  v95.11 fixed Scott's MVP issue !
Posted by: scott - 2005-11-30, 02:27 PM - Forum: MVP & NMT - Replies (3)

If you remember all my whinning over the past couple weeks - I had an MVP that was working with the Menu's, but didn't work to play Video (I got a black screen each time). MVP worked fine (including video) using the Haupp software.

Athough Sub, tipster, and members of this forum had give me alot of advise, I had given up and now have S-video cable routed through my walls! Since I was waiting for a good rebate on a tv out pci card, when I saw the 95.11 update posted, I decided to apply the update and power up the MVP to see what would happen...

And the MVP now works! Don't know why, but I'm not complaining! Thanks Sub for you attention on the MVP portions of the program in this release!Big Grin

  No audio in 9511
Posted by: two55309 - 2005-11-30, 02:25 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (11)

Back when i upgrade to 9413, i had this same problem. Whenever i go to live tv, the volume on the wave mutes, and sound does not work. I can then bring up the advance sound and adjust up or down the wave and it will work. sometimes the wave will be stuck halfway up and all you have to do is click it and it works.

it only does this with gbpvr. and it only happens when you go to watch tv. and you can adjust it before you go to livetv , and then after the wave has moved back down.

things i've tried: deleting the registry key for volume level, removing the volume controls in the irremote.ini file (hoping this would leave the sound up the the remote program). i'm also using that set of drivers that sub sent me (the pre-release ones), and this fixed the problem last time, but does not seem to be helping now.

thanks

  Remote control MVP from computer
Posted by: Shader - 2005-11-30, 02:01 PM - Forum: MVP & NMT - Replies (1)

From the Hauppauge website i can download a batchfile which displays a copy of the mvp screen on my computer.

Is there a way to do this with GBPVR ?

I would like to control my MVP with my laptop since it is in another room.

Resume from standby and channel changing
Posted by: amac - 2005-11-30, 02:01 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (3)

For scheduled recordings, gbpvr does wake the computer from standby but the channel change does not function (works fine when the computer is fully awake). My computer takes anywhere from 30-120 seconds to be fully responsive when waking from standby. This is because it often pauses up to 3 times (presumably to wake or look for devices).

Does gbpvr have a configurable delay before issuing a channel change when waking a computer from standby?

GBPVR doesn't change channels on scheduled record and no dvd audio
Posted by: jasonlava - 2005-11-30, 01:30 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (8)

Hi all. I just installed GBPVR and I love except for 2 issues I'm having.

I'm using the Hauppauge IR blaster to control my STB. It works fine for changing channels on live tv but when I schedule a recording, it doesn't change the channel so I get the wrong show recorded.

Also, when I play a DVD there's no audio:confused: .

Any ideas? Thanks.

Otherwise, GB's awesome. It looks very user friendly and works great with the Hauppauge remoteBig Grin .

  Online remote control button help
Posted by: pbj - 2005-11-30, 12:52 PM - Forum: Wishlist - Replies (1)

I think this is more of a request to plug in developers than sub...

I use GBPVR almost exclusively though an MVP, often (and mainly when using plugins) I know I can do something, but have forgotton which remote button to press (often trying to zoom in mypictures). It would be great if pressing, say, the GO button popped up a context sensitive button map to remind me what does what.

This shows how much GBPVR is ingrained in the way I live my life - I'm looking for something to stop me having to scamper upstairs to log on the the WIKI!

  DVR-MS Files
Posted by: mrphil - 2005-11-30, 11:32 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (13)

Hi,

Im looking to use GBPVR purely with MVP's to view my XP MCE dvr-ms recordings from the main HTPCV in the living room around the house. Im going to install a couple of extra tuners in the HTPC so the MVP's can show live TV.

All existing recordings are on dual Nova-T DVB-T tuners.

A couple of issues;

When I try to play back DVR-MS recordings on the main pc using GBPVR, the Nvidia icon briefly appears in the task tray then dissappears. The file never plays. I read in another thread that you need the Cyberlink mux installed to playback DVR-MS, which Mux checker says I have. Do I need to do something else to get this working?

For the WAF, Id like to have the MCE recordings show under Recordings with proper names rather than the file name in GBPVR, but when I put the files in the recordings directory they never show up. Presumably, I need to create some utility to generate the correct metadata for my recordings, but where is this stored in GBPVR?

Cheers in advance.

  FFMpeg and Aspect Ratio
Posted by: OneMTsack - 2005-11-30, 10:50 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - No Replies

I know this has been talked about before and I never did find a solution to my problem. Now with the inclusion of FFMpeg, I thought I'd try that for my transcoding. I've been playing with the settings for it in the config.xml and havent been able to find a solution.

With the default settings, I am trying to play a video that has a screen size of 640x272, a letterbox or somewhat of a 16:9 aspect ratio. With the defaults, the image height is being stretched on the screen. When I remove the -s 352x240 setting, the video plays fine but now I have the black border on the bottom of the screen. This is also how it plays when I do not use ffmpeg. I've tried to get ffdshow to work but for some reason it isnt executing on my machine. I've loaded the .grf file and viewed what is being used and it doesnt show up.

My question it, Has anyone found a FFMpeg setting that will play videos and resize the screen automatically while maintaining the aspect ratio of the video without having the black border on the screen?

Thanks!

GB-PVR 0.95.11 "Failure in ChannelFactory" updating EPG
Posted by: Hayden - 2005-11-30, 10:03 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (8)

Hi,

I've just upgraded to GB-PVR 0.95.11 which seems to be working well, but the EPG update fails with

Failure in ChannelFactory:ConfusedtoreChannels(): The field is too small to accept the amount of data you attempted to add. Try inserting or pasting less data.

I'm using listing2.xml from bladerunnerpro, which worked with the previous version of GB-PVR when adding the channel info as per

http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php?t=10438

I read that 0.95.11 should be able to read the file anyway, but neither the native xml file or the edited one seem to be able to load.

I've attached the listing2.xml file if it helps

Thanks
Hayden
