I am new to this forum and am in need of help. After getting GBPVR running on windows with all the plugins and such i finally got it ready for tv hook up. The initial try failed, and after some work i got a picture to display. I am running a Leadtek 6200 gpu, and connecting to a standard tv with composite in. The picture shows but in black and white. The initial boot screen, bios, and such are all in vivid color...but once windows itself starts...black and white.
The way i have the tv-out connected is essentially a s-video to composite converter, then the composite to the tv. (this process works great on my x800) I have read posts on a similar problem with the hauppauge 350, which i also have, but i am not using its tv-out.
I have tried everything i know: installed countless drivers, tried every display option i know, and so forth. If anyone has any info on this, or can point me in some direction it would be greatly appriciated.
I have a thread running in my plugin. After Exiting GBPVR normally, the next time I invoke GBPVR it simply will not start. I have localized the problem to this thread, which BTW is waiting on an event.
I have tried alot of things to terminate the thread in the destructor for it's class to no avail.
Is anyone else using threads in their plugins? Anyone have any experience with this kind of problem?
I use GB-PVR for streaming AVIs to my MVP as it does a far better job than the Hauppauge software. I have ramped up the resolution in config.xml to 720*576 and the picture looks awesome!! (thanks sub)
The sounds a little weird though. I think, to my untrained ear, that its in mono and possibly at something like 22,000 sampling rate, it just doesn't sound great. I scoured the config.xml file and the config.exe util for audio settings but couldn't find any.
Is it possible to increase the quality of the transoded audio aswell as just the video?
We were all there once. I tried to search and apologies if i could not find what i was looking for but was wondering if i could grab a little help from someone here. I am using the PVR150 on windows xp pro. I feed from my explorer 8300 box into thepvr card. ir and blaster all seem to be working perfectly well.
Couple of minor issues but seems to be going quite well.
File size. Trying to get a 30 min show between 340-350 meg. the low quality setting which seems fine has me at just over 700meg. Any help on settings? Id also like to try and force it to be 640*480 so that i can watch on my commute on my axim x51v.
Channel listings. Im in brooklyn and use time warner digital. I get my listing feed from zap2it. When i log into zap i see all the correct channels. when i import into gbpvr im missing a bundle. ie ch 105 and 109 appear but none inbetween.
a quiet CPU fan. this one is a tangent but wondered if anyone had any recommendations as my lounge sounds like a jet taking off. I have a bit of an old setup so the motherboard is a ecs k7 and the cpu is an amd1600+.
Does anyone know if there is a way to disable the OSD on a scientific atlanta Explorer 2000? Whenever I go to change the channel with gbpvr, the IR works correctly, but sometimes the titlebar in gbpvr doesnt pop up fast enough, and you see the numbers being "keyed" into the cable box, then the comcast channel banner at the bottom, before the gbpvr one covers it up.
Since installing the latest GBPVR it seems that the GBPVR.exe service is sucking up 90 to 100 % CPU utilization while idle. Any idea what I should be doing to get this to a more reasonable level. I didn't have this problem with earlier versions. Thanks!
For some reason when I try to skip forward on my MVP it goes back to the start of the recording. I think it only does it when I play files that are on my file server. (My video and Movie Dirs are on it.) If I use FF/REW it works fine playing these same files. So it is strange that it can't skip forward.
I think on the previous version of GBPVR I had problems playing files recorded in high quality, but they play fine now. just can't use the skip buttons on the MVP Remote
I've read through all the captioning threads that came up in the search, but I'm still having trouble. Is there any way I can find step by step instructions for setting up the software to get captions?
