Adding Second PVR150, Scheduling question
Posted by: Pioneer4x4 - 2005-09-01, 08:59 PM - Forum: General Discussion - Replies (8)

I want to add another 150, or possibly a 500.
I currently have 1 PVR150 setup as 3 capture sources, 1 for manually recording from On Demand, 1 for internal tuner channels, and 1 for all of the digital channels tuned by the cable box via A/V jacks.

The problem I can see happening is if I add an additional 150, I won't be duplicating the cable box setup on it. How can I prevent a show recording on the tuner of the original, then a show on digital cable coming up, but that card is occupied?

I thought about splitting the A/V jacks from the cable box to both cards, and duplicating the capture sources. So as long as 2 digital cable shows don't overlap, I'll be OK.

I just thought of this since BBC America is running Jonathan Creek at 4pm, and Spike just moved STNG to 2pm-5pm.

  Problems Emptying EPG and Reloading RPG
Posted by: scooby_doo - 2005-09-01, 08:49 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (4)

Sub or anyone else, I need some assistance. Every so often certain channels will change their lineup between when the EPG data is first retieved and the day the show actually airs (VH1 tends to do this too me.) Under previous versions I used to be able to go in and do an 'Empty EPG' and then an update EPG. After installing the most recent version my EPG no longer loads the days that it had fecthed previously, ie tomorrow and the next day and so on when doing an update EPG. In the log below the data it selects should include today, should it not? I had just done an empty EPG before this and should have NO EPG data. After running it I have guide info for 9/6 - 9/11.

  Program description troncated in TV Guide
Posted by: Frederic113 - 2005-09-01, 08:46 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (10)

French xmltv file is quite dense and often the decription field is long.

Here is a sample
</programme>
<programme start="20050831224000 +0200" stop="20050901004000 +0200" channel="C111.lesagencestv.com">
<title lang="fr">L'état des choses</title>
<category>Chronique</category>
<length>120 minutes</length>
<desc lang="fr">
Chronique. 1982. Allemagne. (Der Stand der Dinge)
(**), VO
Durée : 120 minutes.

Réalisateur : Wim Wenders
Avec : Patrick Bauchau (Friedrich), Paul Getty III (Dennis), Viva Auder (Kate), Samuel Fuller (Joe Corly), Roger Corman (l'avocat), Isabelle Weingarten (Anna), Rebecca Pauly (Joan), Jeffrey Kime (Mark)

AB (31/08/2005)
</desc>
</programme>
Unfortunately, in TV Guide with the Blue skin, the popup window always truncates the description. For instance, in the exemple above I only get:

Quote:Chronique. 1982. Allemagne. (Der Stand der Dinge)
(**), VO
Durée : 120 minutes.

Réalisateur : Wim Wenders
Avec : Patrick Bauchau (Friedrich), Paul Getty III (Dennis), Viva Auder (Kate), Samuel Fuller (Joe Corly), Roger Corman (l'avocat), Isabelle Weingarten (Anna), Rebecca Pauly (Joan), Jeffrey Kime (Mark)
Scénario de : Wim Wenders, Josh Wallace,

Which is meaningless because the summary of the movie (entitled by "Résumé") is not displayed.

Is there a way to fix this?
Thanks
Fred

Just a friendly reminder that this terriffic program is free.
Sub relies on donations for hardware testing, and consistently produces better and better releases, with most of the fancy bells and whistles we all wish for.
Please click the DONATE button in the top right corner of every page (well, you only need to click on it once, from any page Wink ) and send a couple of bucks, yen, shekels, or whatever currency your country uses.

For those in the dark ages, not using paypal or a credit card, I'm sure an international money order, sent by snail mail would be equally appreciated. Big Grin

  NTFS Streams and BDA graphs
Posted by: Chris Reynolds - 2005-09-01, 07:16 PM - Forum: Wishlist - No Replies

Sub,
I liked the use of the NTFS streams to store the XML snippet about the recording and it set me thinking. My earlier 'working very well' set up died a death yesterday after I deinstalled ShowShifter and Intrevideo trials that I'd had one to experiment with their MUXes before finally fixing on dvr-ms. After I deinstalled the picture and recordings were choppy (a few seconds of good video then a pause then back again). Eventually by de-selecting and then re-selecting Cyberlink V6 as the default all worked well so I'm happy again.
But I wondered whether you could store the names/details of the various BDA filters in the XML stream alongside the recording (I suppose there's no reason that the whole graph couldn't be stored). I know that you save a couple of .GRFs but this would preserve it with the recording.
Cheers
Chris

  Cannot schedule two tuners at the same time using Xrecord
Posted by: jonmck - 2005-09-01, 06:37 PM - Forum: Old Stuff (Legacy) - Replies (16)

I have a COmpro T200 and Hauppauge PVR 250 - the T200 is set up for all digitial channels and the PVR is set for analogue versions of the digital channels plus four Irish channels

When I use TV guide, I can schedule, say the T200 to start a recording at 1800, and the PVR 250 to start at 1815 on a different channel no proble,.

But with Xrecord, it always comes up as a conflict, and asks me to cancel my other recording.

Is there a way round this? Thanks

  Live/Recording logic fix/tweak
Posted by: capone - 2005-09-01, 05:09 PM - Forum: Wishlist - No Replies

I love the msg you get when you're recording and try to watch tv, and how it lets you watch the program being recorded....love it.

One suggestion: could it be applied to the show being recorded? The only way you can't just jump to the recording show is to click on the show being recorded.

I didn't try just pressing play, though...I just noticed it didn't have a "watch" button.

The second problem is once a while the connect from my computer to the mediampv would disconnect and i'll have to restart the server on the computer to get it connect again. Is there a pluggin that i could restart the mpv serve with mediampv remote? Thanks

per request on the plugin support forum, i enhanced the shutdown plugin.

it is now possible to chose what the shutdown button does in the config-window: 'normal' shutdown, standby or hibernation.
