Hi,

I looked around the GB-PVR web pages, Wiki and the forums and while there is a comment from the author that he will except contributions to help with the development of GB-PVR, I was unable to find how to contribute.

Anybody know the right way to go about contributing? Sometimes there is a way to do this through PayPal...

Can GB-PVR overlay taskbar during playback?
Posted by: WorkForFood - 2005-10-17, 06:56 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (6)

Hi,

First of all WOW, what a piece of software! I checked out most if not all of the PVR software and they all had limitations that made them less then desirable including poor playback, lack of support for remotes, poor performance and sometimes just bad user interface. GB-PVR handled all the requirements and then some. Not sure if the author reads this forum or not, but kudos and congratulations on an excellent piece of work.

For those of you that are struggling at all with poor playback, I found that using the NVidia Pure Video Decoder made everything much clearer and smoothed out the playback considerably. I was originally using Cyberlink decoder but was disappointed in the quality (oddly the qualiy of the Cyberlink decoder was good enough when using the original Hauppauge Win TV 2000 application, the change was only required to improve GB-PVR playback).

I'm almost embarrassed to put forth this question but here goes: Under Windows XP Pro when I have the taskbar auto-hide unchecked AND I maximize GB-PVR I thought the TV / video should take up the entire screen but the taskbar remains showing at all times (unless I auto-hide it).

As you would expect, a bright blue bar with a myriad of colorful icons takes away from the viewing experience. Is there a setting in GB-PVR that will allow me to experience my video in full screen without seeing the taskbar?

BTW: I never auto-hide the taskbar during normal use of the PC, so it is intrusive to have to set and unset this feature to use a single application like GB-PVR.

Any help is greatly appreciated!

Hauppauge PVR-150 Remote not controlling GBPVR
Posted by: fatmosh - 2005-10-17, 06:22 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (3)

I just recently got my PVR-150 and installed GBPVR and everything seems to work fine...except my remote.

I have IR.exe running in the tray, and I did change my Remote Control Source to ".exe Changer Plugin" and pointed it at HaupBlast.exe. However, the remote still won't control GBPVR.

I know the remote itself is working because if I press "GO" it brings up the WinTV interface. Do I need to somehow tell it to control GBPVR instead of WinTV? Even when I manually open GBPVR it still won't respond to the remote (channel change, navigate buttons, etc.)

Thanks for any advice :-)

  Can't Play Music
Posted by: deckhardt - 2005-10-17, 06:15 PM - Forum: Old Stuff (Legacy) - Replies (3)

Great Product, Love the Media MVP integration too VERY cool.

I have not been able to play music from the PC or MediaMVP, I have both Music Library and Music Album installed, and when I select a song or playlist and select play, I get an:
"Error: Object reference not set to an instance of an object"

I've seen troubleshooting references to this error for Video, but not for the music player, anyone have any thoughts on how I might fix this so I can play music?

I don't mind uninstalling and re-installing as I don't have much stuff yet.

BTW, I get the same error when exiting modules like live TV, or Xrecord.

Thanks,

Dave

VA not showing up on menu
Posted by: pgovotsos - 2005-10-17, 05:34 PM - Forum: Old Stuff (Legacy) - Replies (4)

Jeff,
I can't get Video Archive to show up on the menu on a PC. I installed it, looked at it and found it interesting. After noodling around wiki, I faoun and installed xrecord also. I turned off VA from config in case they conflicted. From that point forward I was unable to make it appear on the menu again.

I removed and reinstalled VA with no joy. I wanted to uninstall xrecord, but there doesn't seem to be a way to do that. I then completely removed gbpvr and va (including manual deletion of remaining detritus), new install of gbpvr, restore config.cml & gbpvr.mdb, installed va.

In the config app, it IS above exit and IS enabled. I'm using the default skin (blue) and 94.13 gbpvr. I copied vapanel.xml from \gbpvr\skin\blue\panels to \gbpvr as you mentioned in another post.

Any ideas?
Thanks,
Panagiotis

  Weather plugin problems
Posted by: spike588 - 2005-10-17, 04:45 PM - Forum: Old Stuff (Legacy) - Replies (10)

Hello, for the past few days, I have been unable to get past the 'Select a City in California' prompt where the plugin displays the message "Downloading Weather Forecast". I have not yet been able to select a city and the plugin returns me to the main menu after going to the screensaver.
It is not my internet connection as I have broadband cable and have no problems surfing, remote desktopping to my computer, etc. It worked the first time I installed it, but since removing and reinstalling everything (due to loss of ability to pause live tv), no dice.

  Post Video Archive install lock-ups
Posted by: Thanatosil - 2005-10-17, 04:01 PM - Forum: Old Stuff (Legacy) - Replies (3)

Good morning--

I recently did an update where I installed Video Archive. At the same time, I installed the latest Weather plug-in and XMedia skins. By and large, everything seemed to go smoothly except the following:

1) After the update, all my EPG info was gone and all future one-time recording requests were gone. In addition, all my previous recordings were no longer listed in XRecord or the standard Record menu. The files are still on the drive and intact, but they only appear in the Video Archive version of Recordings. Update EPG in Config cured the first problem, and subsequent recordings are appearing in the standard Record, XRecord and Video Archive Record.

2) Often, while browsing in Video Archive Recordings, GBPVR locks up. The only way out is to use Ctrl-Alt-Del to end the application. On restart, all features work fine, but eventually I lock up in VA Recordings again.

Anything I can send/post that will help troubleshoot these issues?

Thanks!

  Hauppauge PVR-150 - No Video
Posted by: PsychoD - 2005-10-17, 03:52 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (3)

I have spend a few hours searching forum with no results. Pretty standard setup, digital cable box to pvr-150 with RG6. The ir blaster works fine. I can get audio on all channels but no video.

Setup:
Direct Recording Plugin
External Tuner, Fixed Channel (#4) tried (#3) but get nothing.
Tuning = Cable

What should me settings be under the playback tab?

Anyone have any ideas???
