  MVP Starting Up - Revisited
Posted by: DavidJames - 2005-08-18, 09:58 PM - Forum: MVP & NMT - Replies (9)

I know that I should not need the Hauppauge MVPMedia and MVPMedia Svc services running when I boot my MVP, but there are many times when it won't start without them. Last night for example. I found that someone had switched off the MVP. When I turned it on, it hung at "starting applications". Not until I started the Hauppauge services would it fully start. I then stop the MVP services and all is well.

I've searched through the forum but can't seem to find anything to help.

Any thoughts.

I'm running version 92.11

Thanks

PVR350 with ATI Radeon TV out
Posted by: bravors - 2005-08-18, 09:51 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (4)

Newbie at this stage and looking for some setup help. Have purchased a Hauppauge WinTV PVR 350 card and installed GB-PVR with ease. Everything working until I tried to playback my avi's (all divx or xvid) and the screen is blank athough the PC seems to be trying to play. Have since read on this forum that the PVR350 can't output divx files through its TV out socket which is a bit dissapointing as the live tv is great.

Anyway I have a tv out socket on my Radeon 9800 pro card so think I can use that as a tv out but for the life of me I can't figure out how to tell GB-PVR to use this. I managed to go into my display properties in windows and switch my primary desktop to the TV but surely there is a better way of doing this as it renders my PC screen useless for other things.

Thanks for the help.

  Remote doesn't work with BootIntoGBPVR
Posted by: Beinar - 2005-08-18, 09:43 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (4)

Installed gbpvr today, and I've fiddled around a bit, it looks really nice!!

Everything have worked perfect for me, and when I read about direct booting into gbpvr (going to use this for recording tv and listen to music), I followed the Tips&Trix (on the gbpvrWiki site). After fiddeling a bit more I've managed to boot directly into gbpvr, but then I lost the function of the Remote Controll (Hauppage pvr150 w/remote). Everything else works well (internet-connection, weather plugin etc.). I've tried to enable/disable the 'direct access to Hauppage remote'. I've also tried to have/not have the ir.exe in startup. Now I'm lost... Do anyone have some suggestions about what I can do to fix this problem?

  VERY quiet audio on recordings
Posted by: Decadent Fool - 2005-08-18, 09:10 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (4)

Hi, hope someone can help.

My recordings have got exceptionally quiet audio on them. Any mp3s I play thrgh gbpvr are fine, but I have to pt 'pseudo surround' on my tv to hear anything; and when I do, it's harsh to listen to, like a 'strained' bitrate.

I've tried changing the playback settings with no joy - so over to you guys. Playing the mpeg through powerdvd is the same - low sound. So, it's a capture problem.

I'm using the most recent version on a PVR150, and this problem existed with the last version. I can't think of anything that changed that may have caused this...

  No TV A/V through Xcard
Posted by: Seffer - 2005-08-18, 09:04 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (1)

My system has a hauppauge PVR350 and PVR500 tuners and a Sigma Xcard as output. Im not able to get any audio or video from the PVR tuners though the Xcard output. When I use software decoder everything works.

I'm able to watch DVD and other videos with the Xcard.

The XCard is set to Scart RGB and PAL60. I have tried differnt outputs and modes with no luck.

Best regards

Seffer

  PVR 500 (dual tuners)
Posted by: kevin_c - 2005-08-18, 08:53 PM - Forum: Hardware - Replies (8)

Hi all,

Small question. I've a PVR 500 (which has dual tuners)

How do I set that up so I can use them though? I've selected PVR 500 where applicable, but I still get told I can't record a show and watch live TV at the same time.

Any ideas?

Thanks,

- Kevin

I am thinking about using using GBpvr and I have 1 pvr150 and 1 pvr250 (both non MCE). They both have remotes and I was wondering if I just use one can the one control everything. I know this is a stupid question but I just want to make sure. Thanks.

Just wondering if its possible for the MVP to run Doom? If it runs linux it possible to run Doom, correct? Or is the processor too slow and specialized? I'm a linux newb so I can't do it but curoius if any one has thought about it.

  Config. crash
Posted by: james@millhouse.eclipse.c - 2005-08-18, 03:53 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (2)

I've just installed GB-PVR and all goes well until I come to map digital channels to EPG channels. The dialog box comes up requesting me to point to a folder. The trouble is that the program freezes at that point and the only recourse is to kill the process. So the main program can't see the channels.

I am running Windows 2000 Professional with SP 4. The capture card is a Hauppauge WinTV Nova-T which is working fine with WinTV2000. If you need any further details I'll be happy to provide them.

By the way, what folder am I looking for? The documentation does not help, it does seem to be a little out of date. It doesn't tell me what the column 'Tuning requests' is for. Is there a way of manually assigning channels?

Regards

James
