I'd love the functionalty to:
1) When browsing the TV Guide, just select a program and press "Record" on the remote and it would do a "quick record" just like going to the sub menu and selecting the menu item. (Play might start playing a show that's running.)
2) When in the recordings screen, one layer down (i.e. "inside a show" where the episodes are shown), pressing play would start playing, eliminating the need to go into the sub menu and select play there.
Nvidia MPEG2 and CyberLink PowerDVD: Recordings plays back choppy, not constantly, but every minute or two it seems like the image jumps. Live TV (not in timeshift mode) is much worse with choppiness every few seconds.
Intervideo WinDVD: Live TV and Recordings play smooth but the video quality is horrible. Recordings playback so dark that I can barely see anything in some scenes.
Elecard MPEG2 Codec: Live TV and Recordings are smooth and a little brighter then Intervideo WinDVD codec, but still too dark, and lots of lines through the video as if de-interlacing isn't working.
I would try the InterVideo NonCSS Video Decoder for Hauppauge if I knew where it was, but I'm guessing my 500MCE card doesn't come with a MPEG2 decoder since it's the MCE edition?
I've tried using VMR7 and Overlay Manager for each of those, and I also tried replacing the Quartz file which helped with choppiness, but did not eliminate it. I followed the steps on the Playback Wiki page, and yes Windows Media Player plays videos smooth and very nice with Nvidia MPEG2, but VMR7, Overlay in GBPVR make only a slight improvement to playback, still no where near WMP. FFDshow is not installed.
Could someone please tell me if there is a list of user bat files that are run when certain things happen - for instance I think there is a bat file that is run before or after a recording.
I'm particularly interested in being able to determine when:
A recording is just about to start - preferably a minute before GB-PVR sends the IR codes to my Sky box. So my PC can inform me not to use any remote controls until it has changed the channel.
An item has been added to the scheduler. This is for use by my program which forces the PC into standby mode when it determines that there is nothing to record or being recorded for a while.

I have finally got my wireless bridge to work, so I now have two MVPs. One for living room and one for bedroom. It would be lovely if I could use the default skin in the living room (widescreen TV), and a different skin with larger font size for the bedroom (14" portable TV). Potentially implemented by configuring attributes for each MVP's mac address?
Hehehe, well it's something to bear in mind if you ever reach the end of your TODO list eh Sub? ;-)
I have a problem with this set up....I a few of my shows together on the scheduler and nothing seems to be working. Have most shows set to no specific time, no specific channel..........others set perfetly...
Out of all them 2 shows actualy went to pending......
I played around with list arrangments and everything whats going on???....
Got a MSI k7n2 delta2 mobo becouse it has the ability to pump out audio in surround sound. Problem is I've never seen it doing it in the 4 days I've had it set up.
I'd like to know if it might be a gbpve issue, or a hardware set up issue or a mobo driver issue.
So, if some one could let me know if they have a surround sound audio file I can play via gbpvr or windows media player and see if I can figure this out
