Doesn't Display Widescreen for downloaded video
Posted by: jotting - 2005-12-06, 06:25 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (3)

Hey, I have a downloaded video that I'm trying to watch on my GBPV, plays fine and all, but the video is widescreen and GBPVR is forcing it to be 4:3 aspect ratio.

Anyone know if there is a solution?

Bad Reception & Zap2it with frequency channels
Posted by: neubs007 - 2005-12-06, 05:18 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (2)

First, thanks to those who contribute to this forum. And thanks for taking time to read about my issues.

Setup:
2.0 ghz Celeron
768 MB Ram (64 allocated to integrated video card)
PVR-150
Standard Definition TV (About 25 channels)

Objective: Get PVR to work on computer then get a new video card so I can play it to my TV.

Location: USA

History:
I installed the parts & software on the on a fresh install of XP pro. I can get my channels to work in WinTV2000, a couple of them I needed to fine tune to get the sound to work properly. Once I installed GBPVR, ALL the channels are all fuzzy & distorted and most with no sound in GBPVR. After this I installed trial versions of SageTV and BeyondTV, both had the same issues. To make a long story short after I tried the FreqCopy with no avail, I added the channels manually as the frequency (since MOST of the channels look good in the Tuning Assistant), but some still don't have sound. I hope I can resolve the audio issue by slightly adjusting the frequency.

Questions:

1.If all the programs (gbpvr/sagetv/beyondtv) have issues with the channels, where does the problem lie?
2.Can I somehow map the channels I get from Zap2it to the channels I have such as 67250000 in GBPVR to channel 4 on Zap2it? Or does someone have a way to get a tv guide to work with frequency channels?

  DVB-T Melbourne Trouble
Posted by: Snarl - 2005-12-06, 11:48 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (18)

Hey, I'm in Melbourne with a Twinhan DVB-T card and Xcard. The Xcard works fine Smile but I'm having trouble with the DVB side of things. Sad

My Settings -

Recording Source: BDA Recording Plugin
then choose Device Type: Twinhan DVB-T

It's the EPG Source bit thats got me stumped, I'm having trouble creating an XMLTV file, tried a few programs like EPG Runner and TV Harvest and a few others which I've since deleted but not having any luck.

All I wanna do is tune in the TV channels 7,9,10 etc. I really don't care about the TV guide can anyone help me?

  gbrecord parameters
Posted by: klunde - 2005-12-06, 10:54 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (3)

Hi, two questions.

1) I've downloaded gbrecord92.zip but when I run the program it says:
INFO GBRECORD v0.91 initializing

Do I have the wrong version?

2) Where can I find a list for the different paramters to use with recording profiles? I've tried to compare with the inifile for WinTVCap but still there are a lot of parameters without any info. I.e. What is OutputType = 14 ?

  Forum change suggestion.
Posted by: hardie - 2005-12-06, 10:27 AM - Forum: Wishlist - No Replies

Hi,

Just like to say thanks for the great product and support.

One thing I really like about GB-PVR is the ability to add plug-ins and the news/support of any new/updated plug-ins.

One thing that I'm not so interested in is ability to change the skins of GB-PVR.

I'm sure I'm not the only one that has an interest in one, but not the other. My question is it possible to split the announcement/support forums so that there are seperate ones for plug-ins and skins rather than having them combined.

  Best IR Blaster?
Posted by: dickfink - 2005-12-06, 07:40 AM - Forum: Hardware - Replies (1)

Hey,

I recently purchased a hauppage pvr-350 which works great except for the fact that it won't change the channels on my directv box. Now I know that I need an IR Blaster, but am wondering which one is the best as far as price to quality. It doesn't need to look pretty, it just has to get the job done. Right now I'm leaning towards USB-UIRT. But what about something like this? If there is something like the OSB-UIRT that gets the job done for cheaper, then I want to know about it.

Is this cable an option? I don't think it is because it doesn't have a way to recieve IR remote signals (as far as I can tell).

Thanks,

-Dick

  dosen't keep aspect ratio
Posted by: wannabepvr - 2005-12-06, 05:35 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (18)

I have been playing with 0.9511 for a week or so now and all is going well. Good work Sub!

.....except a feature that I was looking particlarly looking forward to

Quote:- Now remembers the last aspect ratio, and will automatically return to that aspect ratio.

Doesnt seem to happen for me. I have tried both VRM9, VRM7 and the aspect ratio does change. But then goes back to the default when played again(4:3?)
