I have GP-PVR running and have a NVIDIA GeForce MX 4000 video card. I use the S-video cable to attach to my TV. When i 1st installed GP-PVR and hooked it to the TV it worked perfect right out of the box. I am running at a resolution of 640X480. When I was watching a recording it locked up and when I Ctrl-Alt-Del to close the program the picture was stuck partially off the screen in all directions. It is probably missing 3 to 4 inches of viewing(maybe more) on each side. I Cant seem to find any way to get the view back to fit in the tv view.

I can however if i have the PC monitor hooked up it will view perfectly. Any ideas? I can give you some specs if you need any. I tried resetting the resolution and checked all kids of options in NVIDIA properties. I am at a loss how to fix this shy of formating the computer.

Why are the channels limited to channel 99? My account at zip2it shows hundreds of channels, but the GBPVR software only shows details for channels up to 99 - the rest are blank.

I know this has been mentioned before, but I didn't see it in the wishlist. If channel number was passed to PostProcessing.bat, we'd be able to:

• skip comskip processing on files we know have no commercials
  
• have comskip process files differently based on the channel number

Bit of a newbie, but hopefully I won't appear so for long

System Details - In case it matters
Shuttle SN95G5V2 - Win XP SP2
1Gb RAM
2 x 160Gb 7200rpm HD's
GeForce 5200 FX
Hauppage MediaMVP (got it on Saturday)
Hauppage Nova-T-USB2 (got it today so not even out of the box)

I've installed GBPVR and configured it to do most of the basics running the interface locally (I'll call this machine Host) as well as via the MediaMVP so I'm quite happy with all that.

In addition, I have a medium spec PC upstairs (I'll call this Client) connected via a 54MBit Wireless LAN (running @ 48Mbits) which I wanted to stream to (video/music/films/TV pretty much everything if possible). The machine has no TV capture card and the hard drive only has 1Gb spare so not much room for storing media.

I installed GBPVR on Client and configured a shortcut on the desktop to c:\program files\devnz\gbpvr\gbpvr.exe with the 'Start In' pointing to the Host ("\\host\c$\program files\devnz\gbpvr" for example).

I then reconfigured the Host video and music library directories to point to shares I created called \\host\films & \\host\music respectivly so that the Client would recognise the directories on the network.

Surprisingly (to me anyways) this works! :eek:

I was wondering if anyone else had come across this kind of configuration and if there was a 'preffered' method for running in a PC Client -> PC Host configuration?

Any other comments would be appreciated.

I run XP Home Edition and I have F-Secure installed. All of the installations are standard.

When starting any of the TV services, I get error messages that are triggered by the GBPVRRecordingService not being started. In the Service settings in the Control Panel, this service is marked as "automatic", but when restarting the machine the service is stopped. If starting the service manually or if I manually update the EPG, the TV and recording functions will start and work fine, but this is quite cumbersome of course.

I assume that either F-Secure or a security setting in Windows prevents the service from autostarting or running continuously?

Does anyone have any tips on how to make sure that this service starts automatically?

I have no idea how to create that - could one of you guys either advise or point me to where I can learn how to do it?

Let just start by saying that GB-PVR is an excellent program and I want to say to the author: keep up the good work!

I get the unable to "update EPG" in the Config program. I already checked my firewall and disabled it. I also disabled my Anti-virus just to be safe. I still get the error. I also check my Zap2it account and it is not expired. It is active. Here is my log below:

Since upgrading to the most recent release I've been having every second recording fail. I have this error message pop-up on screen: Recording Service Error Message

I don't see any errors in the logs that would indicate anything of interest, but I have finally figured out what seems to be happening. Every second recording the recording fails to stop at the ending time but instead just keeps on going until the disk drive fills up. Once it fills up, the above error is displayed and the service fails. If I restart the service, it works fine for the 1st recording, but fails on the next.

Any ideas?

Am having an object reference not set when traversing beyond my tv guide. Has anybody encountered this. The only recourse was to close the app and restart.

I've had this issue since I've been using my PVR. When watching shows that have fast moving objects, I see what I can only describe as "ghosting"... like trying to play a video game on an LCD monitor with a slow response time (20ms+)

It's very tough to watch shows where the filming was done "hand held" and not steady or the camera pans around alot.

I'm trying to grasp what could be causing this.

I'm using the s-video out on the embedded Geforce MX graphics chip on my Nforce motherboard. Would upgrading the video card help this (btw, I tried an AGP Geforce 4 ti 4200 with s-video out, no difference)? The TV is the only viewing source near the computer, so I don't think I could use an Xcard because I don't have another monitor nearby to display the desktop if I ever needed to get to it.

I've also tried many different codecs with no change in video speed. The video quality isn't bad, it's just it isn't as fast as watching tv direct from my satellite. For instance, watching NASCAR or something fast paced like that results in a blurry image. I'm not using any post processing things like ffdshow (i couldn't figure out how to use it and frankly don't want to spend hours trying to figure it out).

Maybe this type of thing is inherent in PC PVR solutions?

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.
