"According to PVRBlog, TiVo's new operating system update enables content protection flags on a per-show basis. On some programs, notably syndicated shows, a red flag appears to indicate that the copyright holder has requested that TiVo devices not save a program past a certain date and that the program may not be copied to a PC using TiVo to Go. TiVo users were told to expect this style of flag only on pay-per-view and video on demand programming, and as such are upset that TiVo has restricted the capabilities of the receivers they bought and subscribed to use. The TiVo Community boards have some screen shots and firsthand accounts."
I am in process of setting up with GBPVR on a Media MVP. This is what I have so far - analog cable and cable modem, PC and Laptop via 802.11g to Linksys router, MediaMVP ($40@RS) wired to same router. I am looking to get a WinTV PVR 150 when they go on sale again.
After many, many hours reading this and other forums, I seem to have everything working well, except....when working with GBPVR (or Hauppauge MediaMVP) I get "contacting servers" whenever I do anything that seems network intensive. Sometimes the OSD comes back in a few seconds, sometimes a few minutes, sometimes black screen.
I've searched through the discussions on it and have read alot of info on network optimization. I guess I'm just looking for confirmation that the network is the culprit. I've downloaded HyerWRT but haven't loaded it yet. Should I print out all of the expert advice and try to fine tune the network, or are there other areas that I should look at first?
i can see that the txt files are created. but the commercals are still there. i've got both bat files, and set it to call comskip from within the config.
I get movies once in a while that come w/ the subtitles. I want to use them when the subs aren't embedded (someone speaks spanish during a english lang film), but I can't seem to tell it to only show the non-english ones (even though I have set vobsub/ffdshow to english).
Anyone good w/ these, or know if there's a trick? Right now it just means I need to move them out of a subfolder when I do need them.
i am not a programmer, but i do know windows quite well.
the documentation for web scheduling seems confusing.
i get objects not found when i try to click the links in that documentation. i have clicked the remote scheudling box in the conifg, i left the log in information as admin, the default.
anyone have steps for a novice to schedule remote recordings in gbpvr?
Hi, I've been using Zap2It successfully for close to a year, however, in the last week or 2, I've noticed that I only have about 3 days of TVGuide info in GBPVR. It seems to be updating, because it is staying at a consistent 3 days. I tried looking around to see if there was some setting in the config program that might have been set to 3 days.
Any idea why this might be occurring, or where I should go to change a setting?
I think gbpvr is fantastic. i searched high and low for good software to use with ati's wonder elite card, and gbpvr is the best.
however, the only thing its missing imho is support for scheudling radio of fm radio.
man i'm on the edge of my seat waiting for that.
i got a 40 dollar donation ready for when support for that is added.
anyone else willing to pay for this feature?
i'm dead serious! if you add this feature i WILL donate baby!
The addition of the VideoPlugin1-9 functionality in 93.10 is arguably the coolest thing Sub has done this year.
However, now that I (I'm a plugin) can be shown over a playing video (like an OSD), or from a menu, how would I know that I'm a menu or an OSD when gbPVR shows me?
Still kind of new to the plugin development, I'm wondering if one of you all would know.
