For some reason, E4 appears horizontally 'squished', with the picture, and then a blank area to the right.
Has anyone else had such a problem? For some reason, when I play the file back in GBPVR, it's fine, but if I try to play it in MS Media Player or PowerDVD, it's wierdly compressed with a random blank section to the right.
I have USB DVB-T pen (Hanftek UMT-010). By linux kernel drivers docs this one should be clone of/to Yakumo/HAMA/Typhoon. HAMA USB DVB-T has BDA drivers available. So, if I install this hardware with HAMA BDA drivers, is it possible to use this one then with GBPVR? If so, then how? What card type should I select from Config? What more do I need?
I had problems when returning from live-tv with back/exit and menu key. It just showed black and blank screen and didn't respond to anything until I killed task. Problem resolved when updating Hauppauge drivers from hauppauge.de web to latest ones (2.0.34.xxx).
Im buying a new pc system soon and wish to connect my Grundig skybox to the pc to create a pvr. Ermmm Im really confused which tuner card to choose as im quite new to this pvr thing.
SO can you please help me? First of all, is it easy to capture sky tv on a pc? What tuner card should I buy ? I prefer something else than hauppauge as they dont seem to be sold over here.ANy of these any good ? - http://www.mtmalta.com/productsearchresults2.asp
I have a two tuner setup... Occasionally I want to record two programmes which are broadcast back to back on one channel. Let's say these are on from 2100-2200 and 2200-2300.
If I then want to record a programme on another channel which overlaps these programmes (say it's on from 2130-2230), the TV guide will not allow me to schedule it, telling me to cancel one of the two programmes I already have scheduled on the original channel.
I presume both tuners are recording the same thing as pre/post-show padding. So is there any way around this issue?
I am having absolutely no luck editing or compressing files I've recorded in GB-PVR from my DVB-T tuners. I want to edit out commercials then either compress to DivX or convert to DVD format. So how do you guys do it? Is there a foolproof way?
For editing I have tried:
- Using the Cut facility in TMpgEnc. This results in a perfectly cut video, however the results seem to be compressed to a ridiculously poor pixellated level. How can I get it to just cut the video without recompressing or changing format at all?
- Using Mpeg2Schnitt. This crashes during the cutting of any of the videos I give it. Then I read that when using DVB it is useful to...
- Process the video using PVAStrumento. However the current version (2.1.0.15) crashes as soon as I try and open any of my videos. I tried an older version (2.0.30), and used the "make PS" function. But this just produces a file that is corrupted in some way. The file is the same size as the original. But when I play it in media player it plays the first few seconds then stops. And Mpeg2Schnitt and TMpgEnc both reject it.
Any chance of being able to set a configuration item to set programme descriptions to a mouse over pop up rather than displayed all the time (kind of a MythTV rip off - see http://mr.geek.nz/epg/online/ for an example).
This would allow the channel rows to stay at a consistant size rather than having to resize for large descriptions.
is Pre- and Post-Show-Padding also for "Manual Recordings"? I am asking this because sometimes it does include Pre- and Post-Show-Padding and sometimes not... I would like that it does at least never work (then I just add those minutes manually)...
I just discovered this by accident. We have a season recording for a series called Afterlife. It seems whoever entered the details in the Radio Times XML put the name as afterlife (lower case 'a' at the beginning). The scheduler obviously isn't case-sensitive as the episode recorded OK but the recording service created a new folder based on the title not having a capital at the beginning.
I would love to see a web browser, I see there is progress on one over at media portal based on the meedio one.
If I could do it I would but it is beyond me, so far I just launch into ie out of gbpvr but the address buttons and fonts are too small to read on the tv.
Since this is the wishlist section there is only hope and dreams.
