Channel changing a Motorola 6200 HD Cable box (Comcast)
Posted by: Pioneer4x4 - 2005-10-02, 07:12 PM - Forum: General Discussion - Replies (1)

I am considering swapping my GBPVR's cable box to the newer one that is HD compatable. I just got into recording from the firewire port, and am working on reencoding to mpeg2/DVD.

Mainly I am interested in ways of channel changing it. I am currently using girder with a serial cable on the older Motorola box, and I would prefer that to IR. Can the USB be used?

BTW, I just found this.
http://www.svcd2dvd.com/HDTV2DVD/default.aspx

It converts the .ts file straight to a DVD file structure! I would prefer to convert to 720x480 mpeg2 video and audio so I can watch via MVP.

  Add "resume" to recording menu
Posted by: Major Hostility - 2005-10-02, 06:04 PM - Forum: Wishlist - Replies (5)

I searched the forums, and couldn't find anything that quite matched this request, so hopefully it isn't redundant.

My ReplayTV box handles the resume/restart option a bit differently, in that it adds a "Play from beginning" option to the recording menu once you have already watched it at least once.

This is a rather subtle distinction, but moving the resume/restart options to the recording menu, rather than at the beginning of video playback, prevents the user from having to always answer the popup and makes the whole process a bit smoother.

Is this something that has already been discussed and declined, or an option we might see in a future release?

Delete shows + Comskip files when Deleting
Posted by: casperse - 2005-10-02, 03:26 PM - Forum: Wishlist - Replies (5)

Hi

When I delete a show (Make dir options enabled) from the menu, then when I look at the disk there still is a Dir with the name of the show (Only one show in the folder) and also a Comskip Bat file?

I would wish that it did a full clean up.

Another thing Live TV leaves really big files, anyway to delete them automatically?

Cheers
Love the new comskip feature BRILLIANT!!!! Big Grin

  Channel Icons?
Posted by: ShiningDragon - 2005-10-02, 03:17 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (2)

Hello sub,

again a stupid question by me. I copied a good bunch of ICONS for my channels into the right directory (correct ending ".png") and after they are displayed fine.

If i restart GB-PVR there are channels with the ending ".gif" (where do they come from???) and will be displayed instead my beautiful ".png" Channels-Icons.

My Question is: Where do the bad Icons come from? And why comes they back, if i delete them? I wanna only use my beautiful Channel-Icons, not the bad ".gif's"... Sad

  Aspect Ratio settings
Posted by: bodytank - 2005-10-02, 02:39 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (32)

In config.xml, I found the followings:

<!-- Aspect Ratio settings -->
<AspectRatio0>0,0,1,1</AspectRatio0>
<AspectRatio1>0,-0.125,1,1.125</AspectRatio1>
<AspectRatio2>0,0.125,1,0.875</AspectRatio2>
<AspectRatio3>0.08,0,0.92,1</AspectRatio3>
<AspectRatio4>-0.05,-0.01,1.04,1</AspectRatio4>
<AspectRatio5>-0.05,-0.089,1.04,1.089</AspectRatio5>
<AspectRatio6>-0.05,-0.17,1.04,1.17</AspectRatio6>
<AspectRatio7>0.08,0,0.92,1</AspectRatio7>

What does these settings mean?

Is it related to the F7 aspect ratio change?

I can get 16:9 aspect ratio, but it is not stretch to full screen. I'm thinking if these settings can help.

  Addind S-Vid source
Posted by: jaileon - 2005-10-02, 02:19 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (4)

Hi Guys,
I currently have my PVR150 using the antena input so I get all the channels from the cable company. But additionally I'd like to add the S-Video input from the same card.
How can I get this input as part of my channel line-up....or any way so I can record programs from that video input?

Thanks for any help.

Videomate DVB T300 or Hauppauge Nova T PCI
Posted by: Huugs - 2005-10-02, 11:36 AM - Forum: Hardware - Replies (4)

I am in the UK and I want a DVB card but I want it to work properly with GB-PVR. Which of these is the best supported?

The Videomate one says it supports Microsoft BDA but I dont even know what that is.
Do they both use the 'BDA Recording' in the capture sources and is that better than the 'WDM Software Recording' thing?

Thanks alot.

  bug/quirk with Import Recordings
Posted by: Pioneer4x4 - 2005-10-02, 11:27 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (2)

Sub, I occasionaly use the Import Recordings (Thanks BTW! Very handy), and I just noticed that after I Import, config.exe makes a config.xml in the folder that had the .xml file I was importing. I typically save the .xml file in the folder with the .mpg I am importing.

It imported correctly, and I didn't change any other settings in config.exe.
