I'm having a problem with recordings being truncated at a specific length. They all stop at the same file length...2147483647 bytes...2GB. Nextpvr shows them as recording past that size but the files don't get any longer. When played back, when it reaches the end of the file the playback jumps back to the beginning and restarts. Anything shorter works fine. Looks to me like there's a 2.0 GB limit set somewhere but I can't find where.

I'm running version 5.0.1.200211 on a Raspberry Pi 4 running Ubuntu 19.04 server and recording onto an external USB 3.0 hard drive formatted as ext4 but the issue was also there on the previous nextpvr version(s).

Probably something dumb but I can't see what it is. Any suggestions will be appreciated.

I have specified in settings 60 minutes pre and post padding for my recordings.
However in the database I noticed it is using 30 minutes.

I have a Stalker IPTV box that I would like to run in NPVR if possible. Said box seems to work well with the standard Stalker PVR client in Kodi, but I don't know how I do similar with NPVR...

On my TV I get channels 4.1, 4.2 4.3, etc, but when I scan they no longer show up.
Version 4.2.5 (191014)
WinTV HVR-950 DBA Tuner

They did at one time but I had to rescan my channel list and those channels are not showing in the list for me to watch.

In testing version 5 I have something odd.  It opens with a screen that towards the upper left the words:  Nextpvr  channels, TV Guide and others.  Settings is on the far right.
If I click on the channels I get nothing.  Same with guide and others.  I have to click on settings then go to the lower left and click on logout.  That brings up the log in screen.
Well......shouldn't the log in screen be the first thing that pops up?  As soon as I log in everything is there and works, most of the time.

i am using a 8 Tuner Card from Digital Devices.

NextPVR cant lokc the Tuner 1-4. They fail, if they should be used.

Tuner 5-8 are working. So in most cases, NextPVR automaticaly jumps to the working tuners. But if more then 4 recordings are running, they fail.

I do not understand what the problem is, because the tuners do not fail with other softwares (i did not run them simultan, for testing i stopped the NPVR service, and tried them with a 2 other softwares).

Is there a known problem?

Hello everyone. It's been a while since I've been active. We bought a house in May 2019 in a valley, surrounded by mountains, 80 miles from the nearest TV broadcasting tower. We are in barren land between two tv markets and none reaches us.. Not even one PBS or religious channels (lol). Even AntennaWeb offers no stations. Like I said, the mountains block the signals. Up the mountain about a mile there are options with a good antenna. 

My brother lives 90 miles away in an area that gets reception from 2 tv markets. It looks like what I am going to have to do is setup a remote system at his house.

(For the purpose of this post, Remote system is 90 miles away, Local system is the one in my home even though it might be reverse technically in terms of computer networking/programming circles.)

What I had in mind was to take a system to his house and let NPVR run only for receiving the signals so I can pull the RSS IP tv stations from it.  At my home base I was going to setup NPVR and use IPTV device and use NPVR as normal, only via IPTV. The setup would use my Hauppauge quad on the remote (brothers) end. Recording drives, etc would be at my home.

I'm paying almost $40 for 10 stations with Spectrum and the local area I had which my brother has, had a lot of stations, including movies, etc over the air.

My brother is not tech savy so if we run into an issue that I can't remotely handle, he can just restart the remote computer at his house and we should be ready to go. 

I can't invest in different hardware than what I already have so a PI or other OTT PVR box is not in the works at this time.

How is V5 Debian working out? I wonder if that would be better than a bloated Windows 10 with all their noise, bells and whistles on the remote system? Either way, the box the remote setup will have is Intel Core 2 CPU, 3.00GHz, 12 GB RAM. (A recycled Dell)

I should also say, I have KODI on a firestick and before we moved we would watch live TV from my home npvr setup on the TV. This is what we will do once again from my local, home NPVR setup.

Hi all.
I've seen other posts about the updater keeping to 5.0.1.200103, but mine is a little different to that...

On my parents machine, I was running earlier versions of NextPVR 5 (5.0.1.200103).
From another post, it was pointed out that there was an update available, which I have run.
Upon running, I pointed it to my current installation directory (as it's in a non-standard folder) and the update appeared to go well. When I go to the webpage it now shows 5.0.1.200209

The issue is. I wanted to start using NextPVR at home as well, so did a clean install on a new machine, so both are running the latest version, but I have additional options on my settings page than I have on the install for my parents?

They are missing the transcoder button, the logout button and the paypal logo?

I even stopped and deleted the service and ran the installer again (pointing to the correct install location), but I'm not seeing those extra options.
Any ideas?

Apologies if this has been explained in another post...

I am a bit confused about when a transcoding profile is used and which exact tag in config.xml has this option.

Currently in my config.xml I have the below tags:

<AllowRemoteTranscode>true</AllowRemoteTranscode>
    <SendVOD>false</SendVOD>
    <TranscodeProfile>720p - 2Mbps</TranscodeProfile>
    <TranscodeExe>.\other\ffmpeg.exe</TranscodeExe>
    <TranscodeHLS>default</TranscodeHLS>
    <VideoEncoder>CPU</VideoEncoder>

However, via the web interface, in settings I have specified:

Preferred Streaming Profile: 480p

Which of the two is in effect and how can I tell from the config.xml?
Also how can I switch back to no transcoding at all if I want to?

By the way, as implemented also in Kodi NextPvr addon, shouldn't the transcoding Profile to be used be a client and not a server option?

If I set the option to transcode uing my INTEL GPU I get the below message:

"NOTE: On Windows, GPU acceleration is only possible when running as a process, not a service"

I would like to ask if that could be made GPU transcoding possible even with the service, if we changed the service and specified as follows:

1. Interact with Desktop
2. Run as specific user
