  Can't Download GB-PVR
Posted by: kirkland - 2005-11-18, 08:26 PM - Forum: General Discussion - Replies (10)

Everytime I try to download GB-PVR it either doesn't start or gets to 88% and then just stops. I have no trouble download any other programs, can someone host or send me the program. Thank you.

  OSD lockups
Posted by: watcher - 2005-11-18, 07:39 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (3)

Apologies if this has been addressed before, but I've not found mention of it in the forums. I'm having trouble with the TV out display when I try to use the remote while the OSD is showing. In other words, I'll skip ahead with fast-forward which causes the OSD to come on. If I wait for the OSD to go off and then hit FF again it works fine. If I hit FF while the OSD is on it will lock up the TV OUT signal. The display will freeze on the TV but I can get back to the menu on my computer. Usually restarting the gbpvr application will fix it. I tried SageTV and don't have the problem with it but want to stick with gbpvr. I'm running 94.13 on XP Pro, P4 3.2Ghz, 2Gb ram, with USB-UIRT and Hauppauge 350.

Thanks.

Xvid aspect ratio with W2K & Overlay
Posted by: malgernon - 2005-11-18, 06:23 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (2)

Hi,

Just checking the situation with this since I couldn't find it resolved in the forums.

I've a W2K system playing Xvids. As warned in the Wiki, the aspect ratio is wrong, filling the TV screen rather than letterbox.

Have any solutions/workarounds been developed with this? Otherwise, is it possible to get gb-pvr to fire up another media player to play Xvids, rather than manually having to go back into Windows to run Windows Media Player.

Any help greatly appreciated.

Regards,

Tarquin

Option for using "High"-Priority during recording...
Posted by: ghost_zero - 2005-11-18, 05:38 PM - Forum: Wishlist - Replies (16)

Hi,

I would like to see an option (settable via options) that GBPVR-Recording-Service uses "High"-Priority during recording...
And a second one to use "High"-Priority during LiveTV...

That would be great because if e.g. I start FireFox during a video gets recording (Plextor ConvertX) the video may stutter at that time because the recording service did not have enough time for encoding audio...
And therefore "High"-Priority would be good...
Of course, those things also depneds on the CPU-Speed... but as far as I know changing Priority in C# (.net Framework at all) is not that hard... so it should not be that hard to implement... I have done this before...

  Problems..
Posted by: macatticus - 2005-11-18, 03:42 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (6)

I'm having some problems with GBPVR. After a while it will pop up with an error that says something about Run Time errors or something in GBPVRrecordingservice.exe. Also (maybe that had something to do with it), I try to record something late at night and it will record the show and about 5 hours of other stuff. It only stops recording at the correct time If I'm watching it. But I'm still not sure if that works cause I always have to stop it manually. WHAT DO I DO!??!

  UKCinemaListings - Error:Object reference..
Posted by: grazbo - 2005-11-18, 02:47 PM - Forum: Old Stuff (Legacy) - Replies (1)

Hi,

I have installed UKCinemaListings and it normally works great, but every so often when obtaining details of a specific movie I get the error :

- Error: Object reference not set to an instance of an object

Once the error is acknowledged, I can browse as usual, except that the first movie entry always produces the same result.

This has been happening with the "Harry Potter...." listing, so I am not sure if this specific entry has broken the scraper or whether it is something less obvious.

Also - is there anyway to speed up (by caching data ?) the plugin initialisation ?

Otherwise its all great

Thanks

grazbo

  What is this?
Posted by: TVwatch - 2005-11-18, 02:38 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (2)

What is this at top of this picture? I use the composite-out and in. Shall I try the s-video? I have the Plextor PX-TV402U.
Anybody else here working with it? How can I optimize the image quality?

Greetings,

Andreas

  Which video card?
Posted by: PMF - 2005-11-18, 11:50 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (4)

Hi

When I installed my video card, there was big diagonally lines running over the TV. I use the s-video connector. After I installed the PVR 350 the lines became less disturbing, but they are still there. I do not know why the TV card has this effect, as I still use the s-video connector on the video card. The same lines also occur on the PC monitor, which is connected to the same video card (21 pin connector).
What can I do to get rid of the lines? Is a better video card required (I use a FX5200) ?

  Conflicts
Posted by: steves - 2005-11-18, 10:23 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (8)

Does anyone know how the conflict detection works?

I've got shows scheduled that definetely conflict:

22/11/05 0230-0300 Cheers Paramount
22/11/05 0300-0330 Cheers Paramount
22/11/05 0245-0320 Room 101 UK G2+1

Obviously Room 101 and Cheers conflict here (both same tuner), yet
Conflicts shows "Good news no conflicts"

What gives?

Cheers

Steve
