Can you install EPG without a TV card?
Posted by: KiwiKid - 2005-07-31, 10:04 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (7)

HI there,

Wondered if I could setup an EPG (say XMLTVNZ) without having a TV card installed.

I've got XMLTVNZ and finally got it to fire with a .bat file but I don't know how, or even if I can, integrate it into GBPVR so I can have a play with it as a GUI.

Thx.

  Recording Wishlist
Posted by: AdiLev - 2005-07-31, 09:40 PM - Forum: Wishlist - Replies (1)

1. Enable moving the green pointer on the top bar to any position on the record session, by pointing and draging it
2. Enable a a search for a word on the title/info. Same for auto record on same criteria.
3. Advance search/auto records with recognition of producer, actors, type of program, year range, when setting a search/ auto recording

  Recordings Skinning Wish
Posted by: mikaelgu - 2005-07-31, 08:31 PM - Forum: Wishlist - No Replies

Would it be possible to change the recording popup to use Popup(Normal | Selected)ButtonImage instead of (Normal | Selected)ButtonImage as it's using now? Or perhaps add a new category for it (for even added skinning flexibility), something like PopupBottom(Normal | Selected)ButtonImage.
TIA,
Mikael

  Unrecognizable database :(
Posted by: JO11423 - 2005-07-31, 08:21 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (3)

Every fourth or fifth time I restart my computer I loose my skin reference, Unrecognizable database and my capture source. This causes me to loose my scheduled recordings and channels too.
I get an error message that states “Unrecognizable database“
When I try to open the file gbpvr.mdb it also tells me “Unrecognizable database“.Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks in advance! Smile

  Theater 550 Deinterlacing Solved!
Posted by: Raffka - 2005-07-31, 07:31 PM - Forum: General Discussion - Replies (3)

I've had problems saving to AVI format when decoding an mpeg, which was created with the Theater 550 capture card. The video had annoying horizontal lines in it whenever it was saved to AVI. I did not experience this with any other mpegs that were not made by this card. Well, there was a good outcome to this bleak situation. Thanks to Gunner Thalin's deinterlaced-area based virtualdub plugin, I can now encode to avi without the horizontal lines showing up in the video! Happy days are here again!! Smile

Anyone get Theater 550 working on 2003 Server?
Posted by: Zod - 2005-07-31, 06:24 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (13)

Has anyone been able to get the ATI Theater 550 hardware decoding to work in Windows 2003 Server? I've got an ATI TV Wonder Elite, and was able to get *almost* everything working with it using GB-PVR on Windows 2003 Server (including the Remote Wonder Plus). I can currently watch and record TV via GB-PVR, but I cannot play back the recorded files, not even using Windows Media Player (missing codec message). Naturally, I can't seem to get most of the ATI software to install correctly, as it's all made for 2000 or XP and won't install in 2003. Yes, I have tried using the latest drivers and all that jazz from their web site, and I've done extensive searching in these forums and on Google, but it doesn't seem to be a problem anyone's successfully resolved and posted about.

PS - Please don't suggest not using Windows 2003. That's a "duh" answer. I'm trying to consolidate my PVR media center with my 2003 development server, so that I don't have to leave more than one PC on all the time. Leaving a single PC powered on 24/7 costs about $10 per month in electricity alone, never mind the cost of additional hardware.

I'm trying to get a new VFD Display which works with GB-PVR, is there any recommendations ?

I'm a newbie here, please recommend some VFD that is easy to install & works without much configurations.

Thanks in advanced.

  Channel Mapping
Posted by: kevin_c - 2005-07-31, 03:38 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (2)

Hi,

Just setting up GBPVR and i'm having trouble setting up channels.

I've got them all tuned up and coming up on screen, but they EPG stuff isn't coming up for the right channels. I'm getting the info from Bleb UK listings.

There's the Source Channel in Capture Sources, and the Channel Number setting in the Channels tab. How do these relate to each other?

I've read the wiki but I just can't suss it out at all,

Any advice appreciated,

- Kevin
