Am thinking of starting over, I don't want to reformat my PC, that's just too much hassle. I just want to startover with a clean GBPVR setup. Is there an easy way to do this, removing all system setups, plugins, skin, registry settings, etc.
Anybody who had experience in doing a reset minus the OS reformat? Appreciate anybody's thoughts on this. Thanks
I have a new MVP that is giving me fits. My GBPVR machine is in the basement wired into a 4port wireless router. My MVP is also wired to the router. I cannot get past the "connecting to server" screen.
This is what I know:
DCHP is turned on for my router and is handing out IP addys to my GBPVR machine as well as a wireless laptop connection.
Firewall is currently disabled.
I am able to get the MVP to connect to the Hauppage software, but not to GBPVR when I stop the hauppage software.
I have set the # or servers to autostart to 1 in GBPVR config.
GBPVR MVP server is running.
I know I'm getting sick of running up and down the stairs so much.
I also know that my wife is pissed cause she can't watch the episode of Desperate Housewives I recorded for her (I swear its for her!!).
I got GBPVR to work once yesterday (and it worked really well), but I don't know how I did it. Then when I went into GBPVR config to tweak some settings (only autoskip feature and MVP Screen Position) it wouldn't reconnect tonight. Please help. I'm sure its something dumb. I'm not a huge networking guru or anything so if you could use small words it would probably help. Thanks
Does anyone have a clever way that they sync their main GBPVR installation with a secondary computer such as a laptop? I know there is no gbpvr functionality that provides this as of the present.
I was thinking of using a program like syncback to copy over files (including the gbpvr program folders and a transcoded recordings directory) to my notebook on a regular basis. If anyone has a working setup I'd be curious as to how you do it.
I think I'd be great if there was some module that could be added which would permit scheduled backup to a notebook or other portable device in a transcoded format. I think the same technique could also probably be used to move properly transcoded files to a video iPod, although I do not have one.
