  Problem with season record.
Posted by: Rampage - 2005-08-30, 07:22 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (6)

Hi, just upgraded to the latest version. The season "record all episodes" doesn't seem to work, only "record once" works. Am I missing something in the config?

Thanks.

Question regarding capture source device numbers
Posted by: daphatty - 2005-08-30, 03:41 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (2)

So today I went to watch some HDTV through GB-PVR and got nothing. I played around with it for a bit and figured out that the Capture Device numbers play a role in whether or not GBPVR actually recognizes the hardware. (In this instance, GB-PVR wouldn't recognize ANY of my capture devices if I set them to anything other than Capture Device 1.) My question is this, does the capture device numbering correspond to the physical number of like hardware you have installed in your HTPC (i.e. two PVR-150s, two Fusion 5s) or does the capture device numbering correspond to which device is set as the primary, secondary, and so forth?

  Screen saver and hibernate
Posted by: venger - 2005-08-30, 02:39 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (1)

It seems that the new screen saver feature has a side effect (?)
It stops the machine from going into standby (eg hibernate).

Sub, is this true?

My setup: I have an instance of GBPVR.exe for my PC and another instance for my MVP.

Would my machine still have trouble hibernating even if i only have the MVP-instance running? ie, the PC-instance is not running

  GBPVR Database Lost
Posted by: Jeff - 2005-08-30, 02:36 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (2)

I just noticed that none of the shows I had scheduled recorded today. I went in looking in my logs and noticed that GBPVR restarted some time around 11:40 last night and my gbpvr.mdb datasbe was wiped out around the same time.

Here is the error log entry
8/28/2005 11:41:14 PM.640 ERROR [2] Error loading station list: System.Data.OleDb.OleDbException: Could not find file 'C:\Program Files\devnz\gbpvr\gbpvr.mdb'.

ATI 550 Pro + ASUS MB could = lockup
Posted by: tevbill - 2005-08-30, 02:31 AM - Forum: Hardware - Replies (9)

If you are considering an ATI 550 Pro tuner card, and I would consider it if you are looking for a quality card -

Please be aware that there are some reported issues of the Sapphire Theatrix 550 Pro card causing system lockups on ASUS Motherboards with Award Bios.

There is nothing more discouraging than waiting a week for your tuner card,
installing it, and having it lock up your PC Sad

This can occur running any application that accesses the card like the software included with the card (PowerCinema) or gbpvr or any other pvr app.

I have the 550 Pro (sapphire Theatrix version) and experienced these lockups
running PowerCinema I didn't test anything after that and I put it in another PC (biostar MB) and it worked great with PCinema and gbpvr.

Upgrading the Award BIOS to the newest rev on the ASUS MB solved the problem for me and it works fine now.

The bois upgrade specifically addressed ATI compatability issues.

If you are not sure what kind of Motherboard you have just download a free utility like "PC Wizard"
http://www.cpuid.org/pcwizard.php

It will tell you what you've got.

Problem reported so far with Sapphire 550 Pro and:
ASUS A7V8X-X MB (award bois)
Asus p4p800e
possibly the ASUS Pundit-R

I'm not sure if this applies to the other versions of the 550 Pro like the ATI TV
Wonder Elite, or the Powercolor but it does apply to the Sapphire Theatrix.

program totally wiped out due to .NET problem
Posted by: linfor - 2005-08-30, 01:31 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - No Replies

I had just made a change in the EPG in the config. After I hit the "OK" button to exit I got several popup boxes saying there was an error in the .NET and then a ton of other popups with unhandled exceptions. I could not close the windows so I had to use task manager to stop the process. When I tried to restart the gbpvr recording service it would not do it and gave me some message about looking in the helpmsg. When I hit the config after closing the windows it totally reinstalled GBPVR and erased everything I had - the devices, the schedule recordings and all the config settings. The logs only showed a fresh install so I cannot send them to Sub to see the error. I went into the webserver section to see if anything was there. The following is the error it gave me.

Server Error in '/gbpvr' Application.

  XRecord doing back/exit incorrectly?
Posted by: BobAtTorrey - 2005-08-30, 01:26 AM - Forum: Old Stuff (Legacy) - Replies (3)

I don't think XRecord, XGuide, and XSearch are porcessing the Back/Exit button from the MVP remote as they should. (This probably isn't a problem specific to the MVP remote, but that's all I've tested.)

I've organized my main menu with some sub-menus. For example, the main menu has 'TV', which takes me to a sub-menu which includes LiveTV, XGuide, XSearch, XRecord. Similarly, my main menu has a Radio sub-menu which includes FM Radio and Net Radio.

If I hit Back/Exit from FM Radio or Net Radio, they exit to the Radio sub-menu. If I hit Back/Exit again from the Radio menu I exit up one level to the main menu. However, if from FM Radio or Net Radio I hit the Menu button, they exit all the way up to the top/main menu. Both are what I'd expect, and what seems right.

In contrast, hitting the Back/Exit button from XRecord, XGuide and XSearch takes me immediately to the top/main menu rather than up one level to the TV sub-menu. There is no differentiation between the Menu button and the Back/Exit button.

  Changing channels via GBpvr
Posted by: thomasjbs - 2005-08-30, 01:13 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (4)

I can't figure out how to configure the software to change channels from the GBPVR software. I have a Dual tuner, WINTV-PVR-500MCE and I can watch cable as long as I use the original channel changer from the cable box.

Scanning channels finds only channel 3. I've gotten the tv guide functions to work, but cannot get the GBPVR to change channels. I'm using the cable input (coax).

Any suggestions?

  Multiple Tuners
Posted by: dachs - 2005-08-30, 01:04 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (6)

I am having a hard time getting 2 tuners to work. Both of them work on their own. When I add a second capture source and schedule 2 recordings, the first recording works fine, but the second says that it's recording, but the file size stays at zero. I found an old thread that solved a similar problem using a hacked nativeutilities.dll file, but that file was removed because it only worked with an old release.
I have Hauppauge PVR250 and PVR150MCE cards.
Any help would be appreciated.

  Late night lagg

Hey, I notice that late night between say 1-5am est the forum servers and wiki are really lagging? Wondered if it was server maintenance or something.
