Is or will decrypting be implemented in v5 without using sat>ip? It was hoplessly complicated to set up in Linux so I won't even attempt in windows since I recon it will be dependent of Cygwin....

I installed v5 on a different PC I upgraded (CPU). I ran the NPVR server first and got everything set up and working and configured for port 8867. Then I stopped NPVR server and installed the service using the .bat  file. When the service started I noticed that port 8867 no longer worked but 8866 did. When I looked at the config.xml file I saw that the port got changed to the default 8866.

I changed the port back to 8867 in the config file and saved it after stopping the service. Then started the service again and all was well but I was wondering why it got changed?

I subscribe to an IPTV service, which I have loaded the m3u file into NextPVR, v4.2.5 191014.  The m3u file contains  group ids, which are also
loaded into the device settings.  My id and password has changed, and in an effort to avoid some work, I exported my channel listing to xml,
edited the file to reflect the new login credentials, and imported the xml back into npvr.  I now find that the groups are not present. Is there some
switch or checkbox that I need to use to get the groups to migrate?  

Is there some other method I can use to globally edit the channels to keep the groups?

I was just getting round to posting that one of my three New NPVR Clients stopped working after the update a week or two ago. I installed an old version as a temporary measure. 

Just went to check the problem before posting and the client now starts!  Obviously there has been a more recent update which cured the problem!

Was wondering if MPEG-2 codec was recommended for a raspberry pi 4 setup.

Would NPVR use it when recording?  I'm seeing some issues when there are 2 things recording and trying to play live tv. I'm assuming it a hardware issue but curious if there were any optimizations I could do.  Not sure if any of my log information would be useful to see multi recordings while watching live tv.  Live TV seems to hiccup every so often from buffering.

It seems like the Raspberry Pi 4 just is almost powerful enough to run NPVR as a backend.

I presently have two servers running, v5 and v4 on different computers. I have them forwarded from two different ports (since I have only one domain name for my virtual static IP) for remote access.

However my Android clients can't see the new one, if they already had the server registered, it has the old port number. When I try to "Add Server", with the new port, it still uses the old port and reaches the old server. A workaround is to uninstall the app and start over.

This is probably a rare use case, at least it's probably only relevant for me right now because I'd like to have both servers on hand for cross-testing, but anyway, just to mention it.

From the docs, it looks like it needs to be enabled by the admins, and since I can't find an option to do that, I'm guessing that it is not enabled.

Hi everybody,

I stumbled upon Nextpvr while searching for alternative software for my tuners. I own a tvbutler and an eyetv hybrid, and now i have to run both  TVMosaic and eyetv4 (beta) seperately. If i run both at the same time, i experience problems. I was hoping that running Nextpvr would solve those problems, and it would be just nice to have one software solution for both tuners.

After installing Nextpvr v5, I unfortunately found out the macOS version doesn’t support usb-tuners.  

Can we expect support for usb-tuners on macOS in the future?

Hope so, cause Nextpvr looks like amazing software!
