okay, when i first built my computer (dedicated to gbpvr) i bought a 150. now i'm thinking of upgrading the system. my question is this, is a 250 or 350 offer better picture quality than the 150?

I am generally very pleased with GBPVR, and it appears to create good quality mpeg's. However, I cannot get it to create an MPEG that is compliant to SVCD or VCD standards, despite using the proper encoding criteria. In fact, both Nero and VCDEasy state that the encoding criteria are correct, but describe problems such as bad packets which prevent viewing. With the same encoding formats, the files created in WinTV2000 (which came with my Hauppauge 150) form viewable SVCD's. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Why SVCD? I do not yet have a DVD burner, and SVCD is perfect for a half hour program saved to CD, viewed using a stand-alone DVD player. Anyone having problems creating DVD compliant MPEG's with GBPVR?
Is there any way to customize the menu layout? What I'd like to do is have a different set of choices on the main menu that's displayed on the computer and on the MVP (mainly I want to remove the Live TV from the MVP but keep it in the client).
Also, is there any way to change the order of the buttons in the various sub-menus? I'd like to re-order the buttons in the Recordings menu (I'd like to put the What's New at the top & make it be the default).
I looked in the config.xml file but didn't see anything that looked like it would do what I want. Hopefully it isn' t so obvious that I missed it
I have searched the forum and see that there has been some discussion on this but I am not sure what the final status is. There has been talk of work arounds and manual launches but I can't see definative answer.
....So is it possible to launch the screensaver to an external application? Specifically a .src
ok i have a pvr 250, and a pvr 500 and would like to get tehm to all work in gb-pvr, the setup i currently have is each card has a different device number, and on the pvr 500 one is pvr 500 and the other is pvr 500 with fm tuner, i also updated the epg for each, the question i have is there a way to only have one card dl the xml tv files and have the other epgs just point to the files?

I have been reading the forum and working through most of my initial issues. I am having a problem with the OSD.
I was using VMR9/Nvidia and had some choppy video issues and sound problems. I read in the wiki that VMR9 is not compatible with Win 2k and I can only use Overlay. Fine, I switched to overlay and live TV is great. My recorded shows looked great with both and do not studder.
But, now when I pause, or show the OSD the screen displays snow with a faint image of the tv. The OSD portion looks great. would love to go back to vmr9 but switched originally because the osd did not show up at all.
Anyone have an idea?
