I've spent some time today following the Plugin Tutorial from the wiki and I found that the helloworld.dll file prevents the GB-PVR config app from launching. The app returns a setup error stating "Failed to load resources from resource file. Please check your setup." The .dll file compiles just fine in Visual Studio 2005 and GB-PVR runs fine when I removed the .dll file. Am I missing something? I've attached my source and compiled .dll if anyone wants to look at it.
Not sure what is going on... I finally traced the problem to having the "Display on Video Archive Panel" box checked within the weather plugin. Once I uncheck it GBPVR loads in the usual 3-5 second time frame. With it checked it seems as though it just hangs. Even after a few minutes there is no sign of action although the gbpvr.exe.log does move forward slower than a snails pace.
I turned off my zonealarm firewall to see if that was the problem and it didnt' help at all.
Any ideas as to what could be going on? Works perfectly fine on another computer of mine. I really want to get it working on my main HTPC
I just finished uninstalling GBPVR and reloading everything and it still happens. Although I did copy the gbpvr.mdb file over as I was to lazy to set everything up from scratch. Could there be a problem in the gbpvr.mdb file?
I have a PC with a Intel i915GM on Board Graphic Card installed. In this PC there is actually no TV Card installed. Now I have Problems viewing DIVX-Files. I see stripes of Colours and the Video gives me wrong Colours and shades of colours.
When I play the same file on the same PC with the DIVX-Player, everything is o.k.. Playing DVD on this machine works fine too.
There are no Problems, playing DIVX-Files with GB-PVR on a PC with Intel Board and a ATI Graphics Card. I assume that there is a Problem with the Graphic Driver and how GB-PVR handles DIVX Files.
Can anybody help me to solve that Problem?
I Just purchased one of these MVP's at Radioshack (on sale) and I love it...!! However, I have a question for someone who is more knowledgable than myself.
I'm (obviously) using GbPVR as my MVP server software... Well, when I click on "live TV" (using the MVP on my television), I'm able to view live TV without any difficulties. However, when I look in my recordings directory, I'm floored to see that GbPVR has recorded every single second of my live TV viewing -- regardless of the fact I didn't tell it to record it...
How do I turn this option off??? I really only want it to record those shows which I intend for it to record, not the "live" TV option.
Just bought a NOVA-t card from Hauppauge. I hated the included software (didn't work at all to start with) so I decided to install GBPVR. That was this morning. I've now got it working and it's brilliant. I thought I would share how this was done -
Most of this information has been taken off of other posts here but I thought it would be a good idea to have it all in one place.
The CD that was shipped with my Nova card is marked as version 1.3. I believe this software is out of date. Just follow the install instructions on the above URL. If you have installed the software from the included CD remember to uninstall using the HWClear.exe file found on it.
Reboot computer.
Download the mpgmux.ax file. This can be found on Google, I am not sure of the licencing restrictions on this so I do not wish to provide a direct link. Drop this into c:\windows\system32\ folder
From the Start button, select run and type the following
regsvr32 c:\windows\system32\mpgmux.ax
Install GBPVR.
Open the file c:\Program Files\devnz\gbpvr\config.xml in notepad. Change the text that reads
<BDAScanType>1</BDAScanType> to
<BDAScanType>2</BDAScanType>
Launch the config program for GBPVR. Select the Capture Sources Tab.
Click the Add button
Select the recording source as BDA recording plugin.
I use the Bleb source for TV channel listings. Download the Bleb listings
Click on Map digital channels to EPG channels button.
Make sure that channel changer is set to No channel changer required.
After channels are maped click the OK button.
The only issue I had was that I cannot get Channel 5, but I can receive this under WinTV and my set top plugged into the same aerial. But it is channel 5 so this is probably a good thing.
After this GBPVR should work.
Caveat - I have to admit I don't really know what I'm talking about, this is just what worked for me.

I wonder if there's any plans on making the Girder channel changer compatible with Girder 4?? I know G4 is still in beta, but it's so stable now I've moved over everything else to it, and would love to move over the GBPVR stuff as well.
So i am playing around with what would be needed for a voice over ip plugin with camera support that I can use on the MVP the idea is you would use an ip cam as the interface. The problem I see is the fact that the MVP does not support wav files. So i am trying to figure a way to transcode the mp3 to wav.
Does anyone know if the MVP is buffering the mp3? Or is gbpvr streaming out the data real time?
I bought a Hauppauge MCE Remote Control Kit (Model 01069). At least, that's what it says on the box. The remote itself doesn't mention Hauppauge - see picture attached.
i am trying to use this with GBPVR but not having much luck. I have downloaded the latest hauppauge ir driver but when run it says "failed to initialize Infrared Remote Hardware". I have the square box plugged in to a USB port, and the wire with the 3.5mm jack plugged in to that.
So, my questions :
Is this really a Hauppage remote?
If so, which driver do I need to make it work?
Is there a simple test program that displays the codes being received from the remote
Is that little bit of black plastic on the end of the wire an extender, or an IRblaster?
I have these three devices in my HTPC and will install your s/w today, but as the 3 devices i have:
Hauppauge PVR350,
DVICO Fusion HDTV dvb-T1
and Asus 9600xt/tvd VGA card
all have analogue inputs to capture an analogue source.
will GBPVR be able to access any combination of the 3 input devices simultaneaously? (Keeping in mind that the dvb-T1 and Asus9600XT/TVD would need software Mpeg encoders. Which software encoder do you recommend?)
