Posted by: Perkmeister - 2005-10-10, 05:00 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (5)

Has there been any updates in the support of the WinTV-NEXUS-s card from Hauppage?

It would be great if GBPVR could support FTA receivers (Pansat, Fortec, etc)

RitzDVB (or other DVB apps) via GBPVR through MVP
Posted by: NickMacN - 2005-10-10, 04:34 PM - Forum: MVP & NMT - Replies (1)

Is it possible to stream video from another DVB application such as ProgDVB or RitzDVB via GBPVR to the MVP? My PC is in the study where it runs RitzDVB using my Twinhan DVB-S card. Can I use GBPVR to stream the Live TV from this application to my MVP in the greatroom?

Thanks in advance... Great work on this product by the way!!!

  Timeshift problem
Posted by: esperado - 2005-10-10, 03:47 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (2)

My config:
Videocard: Pinnacle 300I (DVB-T)+ Pinnacle PCTV(analog secam), Windows XP-sp2 (last) on two partitions (one just for PVR). Installed Codecs: Pinnacle, Dscaler and ffdshow (desactivated), no errors in com objects and directshow, athlon XP 3200+ 1Gb ram, stable system.
I use Pinnacle Mediacenter, MediaPortal, GBPVR.

The problem:
When viewing direct tv, everything works fine. When i use timeshifting, i got artefacts in images all the 10/20 seconds and drops or noise in sound in the same time. The proc is showing less than 20% usage in the same time, and half of my 1gb memory is free. The folder where i record is on a sata disk and lot of space anough.
Same behavior with MediaPortal, but timeshift work well with Pinnacle mediacenter.

Any idea ?

noob quaestion - looking for a sky+ replacement
Posted by: canonbeck - 2005-10-10, 03:40 PM - Forum: General Discussion - Replies (4)

Hi everyone!

I'm looking to cancel my sky+ sub and switch to freeview (DVB-T). I was going to try and build a mythtv box until I came across this site just recently. It seems GBPVR might be just what I was looking for. I have a couple of questions and was hoping that someone might be able to help.

It seems that GBPVR has roughly the same feature set as sky+ for record and playback - Does anyone know of any big differences between the two systems?

If I build a box with, say, 2 Nova-T cards - do I then also need a card to supply video to my tv?

Can I run of of those MVP boxes in another room while the GBPVR box is being used?

Can I watch live tv through GBPVR? / MVP? / both at the same time?

I already have a Network availible storage system set up via a linksys nslu2 slug. Can I use a disk on this system for recordings or is that asking too much for 100bit ethernet?

Lastly, Can I use any remote to control the system? I would like to use a sky+ remote to keep it easy for my wife to use.

Cheers guys!

More flexable tuner card support layer
Posted by: ggee - 2005-10-10, 03:38 PM - Forum: Wishlist - Replies (1)

Enhance the layer that handles the tuner card support to be more flexable to supporting new cards. I'm not sure how MediaPortal supports so many cards, but I believe it is mostly because of the way they can add support by putting a graph in a file. MediaPortal has the best tuner support I have seen, but gets a failing grade in the PVR features.

  Parental control
Posted by: ggee - 2005-10-10, 03:33 PM - Forum: Wishlist - Replies (8)

Have the ability to put certain recorded content in a protected area. There are shows that get recorded that I don't want my son to watch yet.

Also, to have this ability in MVP.

  Streamable formats
Posted by: DangerMouse - 2005-10-10, 02:12 PM - Forum: MVP & NMT - Replies (7)

Hi,

I'm utterly new to all this PVR stuff so please bear with me Smile

I've been led to believe that under a standard configuration the MediaMVP is only capable of playing certain formats. When integrated with GBPVR does this limitation remain? Or put a different way, what video/audio formats is GBPVR capable of streaming to other PCs or the MediaMVP?

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks

  GBPVRRecordingService.exe Crashes
Posted by: crashtestdummy - 2005-10-10, 01:22 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (4)

I'm a newbie to all of this, so your help will be much appreciated :o

I installed GBPVR09413 on my system for use with my WinTV-PVR-150 (single tuner only), but everytime a pre-scheduled TV-Guide recording starts I receive an error similar to the following ...

[
GBPVRRecordingService.exe - Common Language Runtime Debugging Services

Application has generated an exception that could not be handled.

Process id=0x1a4 (420), Thread id=0x4d0 (1232)

Click OK to terminate the application.
Click CANCEL to debug the application.
]

If I click on CANCEL, I receive the following error ...

[
GBPVRRecordingService.exe - No debugger found.

Registered JIT debugger is not available. An attempt to launch a JIT debugger with the following command resulted in an error code of 0x2 (2). Please check computer settings.

cordbg.exe !a 0x1a4

Click on Retry to have the process wait while attaching a debugger manually.
Click on Cancel to abort the JIT debug request.
]

While these errors are received, GBPVR still records the program, however, it does not stop recording when the stop time is reached. Instead, it will continue recording until every gig is consumed.

Like I said, I'm new to this, so please let me know if there are any specific log files I should provide here for support.

Thanks in advance!

CTD
