Added PVR150 to PVR500 Setup
Posted by: JakobO - 2005-11-19, 02:30 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (2)

I have at PVR500 setup on MCE Machine - using GBPVR as main recording source and playback. Everything is working fine, however wanted to record from my cable radio channels hence put in a PVR150 for that purpose, however now recordings via the GBPVR shows nothing ... if I add a second recording its working fine, so I suspect that the GBPVR is using the PVR150 as the 1st. source, however cannot figure out how to change this. Showing live TV via the GBPVR is no problem, and recordiing via the MCE interface is also working fine.
Have tried setting the PVR150 as device no. 3 in the "recording sources", also tryed removing the card from the "recording sources", however it has no effect. Still my no. 1 recordings has no picture, and no. 2 recordings works fine!
Can anybody help?
regards

  Auto refresh in TheaterListing
Posted by: Bittermormon - 2005-11-19, 06:45 AM - Forum: Old Stuff (Legacy) - Replies (4)

Noob here, I just got GBPVR installed and running this week and its awesome!!! I have installed a few plugins with success. Thanks to those who have contributed them.

I installed the TheaterListing plugin tonight and I was wondering, how would I go about making my PVR automatically refresh the listings? It would be noce if they would refresh during the middle of the day when I'm at work or something.

I searched a bit before asking and couldn't find an answer, sorry if this had been comvered already.

Thanks,
Zach

mTranscode BETA - automatic encoding of recordings
Posted by: jam_zhou - 2005-11-19, 03:50 AM - Forum: Community Announcements - Replies (82)

Updated Jan 12, 2009!!!! I've uploaded my mtranscode script again since it's been lost.

I put all of these files into it's own directory and configure the following files:
profiles.ini - transcoding profiles
default.ini - default transcoding profile settings
config.ini - custom configurations (e.g. save converted file to a different directory without deleting the original)

in your postprocessing.bat I have the following line:

echo %1 >> transcode_queue.txt

which holds the queue for the mtranscode.vbs script.

I set it up to run at night using windows scheduler.

Jam.z

---------------------------

Hi All,

Since I couldn't get the built in transcoder to work, I've been using mencoder and the suggestions in the forums. It works well, but I wanted more control. So, I wrote a script centered around mencoder.

This is a BETA and I would like others to test it for me. I've been using the core for a couple of days with a few minor adjustments in this final release.

If you have a good mencoder profile please post it here so that others can try.

Suggestions on how to document better as well as how to improve the code are always welcome.

Cheers, Jam.z

P.S. You'll have to download your own version of mencoder. There seems to be a problem when I include mencoder in the zip file. Also I find that some mencoder builds can't handle large mpg files.

---------------------------------------------
Summary:
This program is a script wrapped around mencoder - or any command line encoder. It will run through a queue file and transcode all the files in the queue. This script does not do any transcoding whatsoever, it requires an external transcoder like mencoder.

Features:
-can be run overnight or ASAP
-will transcode according to profile
-can start right after recordings with some additions to postprocessing.bat in GBPVR
-can be configured to use virtually any command line encoder (possibly virutaldub)
-test mode for 120 second transcodes to test quality and correct profile settings
-option to transcode files and put them all into one directory for easy transfer to portable devices

  powerline networking
Posted by: justlivin' - 2005-11-19, 02:45 AM - Forum: MVP & NMT - Replies (2)

Im running the xe102 netgar powerline adapter. Sometimes I get choppy video playback on the mvp using gbpvr or standard hauppauge software. Is there a fix for this? Maybe a buffer?

I tried using defferent video codecs.

  TV Output decoder
Posted by: Big Stan - 2005-11-19, 01:30 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (5)

Pardon the question from a video neubie but...

I have my GBPVR up and running on a P3 833Mhz. Seems to work fine and I have a Nvidia MX4000 with S video output.

I noticed in the config that the choice of decoder makes no difference to the TV out. Is that because it is being decoded by the video card?

I don't have any need to have the video displayed on the computer display and I was wondering if it take extra processor to decode for the display as well as the TV. In other words, could I lower my CPU utilization by not displaying the video on the computer display, perhaps by uninstalling the codecs? Or is there another way.

I would appreciate any light anyone can shed on this.

  Date error creating havoc :(
Posted by: FlamesFan - 2005-11-18, 11:49 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (3)

Hello,

Been a user of GB-PVR for about a year now and have been very happy! I'm not an expert though and I have a basic setup. Last week, I made an error in my Windows Date and Time Properties where a date a week or so later was selected.

I can't remember how long it took me to notice, maybe 5 minutes, maybe a couple hours. But the next time I went to use GB-PVR all my recurrings had failed and when I go to select a broadcast in the guide, it selects the next episode a week later.

Any ideas on how I can fix this? I searched the forum and didn't see a similar problem. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks!

  Replacement GBPVRTray icons
Posted by: Mister Slimm - 2005-11-18, 11:47 PM - Forum: Community Announcements - Replies (10)

Please find attached replacement GBPVRTray.exe icons. They use the G in the recent GBPVR logo (very nice, by the way) as a ring of light.

To install:
1. Find and open your GBPVR folder
2. Make a backup copy (or rename) the files "recording.ico" and "notrecording.ico"
3. Unzip this file directly into the folder.

The zip contains a white G "notrecording.ico" and a green G "recording.ico". The zip also contains a white G, green G and red G icons under their original filenames.

I made these icons for a little project I am having a bash at to replace GBPVRTray.exe with a slightly enhanced version. See forum thread.

Let me add, as have many others, that GBPVR is a tremendous piece of software, without charge or otherwise. It remains the only downloadable HTPC software that worked smoothly for me here in the UK. It really is a wonderful achievement. Congratulations.

  MVP error
Posted by: jasjol - 2005-11-18, 09:23 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - No Replies

I have started to get problems when using my MVP.

sometimes it freezes when I choose live TV - and on the computer there is an error: something like "Net framework error"
and sometimes the MVP does not work at all and there is some error.

another error is: (translated from swedish error message hence the ??)
The ??program has generated an exception that could not be handled
Process-ID=0x87c (2172), thread-id=0xdd0 (3536)
another error I have got is:
Debug assertion failed
Program: C:\program\devnz\gbpvr\GBPVRRecordingservice.exe
File: c:\Program Files\Microsoft visual studio .net 2003\vc7\atlmfc\include\atlcomcli.h
line: 150

Expression: p!=0

for more info... and ther is button for retry etc
Is the above error because of that I use c:\program\devnz\gbpvr
instead of c:\program files\devnz\gbpvr ?

Any idea?

another thing - to add a picture - how can I insert without using URL?

Adding the Moonlight M71 muxer to the BDA mux list
Posted by: -stattik- - 2005-11-18, 08:38 PM - Forum: Wishlist - Replies (1)

I've tried the various muxers supported by GBPVR and had various issues. I documented it here:

http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php?t=9831

It seems that other DVICO Fusion users had similiar problems. The DVR-MS muxer works great but postprocessing is limited unless you first convert the file to MPEG-PS.

I've found that the Moonlight M71 muxer works great and I was wondering if it would be possible to add it the list of supported muxes.

I've attached a XML file of the graph I use with the M71. I can add screenshots as well if necessary.

Thanks.
