Hauppauge 350 (splitting audio from decoder)
Posted by: SuperGnome - 2005-11-26, 06:25 AM - Forum: Hardware - Replies (2)

Hi there,

Anyone know of a way to use the built-in hauppauge 350's video out but use a different renderer for audio?

I only have one pc for the moment, and it's my media center and regular PC. It does double-duty so I like to use the hardware decoder on the card, but then it won't play mp3's where I want (plays them on the pc). I have a mobo with onboard sound and an audigy2 zs. I use the zs for my pc and would like to use the mobo's audio for my media center. The problem is, if I hook the audio up to my mobo, the living room only gets mp3 sounds, radio, etc... If I play an mpeg there is no sound because it's trying to go through the card. If I hook both up to the 350 I get awesome audio/video from mpegs but nothing from mp3's. *8(

I'm thinking there's no way around this, as the decoder just does it all.

  GetAudioPlayList method - MVP
Posted by: Hunter Sun - 2005-11-26, 06:12 AM - Forum: Developers - Replies (8)

Howdy,

I've been working on my first adventure into plugins and have run into an oddity. Wondering if anyone else has run into it before.

I'm attempting to discover when GBPVR has switched to a new track.
I haven't seen a OnTrackChange event for GBPVR so am attempting to use the GetAudioPlayList for the CurrentIndex, TrackDuration, and Playbackposition.

All works perfectly when running it from the PC. However, when calling from within a MVP instance I get back all 0's.

Is this a bug, known feature, or am I calling something incorrectly.

Thanks,

- Scott

  Videos wont play on MVP
Posted by: mr pibbs - 2005-11-26, 05:40 AM - Forum: MVP & NMT - Replies (8)

Long time reader, first time poster...
So, my problem is that everytime i try to play a video in GB-PVR via MVP I get a black screen and am returned to the menu i came from. Sometimes the server crashes, sometimes not. I've tired all sorts of things, and videos seem to play fairly well with Happauge software, but GB-PVR interface is just better. Any ideas of what to look for/think about?
Thanks

  MVPScreenPostion Error
Posted by: DeadRun - 2005-11-26, 04:16 AM - Forum: Old Stuff (Legacy) - Replies (2)

This post is to document the solution to an error that took me a few horrible days to solve - and I am sure we have all had those days.

I installed the MVPScreenPosition plugin (which I think is really nice - now). After installing the plugin and trying to get the screen postions set on one (I have two) MVPs, the MPV would only give me the following error "Trying to Connect to Server". Since I had only recently installed the second MVP through a wireless Access Point (using two Linksys WRT54G and HyperWRT firmware), I incorrectly assumed that the error was associated with that setup. I assumed this even though it had worked perfectly up to that point (only a few hours). The real problem was related to setting the MVPOffsetY to a negative number. I incorrectly assumed that this would move the screen position to the left. Obviously, I was wrong and this caused the "Failure to Connect to GUI Server" error.

So, if you get connection errors after changing the settings of the Screen Postion, make sure you do not have negative values for any of the settings.

If this is universally not allowed for the screen postion, it would be nice if the MVPScreenPostion plugin would trap negative numbers in the settings validation and therefore prevent this error by newbies like me.

Hope this helps somebody spend a few days of their life better than my last few.

  Support for .mkv files
Posted by: infernal_halo - 2005-11-26, 03:09 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (1)

Is there any type of support for viewing .mkv files through gbpvr? I have the mkv codec installed but it doesn't recognize any of the files.

Shutdown computer when current recording session completes
Posted by: Mister Slimm - 2005-11-26, 02:56 AM - Forum: Community Announcements - Replies (3)

The latest release of my tray app allows you to automatically shutdown your computer (or put it in standby etc.) when the current recording session has finished.

See this forum thread for details and download from my website.

Next up: I shall add a wiki page, methinks.

  Are these things configurable?
Posted by: dissuaded - 2005-11-26, 01:50 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (4)

1. When I choose a program from the TV Guide, I'd like to swap the "Watch" and "Exit" buttons.

2. I'd like to move the numerical display when I enter a channel number from the lower left to the upper left.

I'm sure these will be my first of many, many questions. I've been using GB-PVR for less than a week. Great application so far.

  -OnlyUpdateEPG end task required
Posted by: Mister Slimm - 2005-11-26, 01:24 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (21)

I have searched through the forums but have not come across anyone else with the same problem. If I can supply any more information than below, please request.

To create: I am using GBPVR v0.94.13. If I run GBPVR.exe with the -onlyupdateepg option or if I select Update EPG from the GBPVRtray.exe context menu, a small window titled "Information" appears with the text "Updating EPG - please wait".

The problem: The message never moves onto the next phase. If you move the mouse over the window, it is an hourglass. The window cannot be closed using the close button, Alt+F4 or the context menu on the task bar. To close it, I need to end task it from task manager.

My actions: This has happened on the last few versions of GBPVR for me (sorry, I dont remembered when I first noticed it but it happened before v0.94.13). With this latest version being the version for a while, I decided to empty my EPG, delete my recording sources, uninstall GBPVR and delete the devnz folder. I reinstalled (v0.94.13), re-added sources, setup my EPG (bleb) and it didn't make any difference. (It did get rid of a residual crashing skin issue though and the occasional appearance of an "object reference..." error, which was cool!)

Notes: The automatic EPG updating works fine, as does the Update EPG button the Config.exe utility.

The following is the gbpvr.exe.log file taken after running gbpvr.exe with the -onlyupdateepg command line parameter:

Code:

Video Archive Plugin not showing with MVP
Posted by: Muttley - 2005-11-26, 12:42 AM - Forum: MVP & NMT - Replies (18)

Guys, thanks for a really first rate forum. Thanks to the info here I've read and browsed my way through many problems and have my NOVA-T and MVP with gbpvr recording and playing back a dream. Credit to Sub and all contributers....

And so on to my problem. I have installed the Video Archive plugin and have it showing on the menu when I view the PC. When I fire up the MVP its not there?? The DVD Ripper and DVDtoMpeg features are however. It may be something really simple in the config but I can't pin it down. When I view the "Video" button from the pc menu, recordings are listed by date and not by name?? I can't find anything via the search about these problems and they have me stumped. Ive done lots of rebooting - unplugging etc. still no "video" button on the MVP menu??? Hope this is the right forum if it needs to be under plugins please move it over.

Hauppauge 90002 - No live TV?
Posted by: proxy - 2005-11-26, 12:42 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (16)

Hi,

I have just bought the above card and have naturally ditched the included software for this impressive software...

Unfortunatly I am having problems watching live tv..

I have disabled Enable Live Preview mode, but when I try to view the live stream the screen says

"Starting timeshift mode TV"

it then bombs out and displays -

"No tuners available to watch the selected channel. You can choose to watch one of the currently recorded programmes"

Thanks in advance for your support
