Here in Denver, CO channel 5 is CET or Comcast Entertainment Television - the local cable company's channel. I can not select this channel to either watch or to record.
However, it shows up in the list of channels in the GB-PVR Configuration on both of my tuners (Zap2It) as 5 LOOR005 and under the channels tab as 5 SHOW.
The only clue I can think of is that when I first set up my Zap2It account I had a choice between Comcast Cable and Comcast Cable Rebuild. I tried one, updated the EPG and discovered that some of the channels were wrong. So, I changed to the other cable option in Zap2It and that one had the correct channel line up. Then, since version 94.13 had just come out, I uninstalled the old version, installed 94.13 and configured the EPG with the correct settings. So I'm wondering if since the channel list under the Capture Sources for this channel is different than the list under the Channels tab, if that may have something to do with it.
After finally getting audio on my xvid & divx conversions, is it possible to pinpoint why the quality of my xvid and divx is not upto par. Th edivx looks pixelated and the xvid quality has the image warping ? Any solutions ?
So recently I noticed that the GBPVR system Icon tray is not showing up in the system tray. It's loaded in my startup folder, and gbpvr records fine, but it's just not there ( I like it there). If I select it from my startup menu, it shows up. I tried reinstalling gbpvr, and still no luck!
Thanks for taking the time to read this and I apologize in advance if some of these questions are ignorant since I'm a complete newbie and also that this post is rather long.
The error message I keep getting: Error: Unable to load DLL (hcwIRblast.dll)
I set up the TV Tuner card following Hauppage's guide, except that I have not yet hooked it up to my regular TV set using the supplied composite cable. I have installed all the software updates from Hauppage and its affiliates.
The WinTV 2000 seemed to work okay, but when I scheduled 4 programs to record, it only recorded 1 of them, so I decided to try GB-PVR since it was suggested in a user review for the hardware on amazon.com.
Anyway, as the user stated, there's a lot of tinkering to get GB-PVR to work and this is where I run into trouble. I set it up by following the Documentation section, and it seems to work except for the Live TV button. I also noticed that WinTV Remote Controller loads at startup in the system tray and whenever I right-click it and try opening a program from it (i.e., WINTV2K.EXE, WINTV32.EXE, RADIO.EXE), I get an 'Application Not Found' error message.
I have even uninstalled and reinstalled GB-PVR, but with no luck. I did notice that GB-PVR had the same settings as it did before I uninstalled it, so is there a registry key I need to delete if I want to reinstall it so the program has the default settings?
Finally, it seems to me that since everything else seems to work except for the Live TV function and the WinTV Remote Controller, that the problem lies within Hauppage's WinTV Remote Controller, comments please!
If you have any suggestions/comments or can answer any of the following questions, I'd be most appreciative:
1. Do I need to have any/all of Hauppage's software installed for GB-PVR to function properly?
2. Is it possible that my nVidia card with TV-Out is causing/has something to do with this error message?
"Resources not loading from resource file. Please check setup file". This error message follows any attempt to install GBPVR09413.msi on my system. I have pre-installed DirectX9, and Microsoft .Net v1.1, and running XP Service Pack 2. I've attempted installation with and without Norton AV, and windows firewall enabled and disabled, and all running programs shut down. I had previously enjoyed the program before RAM failure eventually led to a forced re-format of the hard drive. All of my attempts at installation of the newer version have failed, and have also tried to re-install the older version (same result). There's got to be something I'm missing but it escapes me. Help or advice would be appreciated. Thanks.
Perhaps I am slow but I haven't been able to find a digital TV capture card for use in the USA. Most of the local TV stations (All of the good ones) now broadcast in Digital as well as Analog. What card do you recomend that will work with GBPVR and receive digital terrestrial broadcast signals?
Like everything else that comes out of Mac, it looks very hot and slick. However, Steve Jobs is probably going to be very protective of the product. The nice thing about GBPVR is that a community continually looks for ways to create a better product, more features, etc... I seriously doubt that Jobs would allow this! Nevertheless, it looks hot!
I am tring to find out why the MyVideo plugin refuses to load. It wont load with no matter what skin I use. I have the current MyVideo installed.
I have made sure that MyVideosPlugin.dll is in the plugin directory and the current skin (Xmedia) is loaded.
If someone can take a look at this log and see if they see what is wrong, that would be great.
By the way, after about a day tring to figure it out, i wiped the drive and installed fresh, only to get the same thing
thanks!
