I captured a two hour movie with a PVR150, used SA to remove the commercials and imported it into Sony's DVD Architect Studio 2.0. I burned the DVD but the audio went out of sync more and more as the movie progressed.

I had to reduce the bitrate to 3.5 mbps to get it to fit. Don't know is this is the issue. Anyone know what I need to do to correct this?

What's the easiest way to play real video files in gbpvr? Is there a way to transcode these to another format? Thanks...

I'm using VLC to 'transcode' a DVD to a mpeg stream so that I can see them using my MVP's. To do this I'm using this small batch file I made, inspired by the XDVD plugin:

This seems to give me very nice mpeg2 files that appear to work quite nicely, there's just one problem that keeps bugging me: when playing the mpeg files back over the MVP's and 'fastforwarding' or 'skipping', the output just skips miles ahead. Even skipping 'back' is going forward! Itls like the time code in the mpeg files generated by VLC is not correct or something like that. I don't know enough about VLC to understand what could be changed to improve this.

Does anyone have any suggestions on what might be going on and what to try to get this skipping back on track?

I mentioned this in the middle of another topic a while ago, but have done a bit more checking and thought I should re-post it.

Basically I have finally got around to properly skinning XGuide for the FBHV skin (after some friendly reminders and some help from BobAtTorrey ) and I have got everything pretty much as I'd like except that I can't seem to change a couple of the colours in the guide - ie. I change the settings in the appropriate skin, but no change occurs.

I have no problem with the two vertical skins (skin-vert-inline.xml and skin-vert-bottom.xml), but in the main schedule skin (ie the one that most closely resembles the standard guide, skin name: skin-horiz.xml) I can't seem to change the default background colour from black - ie. no matter what I set the NamedColor "NormalListing" to in skin-horiz.xml, it only results in a black background, and I think I have the same problem with the NamedColor "ListingSurround" - see attached picture if this isn't clear.

I have looked through all the xml files available in the skin directory, and can't see any other place to change this colour (eg changing the values of the NamedColors in skin-guides.xml or skin-schedule.xml don't have any effect) - any ideas?

Yesterday evening, we were watching a recorded show, and after finishing, we looked and all of the pending recording were shown as failed. The TV Guide was blank as well. I went out to the config program and updated the EPG (zap2it-USA). The TV Guide was still blank. I rebooted and updated again, and upcoming recording are being shown again (although the first one is now 11/8, which isn't correct). The TV guide is still blank, and further EPG updates and reboots don't seem to fix anything any further.

Any thoughts on how would I get my guide back and get the scheduled recordings to work for the next few days?

There seem to be a lot of different batch files that are used - I was wondering if there was any one place where they were all documented. The ones I know about are
PostProcessing.bat - run after recording finishes, if present automatic transcoding will not run. Will automatic comskip not run if present?
PostUpdateEpg.bat - run after EPG updated
UpdateEpg.bat? - used to update UPG data?
PostConvert.bat? Run after automatic conversion complete?
PreProcessing.bat? used by PvrPowerTray?
Transcoding.bat? Used to transcode divx for streaming to MVP?

I've hunted around to try to find out which batch files can be used for what, but hunting through the forums is tough when you don't know what to look for, and I couldn't find much on the wiki.

I'm sure I've read about something similar on here but I'm having a problem when I plugin my VCR to the composite input on my ATI 550 pro.

I've setup a manual channel for it as said in a PS2 thread I found.

The rub is it shows the video for a couple seconds (in full colour) perfectly fine and then seems to loose it and then just show multi-coloured static. Changing to another channel and then changing back to the vcr the samething happens (good for 2 secs and then gone)

Does the same thing in Virtual Dub too.

Any thoughts? :mad:

Hi!

I have a PVR-150 card with ir blaster.
I can record programs with Hauppauge scheduler.

When I try to record with gb-pvr I get the following message:
"Failed to load resources from resource file
Please check your Setup"

I get this message when I restart the recording service and have selected "Hauppauge IR Blaster Plug-in"!

I have checked 2 log files but I can't find anything useful in them:
GBPVRRecordingService.exe.log
GBPVRRecordingService.exe-native.log

If I select "No channel changer required" I can restart the recording service and record programs but gb-pvr doesn't change channel!

I am very pleased with the gp-pvr in general!
Works perfect for my needs of a pvr!

Ok, everything is installed. The camera has a built in server. Needs no connection to a PC. It has a fixed IP address.

So now what? How can I help?
