  Errors when setting up GB-PVR
Posted by: plg_cp - 2005-09-01, 12:34 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (6)

Hi,
I just brought home my new Hauppauge PVR150 and downloaded GB-PVR, but I keep getting various errors throughout the configuration process... I tried both versions 0.93.10 and 0.92.11 with the same results.

The first one occurs when the config utility launches:
Exception: No error information available: REGDB_E_CLASSNOTREG(0x80040154)

I click Continue and it lets me through, but I get another error when I "CLICK HERE" to register for Zap2it (Exception: The system cannot find the path specified)... and again when trying to exit the config utility (System.ArgumentOutOfRangeException: Specified argument was out of the range of valid values. Parameter name: index). I'm forced to click Cancel and lose all of my settings.

I used the default path for the installation and there don't appear to be any problems with my hardware installation.

If anyone has any ideas I'd really like to use this program, I'm not sure why I'm having these issues!

Thanks,
Mark

  Fix truncated clock display.
Posted by: reboot - 2005-08-31, 06:20 PM - Forum: Community Announcements - Replies (4)

Ever noticed that the clock doesn't display properly during months with long names? Thursday in September is the worst. The year is missing, or only shows the 2, instead of 2005.
Here's how to fix it:
Open skin.xml in C:\Program Files\devnz\gbpvr\skin\Blue\main menu using notepad.
At the bottom, change this line thus:
<SpecialElement name="Panel" panelName="Clock" visible="true" transparency="0.7" loc="450,1" size="250,70"/>
This moves the clock over to the left 30 pixels, and makes it 30 pixels longer.
Now open clock.xml in C:\Program Files\devnz\gbpvr\skin\Blue\panels
You need 3 changes here:
<CompositeImage name="Clock" size="250,70">
This adds the same 30 pixels to the width.
<DrawText text="@ClockText1" loc="15,15" size="230,20" textStyle="Clock" align="Right"/>
This adds the same 30 pix to the time display (probably not needed, but keeps things lined up nicely).
DrawText text="@ClockText2" loc="0,35" size="245,20" textStyle="Clock" align="Right"/>
This adds the same 30 pix to the date display.
Numbers in bold are the changes made.

Now, on months and days that have long names, it will (should) display properly.

EPG - Selection Order (Record, View, Etc) changing
Posted by: Necro - 2005-08-31, 06:16 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - No Replies

Is it possible to change the order of the commands within the EPG? Basically, I want the default selection to be watch and not record. This is just for ease of use since I'm using the software recorder plugin on my Pinnacle PCTV Pro and I don't plan on doing much recording/etc. It's more of a media center PC, not a PVR.

I tried peeking into the skin files but I didnt seem to see anything that looked like what I wanted but I may have just missed it.

Thanks in advance.

  Hang on video playback
Posted by: HK Phoey - 2005-08-31, 04:29 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (6)

I'm useing a Hauppage PVR 150MCE and the latest version of GBPVR. My video card is an ATI Radeon 9550, though currently using the Omega drivers recommended in this forum. I have both Nvidea video decoder (default) and Cyberlink Video/SP decoder installed, both demo versions

I can display live tv, pause it, play it again. I can record live TV and an MPEG file is produced. If i double click the mpeg file from Windows explorer it plays fine in Cyberlink PowerDVD.

However, if I try to playback from GBPVR I hear about 1/2 second of audio from the file then nothing, whilst the screen goes to black and hangs. If I kill the GBPVR application in task manager I see that the file GBPVRexe.log has gone to about 10Mbytes, with the last thing being :

Those event code 7s and 0s carry on for ages, until I killed the ap.

I'd be very grateful for any pointers on where to look next for this. I've tried the various VMR9 / 7 / overlay settings, and swapped the quartz.dll file a few times - currently on 6.05.2600.2508 09/01/2004 1,287,680b which I guess is not the older one - seems to have reset itself.

Any ideas?

Cheers

Missing Channel, is it possibly to Copy a Channel?
Posted by: tal56 - 2005-08-31, 04:12 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (2)

Hi,

I've got a channel that's missing on my EPG, it's not GBPVR's fault, the channel is missing on Zap2it, so until they find the time to add it, I can't record from that channel.

I was wondering if it is possible to copy another channel's content and have it listed as this channel? The reason i as is because the missing channel is 717, however channel 716 is the exact same programming, only in another language.

Can I somehow add the channel 717 to the EPG and use 716's programming? Or even just use 716's programming but record channel 717?

Basically the schedulling for 716 is identical to 717, but I need the IR Blaster to change to record 717 instead of 716.

Thanks for any suggestions you may have.

Can't get Hauppauge Remote to work
Posted by: RonnaP - 2005-08-31, 04:02 PM - Forum: Hardware - Replies (4)

Ok, Ive set the remote up in WinTv (by the way its Hauppauge WinTv 150 card)
Ive done the remote fix in GBPVR - restarted the IR - set up the channels and im getting the channels but it won't change with the remote and it won't change when I set a recording.
Im dumbfounded.
I had this all set up once but I guess I forgot what I did the first time, I had to do a complete restore on my pc and now Im lost.
Im running the 150 card plus a cable box thru composite video.
When I run live tv and try to change the channels it changes down at the bottom where the channel listing are but the actual channel never changes.

Any help?? or suggestions??

Thank you very much

  Source setup problems
Posted by: Paul D. Bellamy - 2005-08-31, 03:23 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (5)

I have made a few attempts to capture a source (Comcast cable) from Zap2it. The problem is that of the 64 channels available on Comcast cable, only 36 actually arrive in the lineup. I have tried downloading 2 or 3 times. It is always the same. All 64 channels are checked in the table in the Zap2it site.

I attempted to install one of the channels manually, but not success.

I know all the missing channels are available, because I can see them with my TV set, and also with WinTV2000.

How do I get all the channels in the Cable lineup?

Paul

has anybody an idea how to fix this problem

Many thanks

  Codec pack?
Posted by: squareslinky - 2005-08-31, 12:51 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (1)

I have some shows I recorded in MCE (before switching to GBPVR). I am able to view these files when I have Sage installed, but when I uninstall Sage I loose the codec to view them. I also can not view the recorded files in GBPVR. I realize this is a codec issue. Can anybody recomend a codec pack with the ability to watch MCE files as well as those created in GBPVR? I was looking and saw a bunch of codec packs.

Thanks.
