Hi - is there a database somewhere in Kodi where the NPVR channel numbers are stored and that can be edited? I'm a Python dev, so have managed to connect to all the Kodi mysql back end databases, but I haven't attempted tp edit anything yet.

I have the channel back end numbers option turned off. Basically I want to edit the channel numbers and groups myself...

Client of V5 is working good with recordings, but a big problem with live TV.  It wants to play for several minutes and then just stops.  Goes back to the main menu.  Gets to be a drag to restart all the time.
Will this require a dump of logs right after one of the stops?

I noticed that I am running a 32-bit version of NextPVR.  Is there a 64-bit version of the same ?

Now to my question, I love the Guide and way you can click on a show and select how you want to record it. The only problem is that I want to only record NEW shows in the series. I can not find where to change the default. 
The other issue is how do I sort the Scheduled shows alphabetically?

I have a HDHomeRun which can display all channels that are subscribed with the carrier.  I am missing channel 740 (Hallmark channel), which can be displayed in the HDHomeRun app.  The channel show up in NextPVR. but w/o any channel info.
Please advise with any info.  Thanks....filosad

I have been using NextPVR for a few years with no problems. I got three new channels on my HDTV today. So I tried to scan them in on NextPVR. It would not scan in any channels. It did not delete the old channels either. I have a Hauppauge WinTV-DualHD Dual USB 2.0 HD TV Tuner.
NextPVR can see both tuners as present and enabled. When I try to scan in the channels in Digital Channel Setup it shows a window with nothing in it. It scans no channels. I tried deleting all channels on one tuner and in device setup it says The capture source has not been setup yet. It still scans no channels in on Digital Channel Setup. I'm using Win10 PRO.

I have been using NextPVR for a couple of years with few problems. Last night at 20:21 (important in that this is when the log entries stop), I went to watch Channel 5 (UK, Sutton Coldfield transmitter) and the GUI locked up when I selected 'Watch' from the NextPVR menu. I rebooted the machine (Windows 7 with latest NextPVR) and the GUI failed to start.
NextPVR Tray had started. I selected NextPVR tray to display the devices window, which was empty.
I stopped the NextPVR recording service (which issued the 'Stopped' dialog box OK).
I then attempted to restart the recording service and received an error message as follows:

Unable to start service: System.ServiceProcess.TimeoutException: Time out has expired and the operation has not completed.
at
System.ServiceProcess.ServiceController.WaitForStatus(ServiceControllerStatusdesiredStatus, Timespan timeout)
at Nctrl>program.Main(String[] args)

I have also attached a screenshot of this message as Capture.PNG

The GUI would not start either.
Having looked around the forum for similar problem, I saw that the output from FilterCheck was requested, so that is attached together with the zipped up logs.

I am using a Hauppauge WinTV-QuadHD. It appears to be working OK - as there are 2 entries in Windows device manager listing the device and using Hauppauge's WinTV application, I can successfully tune and liveview.

All help appreciated.

   

Installed V5 on the desktop and the Web part works OK.  The client part has problems.  First error that shows up is a Microsoft .NET Framework box that states could not load file or assembly "SlimDX.dll 
What fixes that problem?

i moved from TV Mosaic to NPVR (Version5), and i am really happy with NPVR.

I just want to list a few things i noticed, that are not so optimal in the KODI NPVR Add-on, perhaps it can be "optimised"

- If a single Movie is recorded the movie is in a subfolder in the Recorded TV Library. This is not so nice. Single recordings (not recuring) should be listed flat. This would be nicer to navigate, and also the movie covers would show up while clicking through the list. Would be much nicer

- In recuring records, the cover of the recuring recording could show up on the top folder. So that for example, the picture of the series is shown , when scrolling through the recorded list

- What i am really missing, is that the station from where i recorded the movie / series is not shown in the details page (where the EPG info is shown). Only the time and date is standing in the top of the detail page, but the station is missing.

- If there is no internet cover/poster available for the record, it should show the station logo, not the "no picture availabe icon" from kodi

I sometimes have problems with the live tv buffer. I left the setting in standard, only activated extended timeshift:
- Live TV starts
- Then is stopps - a percent loading icon is shown, taking a few seconds, then live tv ontinues.
- Can this be optimised, with the buffer settings? I did not find a doku to the settings till now

I had a problem with a recording still running, and i already startet watching: 
- The playback stopped twice without any reason (also fast forward worked very laggy)
- I then could resume at the point where it stopped
- I think it stopped there, where the recording was at the point, i started watching ( for example, already 30 minutes were recorded, but total time 1:30, so it first stopped at 30 minutes, because it thought the recoding ended here)

Esspecially in live TV and very less in recordings, the Dolby Digital audio stream is reported to Kodi with 0 channels. So Kodi selects the mp2 stream in the recoding, instead of the better DD stream. Kodi is setup to always use the best stream. This works mostly. If i then manually select the DD stream, with 0 channels, the DD stream works. But because of the false reporting, this does not work automaticaly in these cases.

Well, now i am finished, what i wanted to report. Sorry for my not perfekt english, i do my best, that you understand......

But besindes all the things i listed: I am really happy, that i found this software, and i think with Version 5 and a little tuning of the kodi plugin, it can really get perfekt. Very good job!!

Testing V5 on my laptop and everything works well.  Thinking of removing V4 and installing V5 on the dedicated TV desktop.  Will a simple windows uninstall work or is there some other folders and files that need to be manually removed?
