  HD5000 (Air2PC2)
Posted by: ToryATL - 2005-10-16, 11:53 PM - Forum: Hardware - Replies (3)

I have a new HD5000 card.

I am wondering if there is a way to get gb-pvr to recognize it. The card is configured and works with the supplied software, but I see no listing for it in the gp-pvr setup.

Any help would be most appreciated.

Thank you,

Tory

  Good Article on UPnP/AV
Posted by: BrainStormer - 2005-10-16, 11:30 PM - Forum: General Discussion - Replies (4)

Here is an article on UPnP/AV that I find quite informative.

The part I find most interesting is on RemoteUI. Looking at it, it looks like XRT2.1 would be rather easy for our DMA manufacturers to add to the firmware of our DMA's thus allowing us to have GUI's on our devices!

So we just need everone who owns one to email their vendor asking for RemoteUIand suggesting XRT 2.1 support.

So then we'd have a replacement for out MediaMVP's that would support more formats natively.

  Focus Problem (blur/sharpness)
Posted by: torridpsu - 2005-10-16, 11:10 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (5)

Athlon 2100+
512 Ram
Hauppauge PVR500
Ati AIW Radeon using tv out with a television (no moniotor)

I am currently having a problem with the new box i put together. Everything works as advertised except for this one minor thing that is driving me insane. I have a problem with live tv (no timeshift) with a weird focus problem. The problem happens when i watch programming that has little or no movement. Something in the setup is having difficulties dealing with this, and it makes parts of the image appear to jump in and out of focus. This is most prevalent with text, as I notice it the most often during sports games that have a score box in the corner. When the play stops and the camera stops moving, the sharpness of that box jumps all over and it is definately noticable.

I also noticed it with programs that have defined lines, like futurama. it goes from being real sharp to blurred to sharp. I don't know if its a problem with the MPEG decoding with the 500 or what. I've also tried to use different decoders, including the nvidia decoder, no difference. I used different programs and noticed the problem on both GBPBR and MediaPortal. I'm somewhat new to this PVR stuff so i'm not an expert by any means. I played around with the deinterlace settings as well as the hauppauge tweak settings, but i noticed no notable difference. Does anyone have any clue?

Thanks!

Remote Wonder 2 activate GBPVR and live TV
Posted by: jam_zhou - 2005-10-16, 11:02 PM - Forum: Old Stuff (Legacy) - No Replies

Hi All,

Here's my first contribution.

I use a Remote Wonder 2 and I wanted to use the TV button to activate the live TV function of GBPVR. Attached are the two things I needed.

First the atimmc.zip from http://remotew.free.fr/plugins.htm#tvbutton
Follow the instructions (it doesn't specify but put both files into the specified location)

Then put tvbutton.txt into whatever directory you want and change it to tvbutton.vbs.

In the CFG file from the zip file tell it to run

c:\windows\system32\wscript.exe "location of tvbutton.vbs"

(you might need to use progra~1 instead of program files)

This saves me a button and also makes it somewhat more intuitive.

It's also possible to change the DVD button to run a script but I think you have to change the registry.

  MVP not connecting...need help
Posted by: gerbele - 2005-10-16, 07:47 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (1)

Setup: Computer-->5 port switch-->5 port switch-->MediaMVP

I have checked the end connection that would connect to the MVP and I get a fast internet signal. When I plug it into the MVP, it displays "connecting to server" then goes blank.

Does anyone have any suggestions? Thank you for any help.

Instant DVD plugin to create DVD's ?
Posted by: microkid - 2005-10-16, 05:11 PM - Forum: Old Stuff (Legacy) - Replies (8)

Sometimes people ask me to transfer a recording to DVD. This is a lot of hassle (copy it to another PC, adjust bitrate, author it, burn it). I was thinking of an "Instant DVD" plugin for GBPVR.

I was thinking of something like:
- select the recording
- adjust bitrate to fit the recording on 1 DVD (if needed)
- insert a blanc DVD
- select "record" and presto, 15 minutes lates the DVD ejects Smile

Any such plugin exists? Or someone wants to develop one?
