I am trying to use GBPVR with pos and noframe parameters to fix an overscan issue I have with my TV. It works fine except that GBPVR is no longer a window with a title, and stops responding to my remote. I understand why this is happening based on the config in the remote.ini ([GB-PVR]) but how would I change remote.ini to be able control the new instance of GBPVR that is not seen as a window and does not have a title?
I just got a Microsoft MCE2005 remote and am trying to configure GB-PVR to use it as a channel changer for one of my capture sources. When I plugged it in, the system recognised it and the remote seems to work to control GB-PVR. However, when I try to select 'MCE2005 IR Blaster Plugin' as the channel changer, I get a pop-up error box that says "An unhandled exception has occurred in your application. ..." and "Value cannot be null. Parameter name: type". I don't see anything relevant in the config log. Any idea what's causing this? Could it be an incorrect driver? Which driver should I have? I'm running XP/SP2 with the latest updates (including one for the eHome Infrared Controller).

I am trying to use GBPVR with an MCE remote and ir blaster. I seleted MCE but GBPVR crashed. Moreover, I have tried to use Girder with no success (when i select girder the GBPVR won't save, just freezes),
could someone tell me how to use MCE ir blasters with GBPVR?
Also, I know everything is set up properly because I'm using MCE 2005 right now.

i need a little help. im using gbpvr for the first time, and for some reason rmvb files are not listed. after searching the forum, someone mentioned the same problem but sub the administrator said it would be working in the following release and the post was back in january. so i was wondering is there something i forgot to setup or is there a problem with gbpvr? i wouldnt mind changing the extensions of all the files but it would be some what of a pain.
I have a number of .vob files that were ripped from DVD's using the unix transcode daemon. These .vob files contain all the audio tracks that were present on the DVD. When I play them back in GBPVR I get all the audio tracks played at once, if I use WinDVD the correct audio track is played and the correct 5.1 signal is passed through my spdif to the amp. Is there anyway to select which audio track is played in GBPVR (similar to the '#' key in mplayer)?
When I use Hauppauges WinTV to record, I get decent quality for my kids stuff using the MPEG1 VCD setting. (1/2 show takes about 300MB)
I can't seem to get a decent recording using the GBPVR software unless I use a normal setting. 1/2 hr show is 1GB - this is like an MPEG2 full screen bit rate/resolution.
I havent played around too much....since its the same hardware, there ought to be a way to make it work. I tried a custom setting for the recording quality but it didnt work well, the quality was really bad. I *REALLY* like the GBPVR recording and scheduling software better than than the Hauppague stuff.
Does anyone record MPEG1 (320x240) with this software and get about 300MB per half hour? I play it back thru Haupauge MediaMVP on a 13" TV and it works fine.
Does anyone know how to remove stations from Net Radio? I searched the forums, they all say to edit a PLS file in the net radio folder, but mine is empty. Where are these values stored?

I've been running GB-PVR since v09211, and since I'm relatively new to GB-PVR, I've been trying just about every mod, plugin, skin, etc., that I can get my hands on. Well, I haven't been cleaning up after myself when done with my experimenting and all. As I've become more familiar with the contents of the \gbpvr folder I realized that I have a lot of orphans in there. My theater listings were still be downloaded, and I don't even use that plugin any more and I had some residue of the Check Email plugin, too, that was still running some things even though I don't use the plugin.
Anyway, I just reinstalled the lastest version from scratch and BAM! Everything is faster, my two MVPs seem more stable, even my computer-in-general is running faster (especially at boot-up). Admittedly, some of this may just be in my head (especially since I was expecting it to be faster), but I'm also actually seeing features of the newer GB-PVR versions that I didn't even know existed. I was easily able to transfer my gbpvr.mdb database over, and took the opportunity to reconfigure my tuning sources to use Zap2it instead of XMLTV. I also imported my scheduled recordings without a hitch as well. If nothing else, things sure do look a lot prettier in the \gbpvr folder now.
One thing I did have to manually do was copy my MVP screen settings over to the new config.xml, but that's quite understandable since I reinstalled rather than upgrading. I didn't copy over the old config.xml because it also had a lot of orphans in there from my experimenting.
Anyway, don't be afraid to just reinstall from scratch to clean up a well-used/experimented GB-PVR system. It's really not the horror story I've been fearing. I had everything back up and working in less than an hour, and that included discovering the missing MVP display settings and adding those in. It was even late at night/early in the morning, and I was on cold medicine. Wait, maybe that's why everything worked so well...
