  channel mapping problem
Posted by: hardrinseron - 2005-09-01, 03:09 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - No Replies

Hi all,
I'm still having a problem mapping channels with my nova-t usb2. i get the message that the gbpvr could not start the bda device. i've tried changing the bdascantype to 2 but its still not working. ive tried reinstalling too but that didnt work. my hauppage software works and records no problem though.
Has anyone else managed to get gbpvr working with this hardware? im in the uk so if anyone in the uk has it working id be interested to know how.
maybe somebody could send me copies of their config.xml to try???
Any other suggestions would be much appreciated!

thanks
Daz

  Maxtor's Networked External HD
Posted by: capone - 2005-09-01, 12:31 PM - Forum: Hardware - Replies (2)

cNet wrote it like no one was doing exactly this. It's an external HD designed to be household storage of media, and plugged directly into the network as a stand-along device.

What is probably most signifciant is the price. They are doing roughly $1/1Gb. Even though I can put another HD on the network, I'll probably start heading in this direction so I don't need to have all PCs on to get to content anymore:

Direct access to Hauppauge remote - some buttons not handled correctly
Posted by: Dai - 2005-09-01, 12:16 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (8)

It appears that some buttons are not handled correctly when using direct access to Hauppauge remote.

If I use direct access, the Red button and Go button do not appear to work, if I use IR Remote instead, they do work.

For example, pressing Red to reverse the order of the list in the Recording screen. Or pressing Go to bring up the menu in MyVideos.

Is there somewhere the mapping can be configured?

It's not the end of the world but, I've stopped using direct access for the moment but someimes, when the machine comes out of standby, the GBPVR window does not have focus so the remote does not work which is a bit annoying.

Here's hoping for a fix :o)

Thanks

Dai

PS, I'm using the old 34 button remote if that's relevant.

  [Shutdown Plugin] Add Hibernate option
Posted by: venger - 2005-09-01, 10:23 AM - Forum: Old Stuff (Legacy) - Replies (3)

Hi there,

I've been checking out the Shutdown Plugin..
It looks good and is very functional (love the fact that it checks whether or not a recording is occurring) BUT it does not currently support Hibernate Sad

Instead of adding a new Hibernate button - would some kind person be able to a new configuration setting for the plugin so that a user can configure the Shutdown button to do one of : Shutdown, Hibernate or Standby.

I actually tried doing the mod myself .. but strangely, building the project ended up corrupting my GBPVR install ?! .. with no C# experience .. not quite sure what went wrong..

Wanted: Comskip alpha tester in USA/Canada
Posted by: erik - 2005-09-01, 10:00 AM - Forum: Developers - Replies (1)

To enable a better quality of Comskip for USA/Canadian environments I am looking for someone who wants to do some regular testing with new versions of comskip before they are "officially" published.
The task will be to maintain a set of recordings that are judged to be difficult including a reference .txt file of where the cuts are expected to happen.
When new comskip versions are in alpha stage it should be run on the recordings and the log file and the (automatically generated) .txt file differences should be mailed to me.
Anyone interested please PM me.

Hi,

i'm trying to get my Twinhan DVB-T Card running and GB-PVR always says
that the MPEG2 Demultiplexer isn't installed.

The Original Software works perfectly (TwinhanDTV + PowerDVD) with
Record - Timeshift - Playback ...

My System :

P3 1 GHz
384 MByte SDRAM
ATI RadeOn 9550 VIVO VGA
Win XP SP2 (fully patched)
DirectX 9.0c

Moonlight MPEG2 DeMuxer

Someone an idea ?

  double tuner recordings
Posted by: herrmannj - 2005-09-01, 08:38 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (2)

Hi,

im using the latest version gbpvr version with an double tuner setup: twinhan dvb-s and pinnacle 300i dvbt. because some channels on the dvbt card often have glitches i unchecked this channels in the config utility for the pinnacle card (leaving other channels checked).

but gbpvr still records shows from this unchecked channels from the pinnacle source altough this channels are also aviable via the twinhan card (where this channels stll are checked). those shows are season recordings, therefore i waited some days, but no change. do i have to wait until the epg update schedules this records new?

btw, it would be fine in an future version to mark one card as "prefered": in my setup the dvbs card give me very bether picture quality as the dvbt card.

thnx
joerg
