  Possible Minor Music Panel Enhancement??
Posted by: wshiggins - 2005-08-17, 07:13 PM - Forum: Wishlist - Replies (1)

First of all, let me say that I really like the GBPVR, all the plugins and the Music Panel display on the main menu. Smile

I think this is a small thing, more of a nuisance than anything, but it would be nice if the Music Panel could pick up and display the song name from Net Radio when it's playing instead of displaying the name of the stream file. The song name is properly displayed on the Net Radio screen, so it seems like it would be available.

Once again, thank you all for all your effort! This is a great system!

  DVRtoMPG users? Help needed.
Posted by: bgowland - 2005-08-17, 07:08 PM - Forum: General Discussion - Replies (5)

Has anyone had any success using DVRtoMPG available from sourceforge? It's a command-line utility that converts dvr-ms files to mpeg2. I get an error on 'loadMux()'. The error (0x80040154) in the Winerror.h file suggests a class isn't registered.

The utility has no documentation and all I can find from various user forums is that I need the Cyberlink MpgMux.ax (which I have and it is registered). Any ideas?

Alternatively, recommendations for othe command-line utilities to do the same (freeware or cheap shareware)? My attempts so far to build a DirectShow graph in C# have failed miserably. Sad

Cheers,
Brian

  BDAScanType 2 - MCE2005?
Posted by: Chris.Day - 2005-08-17, 07:05 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (1)

I run a dual-boot Windows XP Pro SP2 and MCE2005 setup, using a Hauppauge Nova-t PCI (Chelsea) and HVR-1300 (Oxford). Under XP Pro, I could scan channels fine, but under MCE2005 it was nescessary to set BDAScanType to 2.

Was this option put in for MCE2005 or is it something else that caused it?

  Can't cancel recording
Posted by: LilY0da - 2005-08-17, 06:47 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (1)

Hey

I now have a PVR250 and PVR500, so 3 tuners.
As I was testing around, I found out that I can only cancel recordings a limited number of times (it looks like once only)
If I say "quick record", then cancel it, then do quick record again, then I have a duplicate in the recording schedule table, as well as duplicate files, and I can't cancel the recordings anymore

Here's the recording schedule table

Code:
oid programme _oid capture_ source _oid status filename 135 8995 2 2 \\ROQUEFORT\MEDIA\TV_SHOWS\One Life to Live\One Life to Live_20050817_14001500-4.mpg 136 8995 2 1 \\ROQUEFORT\MEDIA\TV_SHOWS\One Life to Live\One Life to Live_20050817_14001500-5.mpg 137 8697 3 2 \\ROQUEFORT\MEDIA\TV_SHOWS\The 700 Club\The 700 Club_20050817_14001500-4.mpg 138 8697 3 1 \\ROQUEFORT\MEDIA\TV_SHOWS\The 700 Club\The 700 Club_20050817_14001500-5.mpg 139 8793 4 2 \\ROQUEFORT\MEDIA\TV_SHOWS\As the World Turns\As the World Turns_20050817_14001500-3.mpg 140 8793 4 1 \\ROQUEFORT\MEDIA\TV_SHOWS\As the World Turns\As the World Turns_20050817_14001500-4.mpg

And here's the gbpvrrecordingservice.log

http://kragone.free.fr/gbpvrrecordingservice.exe.log

Not sure if it's a bug or a feature, but I thought I'd report it.

Best micro-atx mainboard for a HTPC?
Posted by: Remco - 2005-08-17, 06:25 PM - Forum: Hardware - Replies (4)

Hi,

I'm thinking about building a new HTPC, and i think the Silverstone LC11M is a nice one. But this one needs a micro-Atx (mAtx) mainboard.

What is the best mATX mainboard, or chipset for a HTPC? It'll contain a PVR350, so should i stay away from Via? I think i'll put a Sempron in it, so it has to be socket 754.
The only chipsets i can find are:
- ATI Radeon XPRESS 200 Chipset
- VIA KM800
- nForce3 250 (but these ones are hard to find)
Which one is the best?

or should i stick with Socket A and search for an nForce2 board?
or should i save a little more money and search for a 939 with nForce4

Thanks.
Remco

  Problems with Twinhan DVB-T card
Posted by: Kevl - 2005-08-17, 06:21 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (6)

Hi

Have recently downloaded the GBPVR software for the first time and have been seriously impressed. A seriously well thought out piece of software with some stunning looking skins.

As expected with new software, I have encountered a minor problem with my installation. (operator error strongly suspected)

Twinhan DVB-Sat card seems to work fine but the Twinhan DVB-T card in an adjacent slot fails to find any channels. Have tried selecting Sandy Heath transmitter - which is correct for Cambridge UK and also tried scanning for all regions.

System is as below

GBPVR Version: 0.93.10b
Skin: Xmedia LE
CPU Type: Pentium4 3Ghz
Memory: 1GB PC333
Motherboard Chipset: Asus P4P800 (Intel 865PE Chipset + ICH5R)
Video Card: Ati Radeon 9600XT 128MB Ram (fanless)
Video Card Driver: Ati Catalyst5.7 with Ati control panel

TV Card #1: PMI Sweetspot PDI Delux RGB/PDI input card
TV Card Driver #1: Sweetspot WDM driver (version 1)
TV Card #2: Twinhan PCI DVB-Sat CI
TV Card Driver #2: Twinhan BDA driver version 1.219
TV Card #3: Twinhan PCI DVB-Ter
TV Card Driver #3: Twinhan BDA driver version 1.219

Also have an Xcard fitted but have not yet tried configuring this or the sweetspot RGB aquisition card.

Attached file shows an error but I am unsure of how to fix it. I'm sure the DVB-T card works as Mediaportal is able to tune it. Would be grateful for any advice.

Another clue might be that when attempting to tune both of the Twinhan cards the little preview window above the rescan button is blank. Presumably some obscure .ax file is errant??? Have not yet changed my quartz.dll file so also have stuttering but will attend to PQ later.

Best Regards

Kevl

  can't detect pvr350 anymore
Posted by: Koopa - 2005-08-17, 05:48 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - No Replies

Hi,

For some reason I can't find gbpvr doesn't detect my tv card (pvr 350) anymore on startup after a cold boot.

The tv card works fine in wintv2000, windows 2000 detects it,...

The only recent changes have been the latest w2k updates and installation of bsplayer (zip file version so I don't how that could be the problem), and the whole setup has been runnig smoothly for months.

Updating / reinstalling /repair gbpvr fixes the problem and works after a restart but it comes back after a shutdown.

Any pointers to why this might be happening or a fix would be welcome...

NB gbpvr starts from a shortcut in windows startup folder

Question regarding new screen saver feature
Posted by: daphatty - 2005-08-17, 03:41 PM - Forum: Developers - Replies (2)

Will the new screen saver feature allow a plug-in to invoke the windows screen saver? I'm interested undertaking such a project (dusting off the old programming notes) but I want to make sure it will be possible.

Padding shows: Allow -ve times to end show early
Posted by: naln - 2005-08-17, 03:15 PM - Forum: Wishlist - Replies (1)

Hi,
Just started using this program recently- so I may not be well informed about the features already in the program/plugins.

In show padding- I realized that there seemed to be no way to end the recording earlier- only +ve padding. Could you introduce -ve padding times too so that we only record segments of shows and not the entire show. I prefer to do this for talk shows-

Thanks.
