i'm trying to edit a skin and seem stuck. Under recordings, when i choose a recording, it pops up and it lets me play, delete and exit. For the life of me, i cant find where the configuration of that is in recording/skin.xml... can someone help
I've been looking for a way to look at photos, play mp3s etc on my tv from my main pc for a while and looks like mvp/gbpvr might be the way forward.
I'm also considering getting a hauppage 150 and passing tv from my sky+ box through to my pc in office and then back to tv. That way I can record what i'm watching for archive purposes and also live tv, music etc will all be controlled via gbpvr back on the tv. sounds ideal...
ok so now for my question....
what sort of affect on host pc performance will this have?
specs are:
athlon64 3500+
2gb corsair low latency ddr3200
twin 75gb raptors for OS, slower drives for media
basically is gbpvr going to affect my gaming? will the tuner card have an effect? what sort of cpu/ram usage does gbpvr generate? is it different while recording, just streaming or just browsing menus?

is there any way to stream the audio/video output of gbpvr to another PC, instead of Hauppauges MVP?
Which program would i need?
I am using one old PC, just suitable for GBPVR with a Hauppauge PVR-150 and would like to stream the video just to one other PC, since the others PC output capabilities are better.
The old PC consums quite less power and could run around the clock to record something, and is noiseless :-)
Server PC: W2k, GBPVR, 1* Hauppauge PVR-150, 100mbit Ethernet (TCP/IP), 192 mb, RAM, HD, intel PIII-500 (!).
For recording, playing and watching TV, the PC is fast enough, timeshift is not necessary for me.

I am stationed in Germany and want to get something HDTV. Although I can get a better price on the economy I don't believe anything I get would work back in the states once I move back. Can't find a place that would ship me one either so I am stuck shopping at the PX. They have a 26 inch LG that I like and the price is not too bad. All I really know is to look at the picture and if it looks good then it most be good. Well the picture is nice and bright and looks sharp to me but I am afraid if I get it I may find later that I am missing something. Looking at the specs is like looking at a bunch of random numbers on a piece of paper. I just do not understand all of them. maybe some of you who do know could look at them and tell me what you think. My goal would be to connect it to my analog cable system AFN and the german channels I get here. I noticed last night that I had 2 failed recordings. The gbpvr recording service was running with lots of the last line below. Restarting the service fixed it.

I want to add another card to my system. I currently have a Sapphire Theatrix and a PVR-250. However the tuner has gone out in the 250, I have to use a VCR to tune channels. I don't know if another Theatrix is the choice or maybe a PVR-150. Any help and suggestions is greatly appreciated.. Thanks and Happy New Year
Before replacing the quartz file with the directx 9.0b version, I got stuttering all the time. It's like waving your hand in front of a monitor, get a lot of trailing or ghosting...dunno what to call it. It is a lot better now, but sometimes it does stutter and I don't know why. It's only on the decoding side because I've found that a section that has a lot of stuttering may not have it if I fast foward and come back to it. I have Live TV and recordings set to 12000 Kbit/s CBR (I think that's max). Anyone else get this or know how to fix it?
1) It may be the source of a memory leak - it's the only plugin I use (Current versions all around) and my gbpvr.exe process memory grows every time I use XRecord - see http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php?t=12061
2) The Play All option in Ready and/or Videos for a show (even with multiple recordings) always bombs with an invalid index error (and I need to grab the mouse to click the OK button to dismiss the error)
- if there is any way to disable the play all button that will work just fine for now ... my wife and kid just cannot seem to resist pressing Play All :p
I can provide any additional debugging/logging info if it will help.
Oh, and other then that, I love this plugin More documentation would be good, but I'm figuring out most of it by poking around.
The Appearance Manager for The Collection has been updated. Although not completed, the plugin is much more usable than the previous version. The manager works with a PC, multiple MVPs, and a mixture of the two.
In the current implementation, Appearance Manager must restart GBPVR.exe inorder for its changes to take place. Note that all instances of the exe will be restarted. This approach is only temporary until the next release of GBPVR when Sub will provide a more elegant solution.
GBPVR allows you to use a single skin for both the PC and your MVPs or to have one for the PC and another for the MVPs. If you wish to have two variations of The Collection skin (PC, MVP) you should make a duplicate copy of the Collection directory tree. When choosing a name for the duplicate, be sure the word "Collection" is part of the name, for example "CollectionMVP".
Using "Collection" in the directory name is part of an incomplete scheme to head off problems when attempting to use the Appearance Manager with incompatable skins. It's okay that the scheme is incomplete because in that situation you will get a "File not found" error and be returned to the main menu. Not pretty but effective.

I don't know what will happen if two people try to use the Appearance Manager on the same directory tree, at the same time. I expect a mess of errors and hopefully the user would be thrown out before disaster strikes. I have just started work on a mechanism to lockout more than a single user. Should you be brave enough to find out for yourself, make a backup of the Collection directory first and let everyone know what happened afterwards.
There will be more updates as work progresses but the status of the Appearance Manager will not rise beyond Alpha until sometime after the next release of GBPVR.
