Hi, do anyone know of a remote controller which will power on the computer, or wake the computer out of standby or hibernation. I am tired of pressing the mouse and keyboard buttons to wake up my computer from hibernation. I was thinking about using a MCE remote to power on or wake up my pc by enabling wake on usb port in the system bios. The hauppauge remote never woke my pc, even when I enabled "wake on pci bus" in the system BIOS. I was thinking about buying a serial to usb adapter just in case the wake on usb function fails to function. Any suggestions?
I listen to a lot, I mean a lot of audio books. It would be nice to be able to continue where I left off in a mp3. I am not sure if we can stream just part of the mp3?
Last night I was playing around with GBPVR, running some test recordings to see what I could and couldn't run in parallel, and I noticed that one of my recordings didn't stop when I thought it would. When I checked the program guide, I noticed that ABC ran Desperate Housewives from 9:00 until 10:02. And the guide was pretty well correct. At 10:01, the program hadn't ended. So in order to watch the end of Desperate Housewives ABC is forcing you to sacrifice 2 minutes of the beginning of your next show. That's getting nasty. Fortunately for us, the next show we wanted to watch was on ABC. Otherwise, I'd have been ticked.
I haven't run into this yet, but what does GBPVR do when there is a 2 minute conflict?
I am having a problem getting gbpvr to recognize the FM tuner on my card. I have an Avermedia M150. I did download and regsvr32 the lame.ax file mentioned in an earlier posting. When I try to have gbpvr scan for stations is gives me an error saying "Unable to locate and available FM tuner". Yes, my card does have an FM tuner. It would be nice to use it. Any thoughts?

Once in a while, when I have too big of an MPG file that I want to burn on a DVD, I use an authoring program and create a DVD on my hard-drive. Then I use DVD shrink to shrink it down a DVD. Most of the time this works fine, but once in a while, I encounter a DVD Shrink "programming error". It doesn't matter what I do, the error is still there. I can author a DVD fine, but it won't let me shrink it.
Anyone else experience this? Do you have a work-around?
I had a recent setback in my quest in promoting my PVR setup with the wife. I was recording a program while playing a different program through the TV Out of my PVR-350. At about the 45 minute mark of the program being recorded, I paused the playback for about a minute, then hit play. Usually, this results in the playback jumping back about 1/4 second and then resuming. I got the usual 1/4 second back jump, but this time it froze. It would not respond to any input from the remote. I was able to exit playback mode and GBPVR with the keyboard. I restarted GBPVR but then it wouldn't respond to anything except a close, which generated a Windows error. The bad part is that the recording in progress stopped. The systray GBPVR app reported that the program was still recording, but the file size was not increasing. I tried restarting the recording service, and that seemed to work. Unfortunately, it restarted the recording using the same file name, which overwrote the previous 45 minutes of the program. This didn't go over well with the wife (it was one of her shows). I would really like to be able to play a file while recording something else without risk of losing the program being recorded. What could cause the problem I encountered? BTW, this PC is the family computer and is usually running Outlook, Internet Explorer, and maybe a couple of more apps. The recording being played was recorded using WinTV2000, but I've not had trouble with other recordings from the same source, but this was the first time I've tried playback while recording. The recording and playback directories are on a secondary 250GB drive dedicated to videos. How do I need to go about troubleshooting this? Is there a tutorial somewhere explaining the error logs?
Here is one I would like to see:
The ability to fine tune the receiver. I have a couple of channels that when they are detected automatically they have a picture but no sound. The card I'm using is a Hauppauge PVR 150, even when I let the Hpge software detect the channels I have a couple that have no sound, so I have to turn off auto frequency tune and adjust the tuning manually.
