  AverMedia DVB-T USB2.0
Posted by: SFADuncan - 2005-08-17, 02:04 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (5)

I have a AverMedia DVB-T USB2.0 but cannot see this option under Capture Card Type in the recording source options. Does this mean I am unable to use this software?

  Multi-Tuner setup
Posted by: GoodGuys - 2005-08-17, 01:48 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (4)

Hi,

I just received my new PowerColor Theater 550 card (already have a working setup with Hauppauge 350), and will be installing it later this evening. I intend to hook the RF antenna cable to both cards, so hopefully both cards would be able to tune to the same set of channels.

If I configure the new capture source and tell it to use the same XMLTV file, is this sufficient for my system to be able to record overlapping programs?
How do I tell it that the channels one capture source can see are not merely copies, but are in fact the same ones?

I've been searching the forums and docs for this, but couldn't find. Apologies if this has been answered before.

Thanks,
GGF

  Clear all failed recordings
Posted by: stefan - 2005-08-17, 10:38 AM - Forum: Wishlist - No Replies

I can see how this would get way down on the list, since I've used the program for a while now and not felt the need until right now :-)

I've just come back from a long vacation (anybody missed me? Big Grin ) and had my computer shut off. Naturally I had lots of "failed" in the list. It would then have been nice to have had a "clear all failed" with one simple command, instead of having to go through each one and delete them by hand.

  update "Pending" screen in recordings
Posted by: reven - 2005-08-17, 10:15 AM - Forum: Wishlist - No Replies

when you watch a recording in progress from "recordings"/"pending" and it finishes the screen still remains the same and you have to once again click "pending" to update the screen (and watch any new pending shows) it would be nice if this was updated when you stopped the video.

just a small little thing.

you can tell when a program is really good, when you start nit picking (or is it nick picking....) at the small things Smile

Help! New listings problem and unhandled exceptions....
Posted by: jusatry - 2005-08-17, 07:58 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (2)

First off, I have the latest version of GB-PVR (just upgraded in the hopes that this would fix my problems), and I have a working zap2it act which is not expired. I am using a Hauppauge PVR150 and running Windows XP Pro. What follows are my 2 problems and each associated log.

Thanks in advance for any help!

So yesterday GBPVR ceased to be current on TVguide listings. When I run "Update EPG" I get an error: "Faliure in ChannelFactory:ConfusedtoreChannels(): No current record." And my EPG is not updated Sad

Here are the last lines of config.exe.log:

ALSO

When I exit config, and it tries to restart the service i get an error: "Unhandled exception has occurred...."Object reference not set to an instance of an object" This log is attached as "details":

Problem with Hauppauge "Tuner Format" settings
Posted by: tieke - 2005-08-17, 05:13 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (4)

I have sent an e-mail to hauppauge, but maybe someone here can help me with this - I bought a PVR-150 today, which I was going to use for free-to-air channel recording, while my existing 250 was dedicated to the cable line-in.

Unfortunately, I can't seem to tune any channels in with the 150. After removing the 250, and doing complete uninstalls and reinstalls, I suspect the problem lies with the hauppauge "tuner format" setting - in the WinTV ap, I can't tune in any channels either, as it steadfastly maintains that the format is "MN", with no options for argument.

As I specifically bought the PVR150 in NZ at double the US price in order to have the PAL abilities, this seems a trifle unfair. Checking both the physical label on the card and using prodinfo confirms that the card does in fact have "Tuner Formats: (B/G/I/D/K/L/L')".

I tried the shspvr multi-format registry hack, but all that does is let me change the video to PAL B (admittedly an improvement, as while it was set to M or N, the composite line-in didn't work properly either, but now does).

So - anyone know how to convince the hauppauge registry settings that the card is in fact PAL-B capable? (And yes - I have completely uninstalled several times, using hcwclear.exe each time, and in fact manually going through the registry and deleting all hcw and hauppauge references last time, to no effect, on both the CD-drivers and the latest web ones).

cheers,

tieke

  Errors in Zap2it data?
Posted by: chasef - 2005-08-17, 03:47 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (4)

Has anyone else found errors in the guide data provided through Zap2it? I swear it has mislabeled quite a few episodes that have caused me to record something I wasn't expecting. I'm just wondering if anyone else is experiencing this. And, if anyone has any, suggestions...

  Cutting+Divx+VirtualDubMod+PostProcessing.bat
Posted by: venkman - 2005-08-17, 02:57 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (1)

Hello all,

After battling for quite a bit and coming up with inconsistant results I come to you guys again for some pointers.

1. Goal:
a. To use the ShowAnalyzer text file and Cut out the commercials ,
b. and while doing so convert to DivX (I like the Home theater profile),
c. and convert the audio to mp3
d. And do all this within a factor of 4 times the original recording time on my Athlon 1800+xp.

What I've done so far:
I wrote some scripts (unfortunately in cygwin bash) to automate the process of selecting frame ranges and such and I have a template of saved processing settings for virtualdubmod which I use to generate a script file. The script works, but a bit questionable when launched from postprocessing.bat - its a bit slow (have to run more tests). And, the reason for choosing virtualdubmod? it can do the goal items.
I'm getting excellent results with Divx HomeTheater settings and mp3 audio. About 40% of original mpeg file size with very acceptable video.

Problem:
here's the big problem. The virtualdubmod goes into livelock (not a clue what that means) while transcoding. My tests were on smaller files where I didn't have this issue, but when I let it loose on a 1.5GB file it hung indefinitely in the livelock mode.

Does anyone have any clues on this livelock, or if there is a better method to do what I'm trying to do?

Thanks!
Venkman
