  Super fast forwind
Posted by: microkid - 2005-09-06, 06:57 PM - Forum: Wishlist - Replies (8)

Sometimes I have to skip 1 or 2 hours in a movie. Currently, the only option is to press the next button, or press FF. This takes ages.
I would like to see an option where you can pause the movie, and then use the BW and FF keys to skip trough the timeline very fast, like 5 mins a go. Pictures are shown when you release the button.
Even nicer would be an option where one would enter the desired time to skip to Smile

  Beware Tigerdirect Shipping Chaos
Posted by: bdgbill - 2005-09-06, 06:27 PM - Forum: Hardware - Replies (6)

Tigerdirect had some sort of meltdown while upgrading their warehouse system. They have buried this letter in the "track your order" section of their site.

http://www.tigerdirect.ca/sectors/custletter/index.asp?

They were careful not to place the letter anywhere someone would see it prior to placing an order.

I have been waiting over 3 weeks for a case I ordered and paid for. TigerDirect is no longer answering their customer service phone number - they place you on hold for 30 minutes then disconnect.

This was my first order from Tiger. I had heard good things about them but this is incredibly sleazy behavior from a major retailer.

  Reoccurring recordings not working
Posted by: xromgear - 2005-09-06, 05:09 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (2)

Everytime I setup a Reoccurring recording, GBPVR adds it to the Reoccurring recording panel but it doesn't record. If I setup a single recording the guide turns red where the recording starts and ends and it works fine. But when i set it to tape every week in that time slot the guide colour stays the same and it doesn't tape. Any suggestions??

  Scheduling bugs
Posted by: jorm - 2005-09-06, 04:54 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (5)

2 of them.

1) 2 Tuner bug. I have two tuners. Setup two shows to record on one channel. One at 8-8:30 the other from 8:30-9. I then try to schedule a show from 8-10. I get the conflict box telling me I have to cancel one.

2) Scheduled 1 show using quick. Open it up and cancel it. The show is now deleted. I then decide I want to schedule it for a season recording. I open it up again and try to schedule a season recording. The season is created but the show is still deleted. Perhaps when you create a new season recording it should delete the matches that are deleted for that show?

  MyVideo slow
Posted by: tal56 - 2005-09-06, 04:11 PM - Forum: Old Stuff (Legacy) - Replies (2)

I've just installed the MyVideo plugin as the "My" series by Reven seems to have a lot more features, however I have a few folders with 500+ kareoke video's and when I view these folders or play a video from inside one, the playback takes a long time to start, like 10-20 seconds.

Is this because of the database lookup instead of using actual filenames? Can I get it to use the filename instead, kinda like how MyMusic does? Because that seems faster.

I've already turned off all the features that I think are slowing it down, but it's still slow. Any thoughts on how I can speed this up?

My system speed is not fantastic but this should not be a problem as it plays immediately in the video library.

My system,

AMD 2500
512 RAM
Nvdia 5500 video
400+ Hard drive space.

  My Music, french translation and MCE2
Posted by: n@boleo - 2005-09-06, 03:33 PM - Forum: Old Stuff (Legacy) - Replies (9)

I've just update my gbpvr, my music, my videos etc to last version. But now I have troubles with it :

Code:
06/09/2005 17:24:21.278 ERROR [2] Error: msg=0x100 (WM_KEYDOWN) hwnd=0x17009a wparam=0xd lparam=0x1 result=0x0 : System.NullReferenceException: La référence d'objet n'est pas définie à une instance d'un objet. at MyMusicPlugin.MyMusicTask.render(Boolean& requiresMoreRendering) in c:\xmltv\my music\mymusic.cs:line 458 at cp.a(Boolean& A_0) ....

What is strange is that c:\xmltv\ does not exists on my computer !!! At the last mean it could be c:\gbpvr\xmltv but my music subdir does not exist either... Any idea how it can be solved (as i can even find the *.cs file? Did i makde something wrong with my updates ?

  ExternalRecorder plugin - configuration question
Posted by: fgomes - 2005-09-06, 09:24 AM - Forum: Old Stuff (Legacy) - Replies (1)

I have installed the ExternalRecorder plugin to record using ProgDVB. I still have some doubts:

What is the purpose of the PreviewParameters? When are they used? I suppose that when I shedule a recording it uses the RecordingParameters... In these I put the channel number and filename and it seems to be working (at least progdvb is called and a recording is made, but no gui from progdvb is shown and the recording only apears in the final location when it ends, I don't know where it is saving it during the recording session).
The preview parameters is for LiveTV? Shouldn't it also make a recording in order to be available to the mediaMVP box, or it is not compatible with mediaMVP for LiveTV? Is it only supposed to open locally (on the PC) the external application, or there is a way to see this program in the mediaMVP, using a temporary recording file, as for the 'normal' LiveTV on the mediaMVP?

Thanks!

Fernando

  SecurityCam Plugin Question
Posted by: RCoburn - 2005-09-06, 03:58 AM - Forum: Developers - Replies (2)

Are there any details on the webcam.xml setup? I am trying to get 2 webcams working, a Logitech Clicksmart 310 and a Logitech QuickCam Pro 2000. I had the 2000 setup when I installed the plugin and I added the second cam later. I thought it would be cool to have one pointing inside the house and one pointing outside the front door. I have added the second line so my file looks like:

<webcam>
<camera name="Inside" connection="0"/>
<camera name="Outside" connection="1"/>
</webcam>

I have tried numerous setups and can't get anything from the second camera. Any help would be appreciated, and thanks for all the cool plugins.
