Hello,

I got an Exception Error during the installation of GBPVR09516.msi on Windows 2000 Professional.

See the end of this message for details on invoking
just-in-time (JIT) debugging instead of this dialog box.

  Remote Control Question
Posted by: gameshowlover72 - 2005-12-10, 08:26 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (2)

I have a ATI TV Wonder Elite Remote Control Edition TV Tuner. With the exception of a few plugin concerns that I have, the program works really well! However, I was wondering if the program can be used via the ATI Remote Wonder remote? Thanks in advance for any assistance you can provide!

  Weather plugin question

For some reason, the current conditions are not updating as quickly as I have the autoupdating set for. I have them set for every 60 minutes. The maps are updating correctly, but not the current conditions. Any help you can provide would be great! Thanks!

  TheaterListing:Refresh Button
Posted by: gameshowlover72 - 2005-12-10, 08:19 AM - Forum: Old Stuff (Legacy) - Replies (2)

I can't seem to get the refresh button to work. To get the updated movie listings, I have to run the batch file via Windows Explorer. Is this the way it is supposed to be or is the refresh button supposed to do that. Also, I don't have the red sky skin on my theater screen. I get the default blue. Thanks for any help you can provide!

  I am planning to put this system together, what do you think?
Posted by: wireman - 2005-12-10, 04:40 AM - Forum: General Discussion - Replies (3)

My HTPVR
I have dish network, even though I can’t record HD I would like the system to be ready if things change in the future and somebody comes up with a way to record HD via satellite.
I have an E-Machine running at 2.66 GHZ I think, because it also says I have an intel celeron 330 it has 512 MB Ram and an 80 GB hard drive I already have an extra 250 GB hard drive I haven’t installed yet. I plan to purchase G-Force 6600GT I checked with e-machines and they told me I do not have an APG slot so I have to use PCI does it matter if it’s 8x or 16x? My projector has HDMI & component, do I get one with a DVI and use a converter? Is there any other concerns about what features I need with this card ? It sounds like the Hauppauge PVR 150 MCE would be a good choice but I’m not sure if I need the windows media center 2005 for this machine and the guy at e-machines didn’t know what I have for software on this machine and I currently have a virus so until I format and reinstall my software I can’t see what I have. I plan to get beyond TV 4.0 and I was wondering if I have missed anything I need? Your input would be greatly appreciated!

Thank you

Wireman

  Web server: downloading the files
Posted by: ejeffers - 2005-12-10, 04:32 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (2)

I recently set up the GBPVR web server and am very impressed, especially witht the ability to watch the shows over the internet (I have reall fast broadband). However, i would like to know if it is at all possible to download the video files rather than streaming them.

  SuDoku plugin v1.3
Posted by: bgowland - 2005-12-10, 04:30 AM - Forum: Community Announcements - Replies (11)

I've added a few enhancements to the original version but it's still pretty basic.

  • Simple timer - this will be more or less accurate depending on the speed of your system. I'll look at putting a 'true' timer in.
  • Four different levels in two styles. The levels followed by (S) provide a 'rotational symmetry' to the start grid. Before starting a game, use the down arrow to select the '<- Level ->' button and the left/right arrows to select a level. Go back to the Start/Cont button and press OK to begin.
  • Ability to pause using Ctrl-Q on keyboard or the Pause button on the MVP remote. Pressing ESC (or Back/Exit on MVP remote) has the same effect. NOTE - using ESC to leave the plugin will lose the game position altogether and you'll start a new game when returning.
  • Ability to 'pencil in' numbers by pressing Ctrl-B on the keyboard or the Blue button on MVP remote. This is a 'toggle' option so turn it off again when you want to enter a number you're sure of. Up to 3 'penciled' numbers are allowed for a cell.
Font colours and grid background colour can be changed in skin.xml.
Code:
<TextStyle name="PrefilledNumbers" color="Red" typeFace="Tahoma" size="16" style="bold"/>
<TextStyle name="PlayerNumbers" color="Blue" typeFace="Tahoma" size="16" style="bold"/>
<TextStyle name="PencilledNumbers" color="Magenta" typeFace="Tahoma" size="12" style="bold"/>

...
<SpecialElement name="SuDokuGrid" xPos="220" yPos="70" cellWidth="40" cellHeight="40" xCellcount="9" yCellcount="9" lineWidth="1" fillColour="LightGray"/>
Don't mess about with the SuDokuGrid special element attributes xCellCount and yCellCount - odd things may happen.

The grid generator is still flawed and you will often end up with an 'either/or' situation when it comes to filling the last few cells. I've changed the logic to acknowledge a 'grid complete' even if it doesn't exactly match the original. I'll look at generating 'single solution' grids.

To use - create a folder called SuDoku in your skin folder and drop the skin.xml in there. Put the plugin dll in your plugins folder, start Config, enable the plugin and click OK.

Cheers,
Brian

  Tuning different in LiveTv and Guide->Watch
Posted by: timelapse - 2005-12-10, 12:31 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (2)

I have got my channel frequencies using the tuning assistant and configured gbpvr. For one particuliar channel I have this problem:

When I enter LiveTv this channel tunes perfect (after almost one second delay).

When I enter Guide, selects a program on this channel and selects Watch then I get a very bad reception. Same thing if I records this channel.

Can anyone explain this strange behaivor? I would have guessed that the tuning used by gbpvr would have been identical all over the application :confused:
