OK, since now Sub has put the 0.95 series behind him, here's my thoughts for the future versions of the guide (both the normal one and the OSD one). Anyone chip in.
- have an option to show the channel number AND the channel image. When you have different people watching TV, some like me go by the logo, and the wife goes by the numbers.
- have an option so that the scroll forward and backward is in 30 minutes increments instead of 1 hour. Anyone else but me interested?
- when you scroll left or right, and your highlighted program is the one on the border, then the guide scrolls. However, the cursor doesn't move. So your guide has scrolled, but your cursor is still on the previous show. An additional side effect is that the highlighted show has also swicthed sides on the screen.
This seems really unnatural to me.
It's like when you scroll down a page in notepad, when your cursor hits the bottom, and you press down again. Then the screen in notepad scrolls, but your cursor also keeps going down. The current behavior seems odd to me. Am I the only one?
When first upgraded, visualizations were working but now with the upgrade to .95.16 they're gone. I know it's not that big of a deal, but i kinda liked it (so did my 3 month old daughter). Anyone know how to fix it?
I am new to the board! I have the 45 button remote and can't figure out how to change the buttons features that read
TV, Videos, Music, Pictures, Guide, Radio
To my knowledge so far, that TV is for Live TV, Videos is for Video Library, Music is for Music Library and Pictures which could be that plugin for My Pictures right?
Video Archive is what I want to be used on Videos button. But how is it done?
I setup "The Triangle" to record this week. All three episodes recorded, but all 3 only record 1:34 and some odd seconds instead of the full 2 hours. Do I have a setting wrong somewhere? Thanks in advance for any info.

Hello,
I have Just installed GBPVR (version GBPVR09515.msi) and I like it very much.
I have a configuration problem which seems like a bug - can someone estimate if I'm doing anything wrong ? :
I have a Hauppauge WinTV-PVR-500 MCE, It has a dual tuner with FM receiver.
This card has an NTSC version and a PAL version - I have the PAL version.
I noticed that If I configure my adapter and choose "Direct Recording Configuration" and put "Hauppauge PVR500 With FM Tuner" I get only NTSC settings in the "Quality Profile Setting".
on the other hand, if I choose "Hauppauge PVR500" I can choose only PAL settings ... (In my case, I'm fine with it, but I guess someone won't be happy)
It seems like the last setting would not expose FM tuner setting.
I found this bug after diagnosing some quality problems during recording (until I found that it may come from NTSC/PAL settings)
Any Ideas ?! Is this a bug ?! is this the right place to report it ?!
its my first day using Gbpver and i have to say its mighty impressive. i would love to use it as my HTPC but i really need to be able to use it with girder. i cant seem to find a simple way to change the key commands (for example be able to define that the esc key means back or that the space key means play). im sure that there is a way to do it since all the htpc ive used so far had it. can anyone help?
thx alot in advance
I'm trying to figure out if there currently exists (or if not, this is one for the wishlist) to watch TV in a (smallish) window on the main menu.
Similar to the current way a window for visualizations is available.
For all those looking for a wireless connection to your MVP, CompUSA has a new product out, a wireless 54 G router with WDS (sku #333628). I bought two and now have a wireless connection to my MVP.
Set up (for me) was tricky; documentatoin is cheesy and tech support wasn't very knowledgeable and aren't quick to return phone calls. So it took me a week to get it working. It finally seems stable now.
The great thing about the router is that it's $20 after rebate through Jan 31st. My rebate for doesn't say there's a limit on how many can go to one household. I called my local CompUSA to confirm this, and the sales rep said the website didn't say anything either. He was surprised, as this isn't normal. I called the rebate center as well and they confirmed there's no limit. With two more MVP's I need two more routers.
With a WDS setup, I also can connect to the network/internet with my wireless laptop, which previously wouldn't "reach" my old router from my bedroom. Now I'm watching my favorite recordings and surfing the web in bed.
