ok so i installed the video archieve plug-in and the pre-rec software dvd decrpytor, etc setup the directories in the plug-in configuration, but when i try to load up the program in gb-pvr i get an error "access to "C:\ "System Information" is denied?
any ideas
Seen It: How does this factor into CDK for no dupes? I have a few shows recently I have marked seen, but other airings get added. This is bevahoior is like what I'd like it "skip this" function, but how do you tell CDK you don't want an episode recorded (from the remote, prefarably)
Adjust Times in Adv Record: How do these work? I was going to use them to keep my scheduled recordings after a game (adding 13min to the time), but I wasn't sure if I needed to add it to the start, end or both.
I just bought a Linksys 10/100 8-Port switch ($29.00 US at compusa after 2 rebates)
I quickly unplugged everything on the ole 10 mb hub and replaced it with the new 10/100.
Everything works fine except the MVP. It just flashes contacting DHCP server then contacting mediamvp boot server.
I can watch the dhcp client table on the router and the MVP gets the dhcp address and then it dissapears.
This is not a GBPVR issue becasue the same thing happens with the Haupauge services running on another PC.
I got my spare MVP which I just got at Radio shack and replaced the producion MVP and got the the same results.
I can get it working if I plug the MVP and the server (either GBPVR or a pc running mediamvp services) into the 10mb hub - now I uplink the 10mb hub to the 10/100 switch so it sees the router/dhcp server and everthing is cool.
I have replaced cables, switched ports etc.
Could it be that the MVP is just not compatable with the Linksys EZXS88W switch?
The MVP shows up as 100mb when plugged into the new switch but the "Full Duplex" LED is not on.
Manually setting the server connection to half-duplex does not solve the problem.
Im having a problem with gbpvr flaking out or outright locking when im viewing livetv and another recording starts on the other tuner? Is this due to lack of cpu power or ram?
I have 3 desktops in the house and the fastest one is 700mhz. I desperately need a new faster computer (for pvr, making video's, etc). I have found a dell for $599 with XP MCE and a 17" flat panel (Dell 2.8 ghz w/hyperthreading and 17 in flat panel) Should I even mess with building one for myself at that price? If so, what chipset and processors would you recommend? Thanks

I've been using HIP with my MCE 2005 remote and IR blaster to control GBPVR.
HIP - Hip is a program that can learn IR codes and map them to a remote, in this case the MCE2005 remote.
I have set-up HIP to be able to change channels on my STB from the IR codes it learn't from teh STB remote I then mapped them to key messages sent from GBPVR. I was able to surf the channels on my STB in LiveTV. KOOL The only problem was that I could not change the channel on my STB so that GBPVR would record the correct channel at 3am. I would have to leave the correct channel set before going to bed and hope the kids did not change it to Disney Channel
I asked the coder from HIP if HIP would accept channel parameters from GBPVR so that it would change channels for me. He has written a little "exe" program that takes the channel number, and send them to HIP program which will send the IR code to the STB, therefore changing my channel when a recording starts. Brilliant

I have two tuner cards in my HTPC. In the configuration, I have 3 inputs configured.
1. Avermedia M150 with cable TV input
2. Hauppauge WinTV PVR USB2; S-video for satellite box
3. Hauppauge WinTV PVR USB2; cable TV input
I get slightly better picture quality with the Avermedia; I'm pretty sure because my FM antenna on the Hauppauge device brings in a little interference. When I am not using both devices, I would like priority given to the Avermedia. Is there a way to set this?
ok im upgrading my pvr box currently its an athlon xp 2700 with a gig of ddr 400 ram, im questioning which platform would be better the amd 64 (probbly 3000+) or a 3.0Ghz P4 630 EM64T will probbly keep the gig of ram for now, I currently have a PVR 250 and a PVR 500 and am usually recording 2 shows and watching live tv, also should i look into getting a64 bit os, are there plans for upgrading gb-pvr to a 64 bit application? ideas thoughts suggestions?
I've had a lot of problems with recordings not occuring. I have one PVR150 and one PVR150MCE. It happens most often when two recordings should happen at once. When it happens, it appears to be recording in the guide, but no files appear. If I try to cancel the recording in the guide, nothing happens - the show stays red in the guide. I can go into live tv and watch the show that I had tried to record. I managed to catch it when it happened just now, and am pasting in the logs. Any ideas? GBPVRRecordingService.exe.log is logging lots of errors (see below), and did not post a message about finding a new program for the one that failed. Could there be something there about why the recording doesn't happen?
