When I start GBPVR and either select a program to watch from EPG or try Live TV I get the following error:
"no connection could be made because target machine actively refused it"
The work around I use is to go into config, select a different capture source, then select and set up the BDA capture source that I have -- Fusion 5 Gold. This solution needs to be reapplied if have rebooted the computer.
As I wrote this, I tried another fix -- I just selected a different MPEG2 decoder. That fixed it. Again, not permanently -- only till the reboot. It seems that saving the config -- which causes the GB-PVR recordign services to restart correlates with the GBPVR working.
What is the root cause of the problem and how can I do a permanent fix?
I am having trouble following the instructions below for installing the xmedia Platinum skin. BTW, does this work with the latest version of GBPVR? My comments are in brackets.
1. Unzip XMEDIA_PV2_1.ZIP
2. Go inside the Desktop folder and copy all the shortcuts to your desktop screen
3. Unzip XMEDIA_PV2_2.ZIP
4. Go into the PLUGIN folder and copy all the plug-in to your GBPVR\PLUGINS
[What does this mean?]
5. Copy ULTRAID3LIB.DLL to GBPVR directory
6. Unzip P L A T I N U M.ZIP
7. Look into the P L A T I N U M for sub folders with the same name, make sure you take the one with the right folders
[Have no idea what this instruction means]
8. Copy ART folder or open the folder and copy and paste *.gif into your GBPVR\ART for XRecord Plug-in
[this is not clear to me either]
9. Copy the main P L A T I N U M folder with sub folders staring with archive to your GBPVR\SKIN directory
10. You should now have GBPVR\SKIN\P L A T I N U M folder
11. Start GBPVR CONFIG
12. IF you have MY PROGRAMS PLUG-IN installed go to step 17 otherwise step 12
[I don't; don't know what that is; this is step 12]
13. Select Plug-in, then click on MY PROGRAMS, then on settings, highlight Applications
[no idea about this instruction]
14. Add this line: C:\Documents and Settings\username\Desktop (for username is what you used to login into Windows)
15. Check Startup with Applications
16. Click okay
17. Click Okay
18. Click on GBPVR
As you can see I am pretty ignorant about skins and plugins, but I would like to learn. The wiki is woefully lacking in basic instructions on how to install and configure skins and plugins esp. for novices. Is there any resource that I can use to come up to speed on using skins and plugins?
I was just wondering if anyone with the WinTV 150 setup has gotten the remote to work with GBPVR? And if so, please let me know what you've done because I can't get it to work for me.
I've been trying to put together an audio CD (my first one) for my wife. I wrote one track to a CD-R for test purposes, but it would seem I can't write any more tracks. Is this normal? Can I overwrite this track to use the rest of the CD-R or is it dead?
I'm using Nero Express. Does using the function "Track AT Once" make any difference.
I'm using main concept dvd encoder /decoder for dvd playback...Works for the most part but is kinda of choppy when people or things move fairly fast..Right now its fine..but like its off and on..IM using an 800mhz celeron with 256mb ram... Dvds play perfect in vlc or wmp..So idk
I have the box checked for "Use Live Preview mode if possible", but apperintly it's not possible on my system. When I change the channel i get about a 5 second lag before the channel actualy channges.
Anyone else have this problem, and able to get Live Preview mode working?
I've got my Hauppauge PVR150MCE working fine in WinTV2k under XP pro SP2. When I add the card in GBPVR it complains the driver is not installed.. But it obviously is since WinTV2k works..
I tried uninstalling/reinstalling. Also tried the non-mce drivers in pure desperation.
Any ideas?
