  Simplified Navigation Keys
Posted by: ThomasM - 2005-09-05, 09:59 PM - Forum: Wishlist - Replies (3)

I would like to suggest a simplified navigation scheme:
Up/Down scrolls through menu's lists's etc.
Right takes you into an option, Left takes you out.

An example is being discussed in the Music Album dev stream. Up/Down scrolls OK "does action", In Albums list it enques current album. Right arrow takes you from album view to album contents, where you can choose a track (up/down) and OK enqueues it. Right arrow takes you into the actual playlist and left backs out the same order of screens right up to the top level menu.

Another example is up/down chooses menu entry and right arrow opens a sub menu. Again scroll up and down and when ready hit OK. The idea being much simpler navigation arrows navigate and OK does. I find the current keys confusing (Do I press left arrow or Enter or some other key...)

OK here's my real request can the right arrow select the highligted entry in the top level menu? (Leaving all other keys as is. Just the top level having a right arrow added to do the same as the "Enter" key).

thanks
Thomas

  Weird bluish picture
Posted by: lord_gino - 2005-09-05, 07:51 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - No Replies

Hi guys,
I've got a Hauppauge 150 and I've got this very weird problem. Please look at the attached pictures. I get the bluish one after a reboot. Meaning all my recordings get this blue flavour. To get the normal pic I just have to start WINTV2K - the native Hauppauge software. In wintv2k the picture is normal, and from now till the next reboot, gbpvr shows normal picture too.
Please help.
Thanx.

theater pro 550 - system locks
Posted by: spillerm - 2005-09-05, 06:41 PM - Forum: Hardware - Replies (3)

just purchased an ati 550 theater pro tv tuner card (PowerColor/Tul) but have, as yet, been unable to install. I have a dell 8300, P4/3.00 GHz, 512 Mb, windows XP SP2, and two available PCI slots. here is the product page from newegg - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.as...etailSpecs My current video card is an ATI Radeon 9800 pro in the AGP slot. I have an SB Audigy 2 in slot 2 and modem in slot 3. I initially installed the card in slot 4, booted up, and began installing the software driver from the provided CD. Near the end of installation the system locked, I could not force quit, and had to perform a hard reboot.

I have since removed and uninstalledmy other PCI hardware (SB audigy and modem), and tried the 550 pro in each of the pci slots without success. The system will boot, but as soon as I enable the card in the device manager the system immediately locks. I have also tried installing the newest driver from ATI, but it did not help.

any advice would be appreciated.

  No DVD button in GBPVR
Posted by: lostsoul - 2005-09-05, 06:16 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (25)

Hi Folks,

I am having a strange problem, and wondered if anyone else had experienced something similar, or could point me in the right direction.

Basically I have no DVD Button on the front screen of GBPVR, so I am unable to play DVD's through it.

Have done a search through the forums, and have not come up with anything helpful so far, which is relevant to the version of GBPVR I am using.

Using: GBPVR v0.93.10
OS: Windows MCE 2005
PVR: Hauppauge PVR 350

Config settings under DVD Playback section:
Navigator: Cyberlink DVD Navigator (PDVD6)
Video Decoder: Cyberlink Video/SP Decoder
Audio Decoder: Cyberlink Audio Decoder
Audio Renderer: Cyberlink Audio Renderer (PDVD6)
Show DVD Button: ticked
DVD-Rom Drive: set to correct Drive letter

I have Cyberlink PowerDVD installed as can be seen from the above, I also have Intervideo WinDVD 7 installed, and have tried selecting the Navigator/Decoders for that, and I have also tried leaving all these values as system default. I have unticked, saved, and then re-ticked Show DVD button.

I can see the task for the DVD Button is processed upon starting GBPVR from the GBPVR.exe.log file:

05/09/2005 19:01:40.343 VERBOSE [2] - Adding task: TV Guide

05/09/2005 19:01:40.343 VERBOSE [2] - Adding task: Exit

However prior to this, I can see that when loading showbuttons task into the cache, the button isn't listed:

05/09/2005 19:01:39.906 VERBOSE [2] getValue: /settings/ShowButtons : TV Guide,Search Guide,Live TV,Net Radio,FM Radio (has settings),Recordings,Music Library,Video Library,Exit

05/09/2005 19:01:40.031 VERBOSE [2] loading /settings/SpecialElements/SpecialElement[@name="DetailsView"]
05/09/2005 19:01:40.078 VERBOSE [2] FMRadioMenuTask created

From the same log file, the only error I get is this one:

05/09/2005 19:01:40.343 ERROR [2] Unable to find node: /settings/SpecialElements/SpecialElement[@name="MenuType"]

I don't know whether that is relevant or not.

So, if anyone can point me in the right direction, would be much appreciated.

Thanks,

Lostsoul

  Dummy recorder plugin
Posted by: ChristianW - 2005-09-05, 05:50 PM - Forum: Developers - Replies (7)

I don't have my htpc setup yet but I still want to develop a plugin for gbpvr. This plugin however depends on gbpvr behaving like normal. Recording shows, showing a channel, timeshifting etc.

Is it possible?

The plugin I want to develop is for use with lcd(studio|hype|info) (substitute the one you want Wink )

  BlueMCE2 and My Pictures
Posted by: rangermcfadden - 2005-09-05, 05:38 PM - Forum: Old Stuff (Legacy) - Replies (6)

I can't seem to get the My Pictures plugin to work with the BlueMCE2 skin.

When I open GBPVR with the BlueMCE2 skin and My Pictures plugin enabled, I don't see My Pictures listed on the main menu.

When I open GBPVR with the regular Blue skin I see it listed and it works fine.

I'm using GBPVR v0.93.10 and the latest versions of BlueMCE2, My Pictures, and My Database, downloaded from here and here.

Thanks for your help.

Problems with tuning only one channel (no audio)
Posted by: psiros - 2005-09-05, 04:14 PM - Forum: Hardware - Replies (7)

I'm having difficulty tuning only one channel. For some reason, the audio on channel 10 (CBS affiliate) is missing. I've checked the audio on my TV and it's fine; therefore, something is amiss with my tuner card (PVR-150). Has anyone run across this before and found a fix?

What stores carry PVR cards in stock?
Posted by: Pioneer4x4 - 2005-09-05, 03:53 PM - Forum: General Discussion - Replies (2)

I was thinking of buying another card today but the only thing I can find in stock is CompUSA has the PVR150 1045 with remote and blaster. I already have one of those, and don't need yet another remote. I was hoping to find the 150 MCE, or 500, or lowprofile 150MCE.

The 150 at CompUSA is $65 after rebates if anyone else is interested. Circuit City shows it at $199!

  Widescreen video as Letterbox.
Posted by: Huugs - 2005-09-05, 03:45 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (2)

I have only just started using GBPVR but if I watch a widescreen video from the video option in the main menu it stretches it to 4:3 so its slightly distorted. Is there a way to make it play as 4:3 letterbox?
