to 'Now' in time
whereas I was actually watching with considerable time shift (having paused earlier)
It would be really great if I could mouse click outside of the popup and it go away with no disruption to what I was watching
and/or there was a timeout on the popup (dare I say ....like WMC)
All in all though, just really glad I can still use the TV card , so thanks again
Hi just to let you know the auto-merge channels do not works will on version docker 5.0.1.200217
when you merge the feed are getting remove instead of merging
Currently KNEWC is broken on recent Matrix build because of an arbitrary decision by the Kodi team that requires me to bump the minimum version of python KNEWC requires even though that is actually not my code requirement. I also need to wait for kodi-six to be released before I can do anything.
This will also force me to create a new source version controla on github just for Matrix and add another version onto the download repo.
I've recently upgraded from v4 to v5 on a windows10 machine. I'm running Kodi 18 on RPi4 as clients. I have two strange issues...
1. Throughout the day of watching various channels, the temp videos successfully clear on a channel change. However, the very small 8k map files remain. These build up over time. I can successfully clear them out manually, but NPVR seems to not be able to clear them - as if they are still open at the moment they are trying to delete. Not sure if I am alone on this one, but I can't see anything in any posts.
2. I had a few channels that would lock up after exactly 6:38. In watching the files, it was right at the point when a new file was being opened. What I found was that the channel name contained an ampersand (&). For example A&E. Just for fun I decided to rename the channel to AE and test. This fixed it and the issue was resolved. I repeated this again for "HGTV - Home & Garden Television" which behaved exactly the same way. Again - all other channels were fine - even "E! Entertainment" worked ok. Once I renamed the channels the problem went away.
Again - not sure if others are seeing the same behavior or if this is something particular with my setup.
Does anyone here use Jellyfin or thinking of trying it? It is a FOSS alternative to Emby and Plex forked from Emby code before the code went closed source and the PVR and other "premium" features were hidden behind a pay wall. You can find out more at https://jellyfin.org/
The reason I ask is there is PVR support for NextPVR v4 and I would upgrade this support to v5 if there is any interest.
