  TV screen 1/5 cut away
Posted by: bodytank - 2005-09-30, 06:02 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (7)

When using Live TV, 1/5 of the screen was cut.

The 4 CCTV screen should be the same (i.e. 4 identical rectangle screen)
But for unknown reason, the lower 1/5 of the screen has been cut away!

What is the reason?
There is no such problem when I freshly installed and configured GBPVR...

  (S)VCD playback
Posted by: reboot - 2005-09-30, 05:49 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - No Replies

I have approximately 150 movies on (S)VCD disks.
I'm looking for an elegant way to play them in gbpvr.
Right now, I've selected the DVD player as a folder in Video Library, which requires me to select the mpeg2 folder, and manually play the aviseq01.mpg
It would be nice if there were a way to play them just like a DVD, using the DVD button.
Does anyone else have a solution?

On another note, gbpvr displays them in the proper aspect, but doesn't fullscreen them. There's about a 100 pixel border on all sides.
Any ideas?

Sapphire Theatrix Stuck on the High Bit Rate
Posted by: cagapiou - 2005-09-30, 05:42 PM - Forum: Hardware - No Replies

I have noticed that when I capture with my Sapphire Theatrix, whatever capture settings I set I always get an mpeg file with the high bit rate settings.

This does not happen with my 2nd tuner the WINTV-PVR150. With this one I can set whatever bit rate settings I want.

I have noticed that the same problem happens when I use the Teatrix with Pinnacle Studio 9.3.

Does anybody know if this is a problem of the ATI drivers or the software?

Thanks
cagapiou

http://gbpvr.com/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Plugin/XDvd

2005-09-29 : v0.3

* installer
* installer will not override settings.xml
* if dvddrive and daemon tools drive can not be found in settings.xml
will use the gbpvr one in config.xml
* show runtime for main movie title
* can hit ctrl-r on the title to decrement by 10
* fixed the bug with .. can now browse other drives.
* added title detection in its own thread.
* add mouse support for the 6 buttons on the left.
* add logic for multiple mvps, till I have time to test it or someone
can help me ( 2 mvps not needed). You must enable it manually in the
settings.xml

to test multimvp
in the settings create a entry in

/settings/MultiMvpMode

<MultiMvpMode>true</MultiMvpMode>

It will create a file called c:\temp-MVPXXXX.mpg

it will also create a file called

c:\temp-MVPXXXX.mvp which contains a process id for the associated vnc.
So we can kill it, without affecting the other mvp users. Not a big
deal since most people dont have the processing power to transcode two
streams at once..

Access to path _____ is denied.

Anyone have problems recording to a drive partition that GB-PVR and/or your OS are not installed on? GBPVR will record to my C:\ drive on which my OS and GBPVR are install, but can't record to G:\, a partition on the same hard drive as C:\. I've tried installing GBPVR to G:\, but that doesn't work either. I had trouble attaching my log file, so I just cut and pasted the relevant part of my recording service log. Why would GBPVR not be able to access a drive that all of the other programs and the user has access to? Thanks in advance!

  Error - please help !!
Posted by: tomc - 2005-09-30, 04:12 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (10)

Hi,
I am running windows 2003 server with a Hauppauge WinTV Nova-t, and have installed the software that comes with the card (winTV 2000) and also the gbpvr software (after trying a few others that failed badly someone recomended this one). After setting it up it all worked fine, until I pressed a button on the remote control. The software hung so I restarted it. Now I cannot watch Live TV, every time I click the "live TV" button it gives me 2 errors (the first one may just be because I have the c++ debugging packages installed - on xp I probably wouldnt see the first message).
1st error)
Program: c:\program files\devnz\gbpvr\GBPVR.exe
Line: 150
Expression: p! = 0
Abort - Retry - Ignore
(this is a windows type error box)
on abort or retry the software ends, on ignore I recieve the second error
2nd error)
Error: Object reference not set to an instance of an object (this is a gbpvr error)

As I say - the software was all working fine (for about 10 mins !) and WinTV200 still works fine. I have tried re-installing both wintv and gbpvr and there is no difference.

Has anyone else had this problem, or can anyone suggest how to fix it ?
if logs are needed can someone tell me which ones to post

Thanks

Tom

Installation and setup of 350 & 500 Card?
Posted by: casperse - 2005-09-30, 03:59 PM - Forum: Hardware - Replies (7)

Hi Experts...Big Grin

I have just bought a new PVR500 Card and now I need to set Install it
The proper way... (Sorry for stupid Questions I am Newbie)

A) I use the TV-out on the 350 card, should this be device 1#?

And when setting up the PVR500 Card like this.
Capture Source:
1# PVR350
2# PVR500 (Tuner1)?
3# PVR500 (Tuner2)?
(Dont care about the FM radio part)

B) When setting up the channels can I just use the same channel that I already use with the 350 Card? I have used FreqCopy to override frequencies for Hauppauge TV Cards. Should this be done again?`

The channels "order" is also the same as the PVR350 so can I reuse the setup.
Or should I configure the new PVR500 Tuners with the Wintv2000 tool?

C) Should I use the MCE drivers? (OS= WINXPro)

D) Since I am using all the same channels for all the tuners I can use the same XML file for the TV guide correct?

Thanks for Helping out!
And have a excellent weekend

Cheers
Casperse
Any other things that I should look out for?
