Ok, This is the last thing I need to figure out before my GBPVR box is complete. I'm trying to get GBPVR to change my Motorola cable box correctly. Sub suggested in another thread that I look in the girder forums but the folks there didn't know gbpvr so I'm back here again. Sorry if this in not directly related to GBPVR but I know allot of folks use girder here so I'm hopping someone will have an answer.
I've read forums until my eyes crossed and I can find a good answer. I don't really know anything about girder other that what I've picked up experimenting with this.
Before I found GBPVR I tested with beyondtv. It worked pretty good. It was able to change channels perfectly on my cable box using a serial cable. GBPVR is so much better I really want to make it work so I installed Girder 3.3 and found the snapstream gml with serial commands for channel changing on the Motorola. I combined it with the needed resources from Pub's GBPVR.GML hosted here.
In Girder I can test each command and the proper number shows up on the Motorola's LCD. In GBPVR it seems to be hit and miss. Sometimes it will change to the correct number and sometimes it misses digits. It never works on identical double or triple digits like channel 11 or 33 or 509... If I go to 11 it changes the box to channel 1 If I go to 33 I end up on channel 3, If I go to 509 I end up on 9.
Zero Padding is off in GBPVR. All I got from the girder forums is that it maybe sending them to the box too fast and I need to include a wait command. I experimented with the wait time but I don't really understand what its doing so I didn't get far with it.
Can anyone help a noob? Am I going about this the correct way or is there a better way to accomplish this? My pvr-250 came with some sort of IR dongle but I dont think it will function as a blaster.
My dvr-ms files transcode to MPEG2 perfectly (and quickly)
but I cannot get the xvid transcoding to work. Either gbpvrconvert hangs or crashes.
log file below. I can't work out why it fails to locate filter: Elecard MPEG2 Video Decoder. Any ideas? I am just running the eval atm. I will gladly buy it if it works ok (or do I need to buy it to make it work?)
Also, why is it trying to locat the (outdated?) LAME MPEG Layer III Audio Encoder instead of "(LAME Audio Encoder", which it then appears to find ok.
I have previously had some partial xvid files which appear ok up until the point that gbpvrconvert crashes.
source is analogue from a pvr-350 (normal and low bitrates)
xvid is 1.03
any help much appreciated (this is the only problem i am currently having with gbpvr atm)
If I'm not mistaken, if you delete a recording, it will just return if you restart, or at the next EPG update. If that's true: Is there a way (or way to add) the ability to do a "Seen It" for a single reocrding (that is part of a reoccuring group), that doesn't mark it as watched (so the next occurance can be recorded)?
Zap2It has the episode of Lost scheduled for 3wks from now as being on tonight (next 3wks are actually repeats). If I just deleted it, it would have returned when I did a restart this afternoon. If I mark it as Seen It, I won't get it when it actually airs. If I suspend the Reoccuring, I may forget to turn it back on.
I believe you can edit a file manually to do this, but it may be nice addition via remote if possible.
Btw, did you get your asking for the house after all?
There seems to be an awful lot of threads related to the remote control configuration.
I use the Happauge PVR350 tv tuner and the remote control that shipped together with that. It is neither a 45 button nor a 34 button as you can specify in the GB-PVR Config but a 43 button remote. The 45 button seems to be pretty close to what I need.
However, I would like the Radio button to map to the FM Radio and the Pictures button to map to the "My Pictures"-plugin.
The default 45 button mapping says:
RADIO={f6}
PICTURES={f5}
but that does not do it for me
I've also tried stuff like combinig several commands to make it enter the correct item on the menu. Such as:
RADIO={home}{sleep(500)}{ctrl}{5}{sleep(500)}{enter}
suppose to mean something like - go to main menu | go to the fifth element | enter
For me this would be a really nice feature, don't know how many other users this affects.
I use zap2it in the US, and everytime the lineup changes, the conversion into GBPVR fails. To get the download to work I have to mess with the zap2it and GBPVR settings. While this is a pain, I can cope with it. The real issue is that there is no (visible) notification that the EPG is empty or that the import to GBPVR failed. I only notice it when recordings I expected no longer appear in my ready box. If I used the guide or live TV this would be different, but as it is I just use my pvr to rack up shows to view later.
This has happened twice in the last month, so it is not all that uncommon. Anyway, would be great if in the next recording panel, or something similar you could get a GBPVR type messages like EPG empty or EPG Import Failed.
I like to record in english and my wife in spanish.
We have two dish network receivers with one set to play spanish audio and the other to play standard english. Essentially a dedicated spanish sat box and one for english.
Is it possible to specify which tuner card will record specific programming? Can live TV specify which tuner?
I understand the basic function of GBPVR to grab the first unused input/card. Can I instead specify which one for the purposes SAP (secondary Audio Programming)

Sub,
In attempting to play either FM radio or Web radio I select the channel, and then hit OK, and get:
"Object reference not set to an instance of an object"
Interestingly, the error is at MyPicturesPlugin.GBPVREventViewer.Notify even though:
1. I'm in the radios plugins, not MyPictures.
2. The MyPictures plugin is installed, but deselected in Config.
I'm running 94.13, and using the MVP for playback with the Blue skin.
Logs are attached.
Many thanks in advance.
Bob
