Two Tv cards - can I have them both tuned to the same channels
Posted by: jonmck - 2005-08-22, 07:14 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (5)

Let me explain!

I have a digital card that is tuned to all the freeview channels

I also have an anologu card that is currently tuned to RTE channels - I am in Northern ireland.

Can I set the anaologue card to also record BBC1 thru Channel five so I can record someone on BBC1 and ITV at the same time?

If so, how do I tell GB-PVR which card to use?

Thanks

  iMON VFD plugin request
Posted by: csy - 2005-08-22, 06:59 AM - Forum: Old Stuff (Legacy) - Replies (9)

I have a Silverstone LC11M case that comes with the iMON VFD/IR-remote module. It would be really cool if someone could develop or adapt a gbpvr plugin which would display what is currently playing on gbpvr, onto the iMON VFD display? In particular, I'm really keen to see the FM radio station name and number displayed so that I don't have to turn-on the TV to see or change stations.

There is an existing LCD/VFD plugin for gbpvr however it won't talk to the iMON driver.

Anyone able and willing to help?

  GBPVR & Pinnacle ShowCenter 200
Posted by: KiwiKid - 2005-08-22, 06:53 AM - Forum: General Discussion - Replies (4)

Anyone using one of these with GBPVR? Is there any need for GBPVR with one of these?

I found they're available in NZ - HD compatible, 5.1 sound, component output, wireless or wired, remote connection to PCTV tuner etc.

It sounded like a good tool to access stuff in the bedroom or a 2nd monitor. I realise a lot of people seem to use the MVP and I wondered if there is any comparison of one against the other (except for the price!).

Does the MVP access GBPVR's frontend and tuners etc? Not exactly sure how it all works.

  GB-PVR as LAN frontend?
Posted by: hockeyrink - 2005-08-22, 06:00 AM - Forum: General Discussion - Replies (2)

I've done some searching with limited success (see this thread for what I found), and what I want to do is this:

Use an old laptop with TV-out remotely on my LAN to interface to the GBPVR running a Hauppauge PVR250 on a faster box elsewhere. There - that's it. The post I found above mentions this config in passing, but I'm not seeing any documentation to that effect anywhere else.

Is it possible to totally control GBPVR from elsewhere on the LAN, like my MediaMVP does? Or do I just use the laptop interfacing with the HTML interface?

Thx,
Dave

  Live TV Keeps stopping
Posted by: Icehenge - 2005-08-22, 06:00 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - No Replies

While trying to watch live TV I keep getting thrown back to the main menu after a minute or so below is an extract of my log

Quote:22/08/2005 06:54:05.265 VERBOSE [2] PreviewLiveTV(1)
22/08/2005 06:54:05.265 VERBOSE [2] PreviewLiveTV() done
22/08/2005 06:54:05.328 VERBOSE [2] DirectRecordingSource::getPreviewGraph(44)
22/08/2005 06:54:07.500 VERBOSE [2] Received event code: 14
22/08/2005 06:54:37.046 VERBOSE [2] RenewLease: 1
22/08/2005 06:54:37.046 VERBOSE [2] RenewLease() failed
22/08/2005 06:54:37.265 VERBOSE [2] Stopping recording oid:1

I have a PVR350 & a Nova-t card it seems to be a problem only on 350.

I have just found that pressing pause and switching to timeshift mode seems to correct this problem.

still i would like to use it without having to timeshift all the time Smile

Any ideas?

Many Thanks
Nigel...

  Cyberlink Remote Control support
Posted by: csy - 2005-08-22, 05:36 AM - Forum: Hardware - Replies (41)

Hi Sub,

I'm really keen to get this remote working correctly on gbpvr (and obviously many others as well, judging by the threads), but we need your support or the support of a fellow developer to write the code.

I'm happy to lend you my remote. I live in Christchurch so postal cost is not much.

Are you willing?

  Set up issues
Posted by: Jppoulin - 2005-08-22, 04:16 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (3)

I have the Sapphire Threatre 550 Pro. All I want to do is record off external composite and external S-Video. I am having problems setting it up though. I tried adding the source for composite but when I did that the program required that I add an EPG even though its an external source. I have it set up so the channel 3 is composite but it's quite confusing and I have no audio. Can someone please help me out. Thanks.

  Recording from TVGuide
Posted by: gromit - 2005-08-22, 03:58 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (1)

When I try to set up a recording with the new gbpvr (version 09310), as I scroll down to adjust the pre and post paddings. The quality changes to HIGH and the pre and post decrease by 1 minute as I scroll through. Any ideas? I am also getting an error message of: No connection could be made because the target machine actively refused it.

  Comskip help needed
Posted by: soccerdad - 2005-08-22, 12:10 AM - Forum: Old Stuff (Legacy) - Replies (8)

I have been working on getting comskip set up to work with the autodeletion setting that sub added in this last great release. Reboot gave me some great help on the tuning but I think I am still missing something. I recorded a show and it appears to have done the comskip analysis because I have 3 txt files and an excel file and a .wme file in the folder. An excerpt from one of the files:

---------------------
Initial Commercial List
---------------------
0) 1 10255 0: 5:42.14
1) 24428 40550 0: 8:57.94
2) 49216 52307 0: 1:43.14

---------------------
Final Commercial List
---------------------
3 - start: 49216 end: 52307 length: 0: 1:43.14

So I think it found at least one commercial. The problem is all of the commercials still show up when I play back the video. I have the autoskip commmercials checked in Config. The green status bar is all green and does not have any black in it. Is there something else that I need to do to set this up? Also, I did not get set up a "dictionary" since I have a 150mce and from what I read it may not help me. Is that correct? Finally, do I need all of the text files, wme and the excel file to make this work? The 6 meg excel file seems large. Thanks.

  A list of things...
Posted by: Rexel99 - 2005-08-21, 11:59 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (4)

I would like to re-order the channel entries. tvHarvest gets my listing with channel Nine first, then ABC and then others, which isnt logical but I was hoping to re-order these in the list in GBPVR, other than editing the database manually (which I will avoid at the moment) I cant see how it can be done easily. Any tips?

I cant get the channel images working, I have placed pics in the media/channellogos directory in various formats and they dont show up.
In the channel table of the DB I have oid:3 name:ABC2 channel_num:3
Placing an image named "3 ABC2.jpg" or "ABC2 3.jpg" or other variations dont seem to work. Other than re-starting the app fully every time I try or a different filename format that I havnt hit on yet, I cant seem to make it work.
(I am using the MCE skin and channelimages are set true but I havnt found any docs that really spell it out for me)

ABC2 (a new channel not without it's problems here in Aus) has a delay in the audio, about 300-500ms for me. I have sometimes encountered this replaying recordings before too but not previously with the live tv, and only now with ABC2 after my recent re-install (see below).
oid:3 (ABC2) has tuning_request:
T:C12,226500,0,0,7~P:562~V:2309~A:2310~PMT:258~TXT:2313~N:>ABC2
But again without setting manually...

I had the re-install problem with 9310, on reboot it automatically went to re-install/mod the app and this killed the video card entry. I did a full de/re-install and I think it's fixed itself but I am keeping an eye on it.

And the final issue, any direct docs on setting the remote for use with the Twinhan DVB-T card. This seems to be almost a proprietry controller/USB-ir device and only the channel +- works under GBPVR for me.

Thanks, Rex.
