Questions
Do you rip them in file mode and have only the movie on the HD?
How many run as ISO's complete?
I'm wondering how you get on with wanting to jump to a particular scene if running the movie only files. When you push the "menu" button on the remote how does the movie / GBPVR respond (on a dvd it usually goes to the scene selection menu) Do you run scene selection menus? How does GBPVR deal with this - or does it use the chapter points and you have to skip/ffwd until you find the point you want. ? Or can you bookmark the points you want and save them permanently to some file?
I like the idea of still having the (DVD) menu available, but only if I press the menu button after the movie has started directly. I guess I'd have to alter all the menus to get the way I would like to run my collection - not sure that is a good idea as the time frame would be considerable.

What about a skype / tele-conference (i.e. use webcam) capabilities through gbpvr. It runs through my tv, so it's nice nad big, and it would be great to set up my webcam and be able to chat with my family just through the tv and through gbpvr... i saw something similar with meedio:
I have two Hauppauge cards - PVR150MCe currently installed and PVR150 which I am adding.
No matter what I do I cannot seem to get both to work at the same time. the 150MCE is set as capture source #1 - I thought since they use the same driver I could set the PVR150 as capture source #1 also - that did not work, neither did setting it as number 2.
Any help appreciated.
I would like to have each show not only have the date but also have an episode number that increments with each recording. Is there anyway I can do that?
Great pvr by the way. I'm torn between Beyond TV and GBPVR... Both very great products.
I would like to be able to toggle between windowed and fullscreen mode without having to exit out to the menu. I understand I can maximise it but thats not the point. I might sit here and do some work in windowd mode and want to be able to sit back in fullscreen without having to exit out of timeshift mode and lose my buffer.
I have obtained two OEM PowerDVD5 CDs (one with ATI 550 capture card, and one with DVD drive), and both "appear" to have full 5 channel Dolby Digital using the inbuilt Cyberlink audio filter, but they actually are 2 channel stereo with surround sound effect enabled. If you go into the PowerDVD audio configuration and go into the advanced setup and disable the effects, then you hear the true output which is only 2 channel stereo (this of course is not an issue if you are using SPDIF output).
Also when PowerDVD installes, the Cyberlink audio decoder becomes the Windows default audio filter, hence same issue to gbpvr when configured to use the default audio decoder or Cyberlink audio decoder.
My TVGuide shows about 5-6 days. Today I saw a show in the guide that appeared about 2 hours ago. I wanted to add a weekly (timeslot) reoccurring recording, but that show is weekly, so I don't have the next one in the guide yet. If I press OK on the previous one, all I get is "Exit". Can't set a recurring recording. I'd like to.
The "AC3 Filter" is recommended on many threads on various forums but in my opinion it causes more trouble than its worth. There are several versions of the AC3 Filter, and the 3 commonly mentioned ones are shown below. I use the Intervideo video decoder filter, VMR9, and Dx9b quartz.dll, and this is what I've found:
ver 0.70b (incl fix patch), causes problems with live-preview not working
ver 1.01a RC5, causes video jitter and 0MB recordings
ver 1.02A test3, causes subtle video jitter which you can see if you closely study objects as they are moving (compared to a standalone TV), and occasional studder
I uninstalled the AC3 filter (needs to be fully uninstalled to fix problems) and instead went to the Intervideo audio filter, and now video movement is very smooth with no jitter or studdering.
I have been having trouble with the last few versions of GBPVR. The last version that worked consistently for me was version GBPVR09112b.
The problem versions install with no errors, but after 30 â 60 minutes of viewing recorded data on my MVP, the connection drops and usually cannot be reconnected until I open config and hit OK. In addition, when I right-click on the tray monitor app, nothing happens (the little option menu will show up after I hit the OK in config). It appears this is related to the disconnection problem.
My last attempt at installing GBPVR09310 was after in-installing a previous version, deleting everything in the gbpvr directory; then installing with no plug-ins or any settings from the previous version.
The only log error is in gbpvr.exe.log:
21-Aug-05 1227.089 ERROR [2] Unable to find node: /settings/SpecialElements/SpecialElement[@name="MenuType"]
No errors in any other log files, including GBPVRTray.exe.log
Any ideas? I used GBPVR09112b until recently, but would like to use the current version for the significant improvements and support for current plug-ins.

I have an MVP on the TV in my bedroom which is connected to the PC in an adjacent room with a crossover cable. I like it (with GBPVR) so much that I'd like to connect the 32" TV in the family room downstairs. I think I can run the cable through the heating air ducts to get there.
My question is, how do I go about hooking up a second MVP. I'm guessing that I'll have to buy a router and connect the router to the PC with an ethernet cable. What do I connect both MVPs to the router with, crossover or ethernet cable? What's this gonna cost me?
Second question, can two MVPs be playing videos at the same time?
