  Start ShowAnalyzer when recording starts
Posted by: mikaelgu - 2005-08-02, 05:31 PM - Forum: Wishlist - Replies (3)

Would it be possible to implement the ability to start ShowAnalyzer processing a file as soon as recording starts? Would cut down considerably on the time needed for post-processing for us with slower machines (Epia 10k).

  12 seconds of video?
Posted by: nchamp - 2005-08-02, 04:14 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (2)

Occasional programs I record present themsleves as only being 12 seconds long when viewed through GBPVR. The whole file exists on disk, and can be played OK via Windows Media Player. GBPVR will usually play them, but responds unpredicatble to skip and fast forward commands.

I can't see any pattern to which recordings suffer from this.

I'm running a Shuttle based PC, with a Hauppauge 350 card, all on XP Pro.

Thanks in advance

Neal

  Shiny Weather Icons - Weather Plugin
Posted by: Danka - 2005-08-02, 03:30 PM - Forum: Old Stuff (Legacy) - Replies (1)

I was looking across the net for some shiny weather icons, to spice up my Weather Plugin, and found this site. He gives permission to freely use them for non commercial purposes, i have included the permission.txt inside the zip file.

I did some resizing, so they fit in GBPVR and renamed them, so they will appear in your choice of skin correctly.

Please visit the site, and view the .txt file inside the zip, he does nice work.

There are more icons, i have included only those that fit well, resizing and renaming as required for the Weather Plugin.

Be sure to make a backup of your gbpvr/media/WeatherIcons folder before you go unzipping, and replacing the originals. That way you can always revert to the existing icons.

Thanks Jeff, for maintaining this plugin, making it as good as it gets Smile

  Low Video Level on MVP Outputs
Posted by: billbremer - 2005-08-02, 12:54 PM - Forum: MVP & NMT - Replies (7)

My new MVP (Rev D1) has low brightness on both the S-Video and composite outputs.

Peak white levels while playing an mpeg clip are only about 60 IRE (they should be 100). Sync level is 20 (should be 40). The same clip looks fine when played on other devices.

Is this a known issue with the MVP? Would another hardware revision be better? Can these levels be adjusted via software?

Any advice greatly appreciated.

  How do I select audio/sub titles tracks in xvid movie?
Posted by: blader_se - 2005-08-02, 07:18 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (2)

Just started an .avi (xvid) movie from inside GB-PVR, seemes to work fine.

But I would like to switch to a different audio track, is that possible through some keyboard (remote) buttons? Likewise, is there any keyboard shortcuts for switching sub titles?

Searched the forum, but did not found anything...

  Live-TV stutter when creating buffer files
Posted by: i4cmyf8 - 2005-08-02, 03:27 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (12)

Here's what I'm noticing; While in Live-TV, I get a 2-3 second stutter every 3-5 minutes. This stutter seems to correspond to the file creations in the Live TV Buffer directory. Looking like so:
TV-1-120050801_2228 - 42MB
TV-1-120050801_2229 - 41MB
TV-1-120050801_2230 - 42MB
When I quit the GBPVR program, these individual files are combined into a single large file. Everything else works fine. I haven't found the right combination of settings to alleviate this every 2-3 minute stutter. I read another post that referred to the downgrade of DirectX from 9.0c to 9.0b. This didn't work either. I have tried both the nvidia codec and the native hauppauge codec's in separate fresh installations with the same results.
If I missed one of the other archive posts, please forgive. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Here's what hardware I have:
P4 1.5 GHz - 512MB RAM
PVR 350 using TV Out
Windows XP Pro
Latest PVR Drivers (as of 8-1-2005)
Soundblaster Live 5.1

Congifured as follows
To allow testing without disrupting the families' current setup, i'm using the auxillary COAX "Out to TV" of the satellite receiver and another 19" TV.
COAX out of a satellite receiver into the PVR350
audio out of the PVR350 into the line in of the SB Live 5.1
Composite out of the PVR 350 to the Television
**Works like a champ, sans this stutter...**

Here's what settings I have in GBPVR:
<Capture Source Tab>
- Recording Source => Direct Recording Plugin
+ Capture Card Type => PVR 350
- EPG Source => Zap2it (working ok)

<Playback Tab>
- Hardware Decoder Device => Hauppague PVR 350
- Software MPEG2 Playback
+ Video Decoder => Intervideo NonCSS Video Decoder
+ Audio Decoder => Intervideo NonCSS Audio Decoder
+ Audio Renderer => SB Live! Wave Device
- Live TV preplay delay =>500 ms
