Thanks to Sub and Jeff

Just a quick thank you. My family was watching Lost tonight, and my youngest daughter (1st Grade) wanted to watch something else. So she was able to watch a couple episodes of Popular Science for Kids via GBPVR and the VA plugin, all by herself on the MVP! I fired up the VA plugin, and sorted them by show, and a-z. She went through them by episode title and description and watched them.

  Error - Panic volume buffer?
Posted by: dhwhisen - 2005-12-01, 02:47 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (3)

I am still having problems with corrupted recordings. Running version 94.13, my recordings behave as if the sampling rate is messed up or something, as the file comes out too small, has major jumps/skips during the playback, out-of-sync audio, and an hour recording shows up as 45 minutes or less. I have gbpvr configured to run comskip while recording.

This began happening a few days after I made a fresh install of gbpvr. Worked fine for a while, then this problem started. I thought I had it fixed by dropping the old config.xml into the new gbpvr directory, and it seemed to work for one evening, then started back again.

One thing I have noticed is that the recording's log file (generated by comskip?) is much larger for the corrupted recordings, and contains primarily the error message "Panic volume buffer" repeated thousands of times.

Any ideas?

Thanks.

  Captions
Posted by: wmspringer - 2005-12-01, 01:52 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (9)

Just installed the software, tried watching live tv.

It seems to work fine, except I can't get to the mini tv guide and can't get captioning to come up. I do have captions selected in the setup. All I can seem to do with livetv on is change the channel and exit.

  Net Radio errors in 9511
Posted by: bluwShark - 2005-12-01, 12:36 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (1)

I installed 9511 on a new computer with a fresh load of windows. When trying to use the Net Radio I get the following error "Failed to connect to radio station." It still shows the song name even though it says that it did not connect.

The system creates the gbnetradio-0.mp3 and I can play that in Windows Media Player.

The following is from the GBPVR.exe.log file:

  2 questions
Posted by: UFGraymatter - 2005-12-01, 12:31 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (2)

I have played around with a few video decoders:

MainConcept, Nero, and Cyberlink, but with those I get a diagonal line while I'm watching during fast movie scenes - sports for example. I'm using a PVR-150, and Radeon 9200

Also - what is the best setup for my harddrive. I have two hard drives - one 120 gb w/ XP, and one 40 gb w/ Linux that I will remove if it's better to record onto a second drive.

Thanks,
Ryan

Trying to get the auto-convert function to work. If I select any codec other than WMV. This text shows up in read under the list box...
"This transcoding option required the Elecard MPEG2 filters to be installed"

What does this mean???

  MVP Tray Icon 1.0.4

An updated version of the MVP Tray Icon plugin has been posted to the wiki here:
Plugin MVPTrayIcon
When used with GB-PVR v95.11 or newer, the tray icon will now display the "idle" state when an MVP connection is established.

  Comskip, comclean2, and other processing.
Posted by: reboot - 2005-11-30, 10:21 PM - Forum: Old Stuff (Legacy) - Replies (7)

I'm taking a stab at getting the newest comskip running again.
I've got SA working perfectly, but it doesn't output cuttermaran, and my videoredo trial ended Wink
So...I'm trying to use comskip, comclean2, and renamerecordings.
I have comskip running during the recording, no problem.
It's outputting all the stuff I want, and with a little tuning, I should be OK.
Then I have (in postprocessing.bat) comclean2, which seems to be doing it's thing nicely.
I then have renamerecordings...and here's where I get messed up.
Because comskip outputs the cutlists before the file is renamed, they become useless. If comskip has worked properly, then comclean has given me a useable mpg. If comskip has missed, and comclean has cut a portion of show out, I still want the option of manually cutting the file, using the cutlist, but everything has been renamed. I have to open the .wme (for example) in notepad, copy the original name of the show, rename the mpg, then manually edit.
Is there any way around this?
Can I rename before comskip/comclean, or is there another way?

Second problem. With multiple tuners, I often have shows that end at exactly the same time. It seems that comclean only runs on the first show (I have no idea how it chooses which one of the 3). They all seem to get renamed properly.

Problem 3. My initial cut list is dead accurate, but the final cutlist only represents about 1/3 of the actual commercials. What am I supposed to change to rectify this? I can't figure it out, and I've been through the tuning manual at least 9 times. Big Grin

Request for gbpvr to support other mpeg-2 decoder cards.
Posted by: jc8472 - 2005-11-30, 09:50 PM - Forum: Wishlist - Replies (3)

It would be good if the Chaintech Xgi Volari V3 card is supported. This video

card has DVI, s-video, and vga out and does hardware Mpeg-2 decoding

according to the chaintechusa.com website and the product manual !!!

Can Hauppauge remote control TV volume?
Posted by: Pinan - 2005-11-30, 09:04 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (2)

Hello Guru's.

I know that (and have done) the remote can control Windows Volume Control, but can it be made to control/learn the TV volume itself?

Sorry if this is a dumb question. I searched for the answer to no avail.

I don't have PC speakers attached to my TV, nor do I wish to.

PVR 350 w/45 button remote.

Thanks
