Any chance of having the channel name included in the information shown for a pending recording? Not a big thing, just sometimes useful when deciding which program to record on the DVD recorder if there's a clash.
The initial release candidate of the Homeseer Plugin is now available and is in the attached zip file.
From the user guide:
The GBPVR Homeseer allows GBPVR to send commands to a running Homeseer application that has the hsGirder plugin installed. This allows the user to create Homeseer events that may be triggered from a GBPVR screen.
The plugin renders a GBPVR screen with 0 to N user-defined buttons. The number N is essentially unlimited by the plugin (2^62 is the maximum number of buttons). When a button is “pressed”, the plugin will send a request to Homeseer to trigger a pre-defined Homeseer event. The Homeseer application receiving the event may be on the same computer, a computer inside a firewall/router (LAN) or a computer anywhere on the Internet.
Buttons are displayed as requested through “appearance configuration” done in the Skin, as with other GBPVR plugins. The buttons may be rendered in a vertical or horizontal fashion. They may be rendered in an array of any number of user-defined rows and columns. Maximum buttons and maximum visible buttons per row or column are definable, as is the wrapping behaviour of the “cursor”. An “Always Centered” appearance is supported and works like the GBPVR Main Menu’s support of this option. Selected and Normal buttons need not be the same size and spacing may still be kept consistent.
The plugin works in two separate “modes”:
1. Menu Mode, where buttons are displayed like any other GBPVR menu (e.g. the Main Menu).
2. OSD Mode, where the buttons are displayed on top of a video that GBPVR is playing.
The plugin may also operate in both modes. Button appearance options (controlled by the skin) are assignable separately to each mode. The same button names and actions (controlled by configuration) are used in both modes.
“Behaviour configuration” controls the Modes that are available and what the buttons name, description, visibility (yes/no) and Homeseer event is – that is, the content.
The Skin controls where the buttons are placed, how many are shown, their orientation, and some other options. The Skin also provides the appearance of Normal and Selected buttons, like any GBPVR plugin. Different appearances are possible for the Menu and OSD version of the buttons. The plugin makes many assumptions about appearance if none is specified.
“Language configuration” is also supported by the plugin. There are 6 plugin literals that may be changed to support non-Canadian-English implementations of GBPVR.

Hi, I just upgraded from 9211 to 9413 (the newest version), but now when I try to run the program nothing happens. It worked fine before with no problems, but now only the config will work and running gbpvr.exe does nothing. I watched in task manager, and the process starts and then disappears 5 seconds later, I'm not sure why. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling with no luck. Is this a bug in the new version or does it require some other drivers / programs?
Okay, I would like some advice on getting a remote. I have a custom built HTPC using GB-PVR that uses a Hauppauge PCTV-150 card /w remote, LG Receiver, GE tv, and a Panasonic VCR that I'd like to be able to control them all with one remote without loosing a lot of functionality. I've been looking at the Sony AX4000. I realize this question is just not limited to GB-PVR, but I'm just curious if anyone has had luck getting rid of their remote clutter. TIA.
The link that the wiki for Dvdauthor goes to says that it will bring me to "precompiled win32 binaries", but when I download the newest version "dvdauthor-0.6.11.tar.gz", all that is in the file is a bunch of files with extensions that are not executables. There are many '.c' and '.h' files which I think mean they are C source code, but I have no idea how to use the files I downloaded with Myvideos. I assume I must need to compile it somehow, but instructions are not given on the so-called "dvd burning dummies guide", so I'm left wondering what to do in order to get things running.
(I guess I'm a bigger dummie than the guide anticipated. lol)
I have just noticed that the musicplayer plugin does not appear to fill the @Album variable for the musicpanel but it seems to work correctly within its own jukebox skin
and also within its own jukebox skin the @Artist variable is actually called @Artitst
could there be a simialr spelling mistake for the @Album variable
I'd like to see an integrated way to burn recorded TV shows to DVD, using GBPVR. It would be even better, if it edited out the comercials Comskip has detected. (sorry if there is already an existing way to do this or plugin, but I looked around and couldnt find anything)
I have a TwinHan Alpha USB using the latest (1.0.4.1) BDA drivers from their web Site.
GB-PVR does not work with the "Out of Box" settings as the driver name seems to have changed (had similar problem in MediaPortal).
The workaround is to edit the section for the video card in the bda.ini file:

Ive just bought a pinnacle 200e and installed the software that came with it(pinnacle mediacenter). Its crashed on me about 4 times this morning and seems like a bit of a lame piece of software in general. I then uninstalled and went to look for an alternative app to run the live tv on.
I ended up here looking at GB-pvr and it looked perfect, im not going to be doing anything other than watch tv and record a few programs now and again so i wanted something nice and simple.
Ive downloaded it and im really confused as to what i need to do to get it working. I dont even know what BDA driver is and where i would find one, and i dont even know if this GB-pvr even supports the 200e. Can anyone give me step by step instructions on what i need to do please??

I have my PVR350 recording well now,but occassionally when i activate live TV or even playback via GBpvr, the audio level is dropped to the minimum. This only happens with GBpvr.
It also will display a black and white picture just as often, and this is rectified by starting WinTV2000 (even whilst GBpvr is running) and it will automatically correct the colour!
What could be the cause of these bugs and how can i rule out if the problem exists with my HTPC or GBpvr?
