  Net Radio Plugin
Posted by: psycik - 2005-10-11, 07:35 AM - Forum: Developers - No Replies

Hi

I'm trying to write a varation on the Net Radio plugin. Looking for some help though. Can get a stream started, but need some help to play it while it's downloading. Looks like whatever I'm using to write out the file, is locking it open, and I don't know enough to figure out another way of doing it.

Anyone with any ideas would be appreciated.

Cheers

  Best nvidia TV Out card
Posted by: Tre - 2005-10-11, 05:50 AM - Forum: Hardware - Replies (3)

Anyone have any opinion on a good nvidida TV out card? I want to be able to do custom resolutions. Only used on the HTPC, no monitor attached. Currently using the onboard SVIDEO, but the quality is horrible.

  Unhandled exception
Posted by: sonicmix - 2005-10-11, 04:37 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (2)

After an update\reinstall of 94.13 I'm getting this error:

"An unhandled exception has occured in your application. If you click Continue, the application will ignore this error and attempt to continue. If you click Quit, the application will be shut down immediatel

File or assembly name NativeUtilities, or one of it's dependencies, was not found."

This .dll does exist in the /GBPVR directory.
I receive this error after install\upgrade and during config.
I had a MDAC issue, but I resolved that and the problem persists.

Any help on this would be greatly appreciated as I am missing some much needed TV.

  Forced reinstall
Posted by: tnkrtrn - 2005-10-11, 04:25 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - No Replies

Been using gbpvr for a while now. Everything has been running great and then all the sudden the motherboard died. I've got a new motherboard but you know how WinXP is. You gotta reinstall. So I have a spare 30gig that I plan on using as my c: drive and 2 160gig maxtors I'll use as my recording drive.

Problem is I had a different setup before. 60gig c: drive where my recordings went and if that was getting full I archived to my d: drive (xrecord). I still have all my recordings and my gbpvr files. Can I install the new version (haven't updated in a while) and move my records onto my new d: drive and then change and import the information into the db file and save everything I had or am I sol.

Thanks

  MyMusic Error.
Posted by: djdafreund - 2005-10-11, 03:55 AM - Forum: Old Stuff (Legacy) - Replies (3)

Oops. What causes this one? Went to play around more with things and get this error. After wards, no more control.

Error: Method Not Found:Void MyMusicDatabase.Musictag.UpdateDuration(Int32)

I tried unzipping all the files again, as well as unzipping a new database into the GBPVR directory, but still get this error. Doesn't happen with your other plugins. Just MyMusic.

  MyPictures 3.0.0.0
Posted by: gsigso - 2005-10-11, 02:34 AM - Forum: Old Stuff (Legacy) - Replies (6)

I have previously reported a problem with the random slide show working with the Beta versions. I noticed something interesting this evening. The official release had been made with a request to close the comments to the beta versions. Sad Some of the info from the beta version report is repeated here.

The way I use my setup. The machine that runs GB-PVR is a family computer used by myself and wife. Mostly on all day, off at night (varies between standby and off). I'm attempting to get proficient enough with GB-PVR, MVP, and networking to replace the Time Warner DVR.

Observation:
MyPictures does not remember the "Show animations while navigating/entering" selection.

When I start GB-PVR via the MVP and and check the setting the "Show animations while navigating/entering" is on (yellow) regardless of how I set and saved it when I last ran GB-PVR (either from desktop interface or MVP). When I turn this feature off and then start the random slideshow everything works as expected. New pic at the specified interval. Spouse and children were very happy at this point. :p If I do not change this setting and leave the "Show animations while navigating/entering" on and run the random slideshow then only the first pic shows. I can change pics by pressing (skip, ff, right arrow) on the MVP remote after the delay interval.

DVD recordings only one command then freeze
Posted by: gunterhausfrau - 2005-10-11, 02:05 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (4)

I have DVD's recorded with DVD decryptor. When I play them back through GBPVR, I can only do one "command" either from the keyboard or the remote (jump ahead, FF, rewind, etc) from that point the video still plays but the program no longer responds (can't jump ahead again, stop, anything). I have to use the task manager to stop the program (it is listed as no longer responding). I don't think this was the case in earlier versions (several back, I have had the issue for a while). Anyone else have this problem? solutions? suggestions?

I really like the program, and it works well with shows recorded from TV (350) or from videos that I have made (video cam), just not the dvd's.

help.

  Zap2it Issues!
Posted by: Broadband - 2005-10-11, 01:41 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (7)

Here is the situation: I can't get Zap2It to update my EPG.

Here is my setup:

Windows XP SP2 Freshly Installed
- .NET 1.1 with Service Pack
- Windows firewall disabled

GB-PVR v0.94.13

Created a Zap2it account and also created a current lineup.

If i put in an incorrect username and password and hit Update EPG i get a near instant error telling me my setup is incorrect which means I'm talking to the Zap2it login server.

If i put in my CORRECT username and password and hit Update EPG it says:

Requesting listing information from Zap2it.com

After about a minute it times out with the error "Your EPG source does not appear to be configured correctly"

If i'm able to talk to their server and if my login and password work on their site AND I have a current lineup setup what is the problem?

Thanks in advance!

Here is my log when I input the incorrect username and password...note the server response:

  My Pictures 3
Posted by: reven - 2005-10-11, 01:28 AM - Forum: Community Announcements - Replies (9)

i just released my pictures 3 after months of beta testing, it should be pretty good/stable now it has many new features, to many to list all (and i forgot most of them), but here are some

- webimages (info based on xml file)
- music panel to show current playing song
- image transistions
- menu transistions
- folder thumbnails (2x2 images similar to xp folder icons)
- settings window (allows you to change key settings from within the plugin)
- supports windows shortcuts to image files
- playlists are now accessible via a popup menu in fullscreen
- remote/key commands can be altered in the keycommands xml files (just like the core plugins of gbpvr)

heres a sample webimage xml file called "mywebimage.xml"

Code:
<webimage>
    <url>http://www.katkam.ca/pix/pic.jpg</url>
    <refresh>300</refresh>
</webimage>
refresh is the number of seconds it will download a new image.

thanks to SmegHead for writing the zooming code (keeping the image centred when you zoom in).
and i suppose thanks to mediaportal and xbmc for ideas ( i stole the zooming map from xbmc and transisitions from mediaportal).

download at the wiki :
http://gbpvr.com/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Plugin/MyPictures

ps if you think that wiki page is insufficient and would like to see more detailed information about the setup/use of my pictures, then write it yourself, i cant be bothered.
